You really, really really made me scared, now...

WOW! Congratz to your boy and kudos to you! This is a beautiful MOC! The floor looks fantastic, and the pyramid seems to shine! The desert part looks great too Great work, you two!

Thanks for the kind words, Zilcho! I guess I'm already a winner by bringing the entry down to 300 words. I intend to post the whole text after the competition is over, just because I had so much fun writing it!

Are there more Mini-figs than there are humans?
Artifex replied to Hrw-Amen's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Oh, my! -
Very nice! I really like your MOC. I love it when people mix 'stone' and 'wood' in their historic MOCs, and you did it beautifuly. The windows are just great - the one on the front, first floor, looks really, really cool! The flowers on the windows are a great touch, too. I do get the yellow roof, and it's a nice break from the usual black or red, but it seems a little too bright for my taste. But that's me, and I really like your MOC! One question: what about bringing the roof a little bit out in the front entrance? I guess 1-stud will suffice, just like it is on the other side of the building, over the door. Just my one cent worth of tips. Nice work!

Project: Aliens - Colonial Marines
Artifex replied to Blacktron's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Wow, great work you got there! I also spent hours and hours building APCs and dropships after watching Aliens! I got to say your customs are just terrific! From the smile, I guess that's Hudson, isn't it? -
Although I may sound redundant, if you are going for a pub, you have to go for wood furniture! I hope you got all the brown bricks you need, LT!

Thanks for the kind words and all comments! and for the spelling help there! Thanks for your kind words, comments and suggestions. I've italicized certain words because they are references both in the Lego Pirates universe or in the Pirates of the Caribbean universe. no other reason than that.

I had only two experiences with Lego customer service. In the first one, I asked about some rumours that Kingdoms would not last past 2010. They promptly answered me, denying those false rumours (wich I got from someone at Hamleys/London). In the second time, I asked for pieces that were missing in a box sealed Medieval Market Village I bought inthe Lego store in the Bluewater Shopping Center. I filled all forms, but I never got an answer. So you could say I got 50-50 with Lego customer service so far.

I couldn't find this info so... Is this an exclusive set? It's not (yet?) on sale at the Lego S@H... Or is it not available yet?
-
The 2011 Police sets are just great. I got a couple of them, and I have to say they just rock. There are reviews for every 2011 Police set, but no review of the 7498 Police Station... Did this set just let people down? I just watched a review of it on youtube and it seems like a really cool set - but as there's no review here in Eurobricks, I have to say I got that "calm down and think twice" before buying it. So, is there any special reason for no one even mentioning 7498 Police Station? (now THAT sounded much more dramatic than I intended... )

WOW! That's just great! That adds a lot to this set - incredible!

Thanks for all the comments, criticism and suggestions, Cap'n Crunch. Actually, that's an encounter too. An encounter can be both a first meeting or a reunion - however unlikely, unusual or unexpected. It doesn't have to be a first meeting per se. Anne is an existing Lego Pirates character. Check her out in the references: 6253 Anne Shipwreck Hideout review Thanks - that was what I was aiming for. Fixed. Thanks a lot. I tried to show as many elements from both universes as fit the story. Thanks for all the comments, criticism and suggestions.

