I think in LEGO's head, kids will buy any Hobbit set as long as it has some cool monster-y looking thing, but kids aren't interested by any other DC character besides Batman. I think the reason they're so tentative about making Green Lantern is because the merchandise from the movie didn't sell well. That's why the animated series on Cartoon Network was cancelled. These companies oughta know by now that the reason the movie merch didn't sell is because the movie was awful, not because the character was. Martian Manhunter is probably best in a set along with another character anyway. He's not much on his own. I had a neat idea for Martian Manhunter set, though. It would be Batman and MM vs. Firefly, and Firefly would have MM trapped in a ring of fire (fire being his one weakness) and Batman would swoop in in his Bat*insert overused vehicle here*, probably wearing a special fire-proof Batsuit variant (probably not like the videogame one). It's a rough idea, but an idea nonetheless. I think LEGO could easily do a whole wave of DC sets with Justice League members facing off with assassins. Batman vs. Bane, Green Arrow vs. Merlyn, etc.

Happy Holidays, everyone! I finally got the Riddler Chase set, and I'm actually pretty surprised at how light the new Batmobile is compared to the old one. Flash looks pretty great standing with the rest of the Justice League, but I won't consider it a complete set until Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter come in, although maybe Cyborg will fill Martian Manhunter's spot.

Really though, It's extremely hard to find instructions for this thing, even though a few different people have made it. It would be crazy cool of you to send some instructions or the LDD file our way.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Rumors & Discussion
Numbuh1Nerd replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
There's no need to be embarrassed! The show's actually really good, despite any target audience. Never apologize for enjoying something, I mean we're all having a mostly intelligent discussion about plastic blocks that most people give up at the age of 10, so no shame bro! The new costumes are pretty much the lame outfits they gave the action figures, which really bums me out. My big problem with action figures is when they'll just make up lame variants just to sell the same figure twice. Most of them look okay in this case, though. Definitely capable of reusing those suits for other figures. Spiderbytez looks awesome, along with Leatherhead. I hope when Killer Croc comes back to the DC wave he'll look more like that. I really hope we get Mutagen Man, Metalhead, Slash, and Casey Jones in this wave. I saw a neat custom Metalhead that would be perfect online. From the look of things they're still catching up with Season 1, so I doubt Slash and Casey will show up. Mutagen Man's also kind of unlikely. -
It is a neat take on the Batplane. I like the Batwing better, but the plane seems very different and still worth owning. Although, the wing-clamp thing is still pretty stupid. Maybe the Juniors Blue-and-Grey Batman would look good in it, giving it kind of a Golden/Silver-age look?

Well, it's the same Bats we've seen a hundred times, albeit with the wrong cape. The pose and the background are alright, but I don't know about interesting.

I'm sure if LEGO makes Iceman, he'll look very similar to his appearance in the game. That would make him light blue, maybe trans light blue. Heck, he looks pretty plausible since his in game model hasn't any leg or arm printing, just an icy texture that can be easily done without or accomplished with trans pieces.

I'm pretty sure Nightcrawler is supposed to be DLC for the game, and he wouldn't necessarily need a new mold. They could probably get away with using the Werewolf CMF hair, or maybe even the spiky hair they gave Nightwing. Of course, preferably, it would have the spiky hair but with ears like the in-game model of Nightmare. The tail could just be printed on the back of the figure. Even if they did make new molds, they'd definitley be able to use them in other themes, like LOTR or other Superheroes sets. The only fault I see in Nightcrawler showing up in the X-Men set is a lack of mainstream popularity. Although I'm sure this won't be our only X-Men set, and he will show up eventually.

I know everyone was complaining about getting a second Batmobile, albeit with a new design, but I have an idea that might change your minds about the inevitable repeat Batmobiles: Well, obviously they'll keep making variants on the Batmobiles, but what if each one was based exclusively on an official design? One wave gets a 60's Batmobile, the next has Frank Miller's massive tank-like Batmobile, a third gets the Batmobile from Batman Beyond, and so on. That way the kiddies get their obligatory vehicle, and the DC fans and AFOLs get something to geek over. Everyone wins!

