I've started working on your suggestions for the curves, Admiral. And I'm also working on taking up room now with the cannons, as well. Thanks, Captain Becker! Yeah, I am sort of ashamed I couldn't build the Artemis, but I guess I wanted my first real brick-built ship on my own to be better than how I could get the Artemis. The reason the stern was built first was because I was a little worried that I wouldn't get it right, and I didn't want to have to change it later on in the build. And on the playability factor, it's a bit of both. If you remember when I was building the Artemis, I built the gunports to be pulled out easily, like a break-away section of a wall, such as on the Soldier's Fort set. I'm also having the upper decks removable as well, like a modular-building, without the modular-ness. And no, long replies are good! It means you looked at it! I'll address yours in blue. Those are quite beautiful ships, kurigan! I looked at your ships, and I'm afraid only a bit of it helps, as it isn't on the prefab hulls, but I definitely see some of the ways you fixed the problems I have. Thanks, Admiral Croissant! I'm afraid I don't know what you mean though on your suggestions. I'm slightly confused. Do you mean on the hull section part that I use more of the angled bricks on the bottom? And as for the stern, I put it like that for accessibility, but I do understand what you mean. Also, this is more of a personal-style question, but would you recommend putting two cannons right in front of the doors? Would that look right, or just take up room and look unprofessional? I'm trying to have as much accessibility/playability as possible without sacrificing too much aesthetically/historically accurate. Thanks again!

Some may remember my HMS Artemis I created a few months back in LDD... unfortunately, she hasn't been built yet, and I have decided to not build her in real bricks. After some time off from LEGO Pirate related MOCs, I've started the HMS Swordmaiden. And this time, I plan on making her better than the Artemis. So far, she's one or two mid-sections longer, and i plan on 3 studs spacing between cannons. I've been looking at a lot of ships for inspiration, most notably the list of the Best Sailing Ships here on Classic-Pirates. A lot of inspiration has come from Bonaparte's ships, and also CGH's. I'm trying to make the stern a bit more realistic as well. That's all so far. What do you guys think?

A&W?? But wow, that is an amazing city. I can't believe I just now found out about it. When do you find the time to build all of this? And exactly, how many buildings, vehicles and minifigs populate your city? at least 150 minifigs surely!

That's a really interesting way to build a gun. Very interesting use of pieces. I always thought the Dragunov looked a little funny, but in LEGO, it looks great! Do you mind if I use it in a MOC sometime, maybe?

I don't have any of the castles, but my cousin had almost every HP set from the first movies, and two or three from the third movie, including the castle. I saw the sets combined, but he didn't have all of them.

I'm not surprised about this actually. LEGO has always done very well, and they have a good sign because they're hiring more in Denmark than in China now, so it's a win-win. We get better quality, they get money. Maybe that's why the global economy was hit so hard. Over-seas jobs, so TLC decided to hire closer to home.

I'm surprised I actually didn't go insane from this! Thanks for letting me take part, def! I had so much fun. But who was this "Henry"? I stopped following about 2/3 after my lynching due to classes.

Wow. This is depressing. I didn't really interact with him much (at all, maybe) but I loved looking at his MOCs and his posts were so insightful and great. I'm so sorry for his family's loss and this site's loss. Rest in Peace, Zorro. We miss you. KingoftheZempk P.S. Depends. In the LEGO comics and fantasies, a Pirate with the BSB. But I'd also want to be an Imperial! Ah, so many choices! How about: A Jedi Pirate? Eh, no. This is a hard choice. Um, I'd say, if I can, a privateer. So then I could be a pirate, but I could work for the Imperials. So yes, that sounds right. Can we have a Privateer option?

Can anybody recommend any good sets that have come up? Preferably under $20 USD. I know I want to get the new Mandalorian pack, but I don' know if there is any better ones.