Hi there! Thanks for all the constructive criticism, Bricks4Fun. I guess spending a couple of hours bringing this baby from 1,000+ words down to 300 made me cut a couple of things that I believed people would just take for granted. For example, I was pretty sure no one would think Brickbeard was a captive too (in the "extended edition" there was a line or two about Brickbeard's alliance with the Islanders, but I had to take it out.) Thanks! I'm not sure Ozzy would be a better commander, but he'd be a hell of an addition to Cobra! I have to admit that I only realized that after I finished my entry. Before posting it, I didn't read any of the other entries, so that was a surprise for me. Thanks. As Captain Brickbeard was around last year, and Captain Jack Sparrow is now around, I just thought that maybe the two of them were around the same age. At least in my entry they are. To be honest, I think Brickbeard is a bit older than Jack by maybe some 10 years. Sadly, that wasn't meant as a joke... Jack has no lines in this entry, save for those two in the end... Brickbeard does all the talking, but I guess I fixed that now. Fixed. Thanks for the advice. There was a 'with' there, but I had to cut it off to get the entry down to 300 words... But I changed that now, thank you. I changed it to "Captain Brickbeard approached, saying:" to make things clearer. I guess the entry is now free of that problem, which may lead the wrong way. Thank you again. Thanks again. After a couple of hours cutting words off, I guess I just took some things for granted. I guess it's much clearer now, especially in the beginning, with Brickbeard approaching before saying anything. Once again, thanks for all the comments and constructive criticism. I guess my entry is better now, thank you.

I just LOVE the pictures on the box! A pity there's no street poster map and the cars are not included, though... Great find!

Wow! This is a great MOC! Kudos to you! I really like the color scheme! Any pics of the water tower by a train station or railroad?

The Great Escape It was always warm in the Enchanted Island. But for Captain Jack Sparrow, things were just hot; being roasted for King Kahuka’s banquet had its price, after all… But Jack was the main course, and in some strange way that made him proud. Face down, Jack turned his head and took a look. It wouldn’t take long. Captain Brickbeard approached, saying, “Smiling? Don’t you know you’re to be eaten? Out of your depth yet again, huh, Jack?” With Brickbeard, things always came back to that. They had been raised into piracy by the same captain — Redbeard. They were best friends, but then there was Anne. Brickbeard had been in love with Anne. But Jack had seen it in her eyes that things would be different than Brickbeard had hoped for… Brickbeard was sick one night and wouldn’t leave Redbeard’s Black Seas Barracuda. Jack was drunk; Anne seized the opportunity. Waking up by her side had been as much a surprise for Jack as it had been for Brickbeard. “Did you know your crew’s fighting Governor Broadside’s imperials in that old mill up the mountain?”, said Brickbeard. Jack took another look. Only a few seconds left. “Smiling again? You nuts?”, said Brickbeard. There was a loud noise, screaming and running. Rocks and bricks coming down fast, and a mill wheel rolling down the mountainside. Will Turner was on top of it, moving his legs fast for his life. It rolled right through the fire, taking Jack with it all the way down to the beach. “Practice makes perfect, huh, Jack?” Head spinning but safe, there wasn’t much to complain. “So it seems, Will… On to the Black Pearl!” “Relax! They’re all the way up the mountain!” “Forget them! I need to check if a certain wench would still like to share some rum…” THE END (for the moment...) 300 words sharp I hope you all enjoy it. Has anyone bought the Lego S@H PAB Horse?
Artifex replied to ziljin's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That would be impossible. Rohan never had that many horses. Not even the whole of Middle-Earth could gather that many horses for a charge! -
Great job, Lightning Tiger! This MOC has the usual LT-quality standards The white windows work great, muche better than if they were yellow or green, which would be a bit much.

Actually, there's a law that says that every major hotel must be in art deco, and that every pub must be in turn-of-the-century. Build On!

This is getting better and better. you have an eye for detail. That signpost is brilliant! I have to confess I didn't notice the Forestman at the first picture - either your MOCing skills or his stealth skills are great, or maybe the two of you are great at what you do Thre trees are just great too, very green and lively. The bearded soldier gives the feel that this is all very real -
With all due respect, JimH - I really don't want to sound like I'm telling you what to do, and I'd never even think of doing that. But please hear my words. Being a collector myself of different toys, there's one piece of advice I can give you: Wait some more years before selling the gold figure. Don't do it now. Its price will go sky high in no-time. you'll be able to ask much more money for it in a couple of years than you can get for it now. you do have a great reason to sell it; but wait a few more years and you'll see. your kid will go to college, but then he'll be driving his chick magnet or her dream carriage, in case it's a girl

Oh, ok. you ARE going for realism, I see.
