Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion
Artanis I replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Well, it's an example of cartoon that I enjoy, while filtering out some of the delivery that's solely aimed at the target audience (eg writing a letter to the princess about what we learned about friendship today). And Liam Neeson is fine. Pod racing isn't necessarily bad, but it does go on for a bit... (when that time could've been used for Darth Maul explaining in more detail that he wants to get his revenge against the jedi... ) -

1. For me, it doesn't ruin the character, instead it ruins the show if anything. But I can look past that stuff in a cartoon. Heck, I enjoy Friendship Is Magic. 2. Well, not really. Add up the minutes of the movie that have anything at all to do with him. He has hardly any screen time, 3 or 4 lines (less than the Terminator...) and most of it is near the end of the movie. It might be called what it is, but I would say that the 2 hours of movie is more about Naboo, Anakin, Qui Gon & pod racing than Darth Maul. Even Obi Wan takes a back seat in Episode I. 3. I agree with all that, except I didn't expect that realistically 22 could've turned out much better than it did in the end. I really enjoy the fights, and we had a decent 2v2 so that marks it up a bit for me. But it wasn't an awesome season finale or anything, just a fairly good episode. -

It's possible that the Flying Dutchman set release is only going to be postponed until the next movie comes out, when TLG is more likely to market & sell it along with a new bunch of sets. Too funny! Try switching the 2 masts so there's a bit more symmetry with the sails. -

Don't forget Dogmatix! I guessed them all, very recognisable. Lucky Luke I could never sing along with the song, found out later in life the reason being it was not in English... -
Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion

This TV show is not aimed at the sort of people who identify much with the strong silent type of mysterious character, they need dialogue to explain things. So Darth Maul was pretty mysterious in Episode I, but the story wasn't about him. And he did bugger all before getting cut in half making a noob mistake. Hardly any reason to form an awesome opinion about him. Just because he looked pretty cool... I don't think Maul has been ruined, I was expecting it to be terrible, but so far it has turned out pretty good. I found episode 21 to be disappointing, pretty much nothing happened. Dooku, Grievous, Anakin, Ahsoka, Obi Wan, Yoda etc etc etc all showed up for a minute or so but did nothing. I think the 2 episodes should've been aired together. I was expecting a death in the final episode, either Maul, Opress, Talzin or Ventress. Instead of that, we got a massacred planet. Very interesting to have the season end with all of them surviving, so many possibilities for next season. BTW I've never liked Boba Fett, overrated nonsense. -

Because Qui Gon Jinn only taught the ability to Obi Wan & Yoda. Why Anakin became a ghost is beyond me. -

Tough luck, no Battle For Hoth near me except at a shop that doesn't have sales. The other new games are fairly widespread along with Friends. While Target has a 20% off, Myer also has a difficultly worded sale including Lego at 20% off, as long as you buy at least 2 items. Ends tomorrow. (And an extra 30% off the already marked down price of many older sets.) K Mart have been selling the Knights Bus (Harry Potter) for $50 for a while, it is now $35. Nearly half price! Friends sets look quite nice. Might send one to my sister for her birthday, haha. Except she doesn't look like the one named after her. -

I believe it's to do with Lego not having the rights to release Star Wars board games over there. I'm sure TLG is a bit bummed, it would definitely sell like hothcakes ( ) -

With the Target 20% off starting tomorrow, the catalogue includes the new games City Alarm & Battle For Hoth. (Yes, the Star Wars one that won't be released in the US... so there should be plenty of Americans keen to buy this one via BL hint hint .) -
Problem with them all having double-sided heads is they'd all need helmets or a hair piece covering the back-face. Not necessarily a big problem, but bald heads would be a nice additional way to have variation.

More great stuff guys! Well, I was kinda hoping that there would be a way for all of our MOCs to "exist" in this Historica community build, but this way we can't put them on the maps or anything because they don't exist in anyone elses mind. My MOC will not be canonnnnn... -
Wow, who knew? After all these years... Cool idea, and you've pulled it off well. Nice motion smudge too, haha.

Yes, certainly! But no need to quote that entire post, especially straight after it. So I was wondering, how do we explain the existence of 10-20 ancient sites all containing the red crystal? Are all but one decoys? PS the date is missing... -
I meant no one say the thing that I know you're all thinking.

Great, but this topic is for movies, not 20 minute cartoons you couldn't finish. There are others for talking about SW, TCW, & animated TV shows. I guess you could truly call that a "failure to be epic" ... [NO ONE SAY IT ] Recently watched Major League & the sequel again. First one is better, Wesley Snipes as Willie Mays Hayes. Second one does have some good moments though. "Right Guard Sport Stick - anything less would be uncivilised. Upside Down. " Apparently there's a 3rd movie. It probably sucks.

Not sure if flattery would save you from being eaten in this case! I'm not so sure it's a dragon with those snake teeth. You're only saying that because you'd beat me anyway! I don't know of that movie. But I'm glad to have inspired someone! Building the eyes drove me nuts and took forever. And you're right about the swamp, but that was all I could build with what pieces I have. I imagined the setting to be like the image in the Nocturnus description. Thanks everyone

More likely reason is that the new mold required would never be used again.
-
That would be "revoke" not provoke! Provoking a Jedi is not a great idea, even if you are Mace Windu

Moruth Swamp Thing -
Moruth Swamp Thing All sorts of unmentionables live in the swamplands, here is a mentionable monster. Somewhat reptilian (little more than its head has ever been seen) it may be a giant serpent or it may resemble a dragon or crocodile. Usually if you see it, it's because you're lunch. Few have lived to report its whereabouts, but on this occasion its likeness was captured. As with many snakes, it can dislocate its jaw in order to swallow larger victims eg a dragon or rowboat.

On the plus side, Myer did have a lot of markdowns of older sets on clearance, with an additional 30% off that. And the nice girl spent 5 minutes working out a way to also give me another 10% off. Ended up with $250 RRP of Lego for $100. All is not yet lost!
