There is a new Legoland video from 1000steine member "golego" at .At the end you will see that there will be some BIG BOXES in the special-sale-tent. You even see what´s in it! Hip hip hurray!

I ordered 17 copies of that promo set this weekend. We can handle this at the event. 23 days... it´s coming in sight!
-
From what you quoted, you should be able to renew the pass in Günzburg because the special offer expires after our event. I´m not sure about the fact that your old pass expires before that date.

Well, I don´t think it´s too prelim - as you can hardly see anything new! We all know that there will be minifigs included, don´t we? What else does this picture say? But - phew - it´s good to see that we do get an advent calendar this year!
-
Very easy to build in the PF-modules. Could be done (and was done) by a 10 year old boy. Like Capt. Zuloo already pointed out, the EN is a set that expects to have PF added. Correct. This brings me to the idea of taking photos with the EN and the engine shed... I´ll keep you updated.

Dang! Due to a lack of time (sorting ca. 20 pounds of lego I recently bought from a colleague), Capt. Zuloo beat me with his review. Very well done, Zuloo, you made a marvellous job here! I have to second this! Your background fits very well to the train. I used boring grey plates instead. Your idea is so much better, I´m not willing to show my photos any more. The position of the IR receiver can be seen here: It´s in the middle of the tank (?) The two led´s are placed in the radar dish and in the light on top of it. This is how it would look like if you power the train with a standard battery box: I have to disagree to your ratings. Price: That´s the most expensive train Lego has ever released. So I cannot agree to a perfect 10. I´d give it a 9/10. Thinking of the fact that the set is almost 200€ with all PF in it´s less than 9. Build: The passanger car is quite boring, so is the tender. Again less points: 9/10 Parts: Just for the sticker sheet (that came in a very bad condition! ) it looses 1 point again. Buit I agree with the use of dark green and dark brown - Simply beautiful. And we have tan train windows!!! Summary: Not more than 9/10. This is a beautiful set, no doubt, but look at the minifigs for example: 2 with plain torsos? Well. 1 passenger car only? Oh boy. There is room for improvement, so it cannot be a 10/10. For those who haven´t seen it: This are photos of the Emerald Night in comparison to the "My own train" 10205:

Thank you for your reply. Concerning the price, I exactly thought the same. Seems that I have messed something up in my BS-folder. EDIT: wrong pics are fixed. You should see the alternative builds now. What I really wanted to post was: I´ve done my first RC-MOC with the big receiving unit - a red racer:

Some days ago I was able to get the Twin X-treme RC set 10€ off the normal price. My sons wanted an RC-controlled car - now they have it. And you get the review. Set: 8184 Twin X-treme RC Theme: Racers Year: 2009 Pieces: 239 Price: 49,99€ Links: Bricklink - instructions - S@H This is what Lego says: "Take control of this remote-controlled off-road racing truck for top speed on any terrain -- then swap on a different top to instantly customize your truck into an extreme off-road racecar! Includes RC controller with forward/back and left/right driving functions, all the pieces you'll need to create two different RC racer tops, and instructions online for building two alternative remote-controlled racing models. RC controller with forward/back and left/right driving functions included! Download instructions to build two alternative remote-controlled racing models! Requires 3 AA and 3 AAA batteries, not included. Cars measure over 6 inches (15cm) long!" The box: Nothing really special here. Inside the box: note the receiving unit (lower right corner) is packed in paper. The sticker sheet - yes, there are plenty stickers inside. This is one of two sets, that has got the new receiving unit with build in steering mechanism. So let´s have a look at it: I don´t know what motor TLC uses for this, and you can´t see anything as it is fully covered. The rear axle is the one which is "powered", the front axle (of course) is steerable. The remote control: It´s a normal PF IR RC (power functions infra red remote control ) At first glance I wondered about the strange position of the wheel (I´m used to have the steering wheel on top of the RC), but it works perfectly! You´ll nee batteries for this set: 3x AA (receiving unit) and 3x AAA (RC) Now let´s head over to the building section. Unusual, or not often to be seen parts: A random shot of the instructions: No piece callout??? How are we to finish it without? This is what the base looks with all bricks on (except the wheels): This base is used for two (actually four!, but I will come to that later) different cars. Either a white/red or a green/black one. Nice touch, that you get more than just one car! I like how TLC made use of the lamps at the front: clever! The truck without the base and the stickers: Completed: All together - the truck, the racer, the RC and the spare parts: More details in my BS-folder. When I looked at the cars, I thought "this reminds me of the Speed Racer sets". Now here is a comparision: They work very well together! With a little MOCing you will even be able to put a minifig inside. Unfortunately it only fits inside the truck: And finally I placed the stickers on. Okay, it does look better with stickers. The biggest surprise was, that the set gives instructions for two more cars! Of course you cannot build them all at once, but here are two very nice alternative models to the standard build: EDIT: wrong photos fixed. Overall rating: Playability: 5/5. This set is fun on 8 wheels! Cruising through the house with a RC car – how cool is that? Other RC sets are much more expensive – this is the cheapest set momentarily available that has full RC functions. My sons are both very enthusiastic about this set. Design: 4,5/5. 4 cars, 2 at one time buildable, that´s great! The huuuge sticker sheet makes 0,5 points off a perfect 5. Build: 3/5. Basic build, nothing special, no extraordinary bricks. The new receiving unit is rather big, that limits its use for future MOCs. Price: 4/5 Although 50€ is the cheapest way to get a Lego RC car, there are plenty ways to get RC cars cheaper besides Lego. 40€ was a winner and I would give it a 5/5. Price/piece ratio: 2/5 239 pieces and 50€ makes 20c per brick. We have seen better ratios. And the receiving unit is the only thing you can´t get in any other set besides 8184 and 8183. Minifig: 1/5. No minifigs included, but easily MOCable. Overall: 4/5 and a recommendation. If you want a fun set, then go buy it! Or buy set 8183 for 34,99€ which comes with one car only.

Exclusive Train 10194 Emerald Night (Exclusive 2009)
Holodoc replied to der seb's topic in LEGO Train Tech
You´re absolutely right! Thanks for pointing it out. I´m not at home in the moment, so I´ll have to check it later and will tell you how it worked. Well, mine wasn´t damaged from the outside because I picked it up at the Store in Oberhausen, BUT the sticker sheet came in very bad condition: crinkles all over the sheet and one sticker was missing! We have a topic about that, until now I thought I never would complain, but within this set my opinion changed. The sticker sheets should be placed inside the manual to avoid damage.- 559 replies

280 km from my home town... near is different. Hey, that´s a fair score taking into consideration "we (Germans)" buy a lot of Lego. Well, at least I do. Too much if you ask my wife.

According to Jan Beyer, there will soon be another (5th) Lego Store in Germany : It will be located in MyZeil, "Frankfurt’s premier shopping and leisure world" and will be opened in July. This will be the locations of all five Lego Stores in Germany in the future: ... there are still some spots to be filled...

Exclusive Train 10194 Emerald Night (Exclusive 2009)
Holodoc replied to der seb's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I made some photos to compare the Emerald Night with the older 10205 "My own train" in green. (I had to change the colors from blue to green for that, but that´s another story) The 10205 used to be a very nice train - until the moment the EN arrived... Then I wanted to build a Emarald Day - a solar powered engine. I used the solar panel and an older 9v motor for this: Somehow the wheels always got stucked at this position: I think the older 9V-motor is not strong enough to power the train. So it´s just sit and wait until the ordered PF-elements will arrive.- 559 replies

Exclusive Train 10194 Emerald Night (Exclusive 2009)
Holodoc replied to der seb's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Hello everyone! I got my Emerald Night two days ago in the Lego store Oberhausen. Sadly enough, they did not have the PF-upgrade set (collection), so I had to order it. At least I get the stamps for it. Today I got the first email, that my flexible track is on the way - no word about the battery box or the other stuff. I have build the Emerald Night together with my son, who build the passenger car. My job was the locomotive and the tender. All in all we build about two hours and it was fun! I´m planning to do a review, but I haven´t got the time right now, so I just show you the first pics. If you want some special details, let me know. After we had all put together, we thought we could build in the lights, the IR-receiver and the XL-motor (which we already own) to see what it looks like. Here are the pics: The battery box is NOT the one who will be used to power the train! But it works! in high speed only, of course. the interior with all the PF-stuff in it. This is how the locomotive will look like. I have to say I feared worse! It´s not as bad as it seemed on first pics. Okay, you can see the motor, but he is somewhat covered in the cabin. The IR-receiver in the middle of the loco. (blurry - I know...) The leftovers if you have replaced the normal bricks with the PF-elements. Stay tuned for a detailed review!- 559 replies