I love the bigfigs, too. I just hope they don't stay Marvel exclusive, as DC's got plenty of characters that could use that treatment. Doomsday, Bane, Killer Croc, Solomon Grundy, Atom Smasher, and Darkseid just to name a few. Heck, Grundy could be made with a simple repaint of Hulk if necessary.

I thought that the bike was pretty cool, but other than that these are pretty annoying. I mean, what advantage could a trike have over a flying motorcycle?

I think it's safe to say that Thing will be a big fig, given he's like that in the game and he's physically on par with the Hulk. I think that it's not so much about Pepper being "just a person in a suit" but that she's not a full-time dedicated hero in the films like Iron Man.

I know we got a lot of Iron Man sets, but I would still love to see more visually diverse Iron Man suits like the Hulkbuster, Gemini, Mark 1, Mark 2, and Red Snapper. All the ones we got were reprints of the same basic designs.

I thought Cyclops and Jean were coming back through time travel mumbo jumbo? Even so, they're the two X-Men that they had you play as in the first X-Men level of LEGO Marvel, so they probably consider them to be pretty important. I dunno about them using Magneto again, but knowing LEGO it's quite a possibility. Now THAT would be cool. Maybe if they do that we'll get a Collosus to give the Juggernaut a run for his money?

I do hope you're right, although my list of desired X-Men is getting ridiculously long. One things for sure, if I don't see Gambit and Archangel the way they look in the game I'll be very disappointed. Most likely we'll just wind up with Storm, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Professor X, and a Wolverine with his cowl, probably going up against Mystique or a Sentinel. The actual build will probably be the X Mansion, a Sentinel, or the Blackbird/X-Jet. I doubt it's movie-based. It's more likely that the tesseract is clear instead of blue in the Avengers Assemble cartoon.

I don't keep up with Ultimate Spider-Man, but I know for a fact that the Iron Spider suit was in there at some point, and by all the variety they have for the action figures, I'm sure there's been a few other suits at one point or another. Besides, if they got away with classic Doc Ock in a set, I'm sure they could toss Superior Spider-Man or Miles Morales's Spider Suit in a set somewhere. If there not going to give us a new suit, at least make Peter Parker (maybe in a battle-damaged suit?). Problem: Spiderwoman was an Comic Con exclusive. Isn't there a license to those that keep them from being in a set? I agree with you on your female character choices, and I'd add She-Hulk, Wasp, Invisible Woman, Psylocke and Jubilee, even though a couple of those have been made purist. I was never a fan of the two trans sticks for his escrimas, so I made some similar to the Arkham City ones with the flick-fire missile pieces, a light blue trans stud, and a silver stud. They look alright and make a decent looking bo staff when combined with a lightsaber hilt.

The sets are alright (The Spidey vehicles actually look a bit better this time around, if you ask me, but I still think they're gimicky) but the minifigs are really what sell these to me. Classic Doc Ock looks great, and he's got a hair piece I've (somehow) never gotte n before. Ultimate Electro is surprising from the classic look they gave him in the prelims, but super cool nonetheless. Of course Power Man and MJ are awesome, although Ultimate Green Goblin doesn't do anything for me. I'll definitely be picking up the Cap set for Red Skull, the Hydra Goon, and the new Captain America. The new Thor doesn't impress me quite as much as the others, especially not as much MODOK, although his chair should be included as part of the fig on the box. Purple-pants Hulk took far too long to get here and Taskmaster seems kinda out of place in that set. Pretty pleased for the most part on this batch, although I'm sure it wouldn't of killed them to swap out a Spidey set for the (hopefully one of many) X-Men set, just to add some diversity to the wave.

Isn't the new Spidey suit pretty much the same as the comic book version? Those new DC figs look really good, much better than they did on the boxes. Damian's alternate face looks great, much more Damian than the other one, and Scuba Batman's actually looking pretty cool. Probably one of the better Batman variants, along with the Beware the Batman suit. I'll probably wind up giving that Batman black hands, just to make him look a bit more like the comic book version.

You're not far off, TheBrickDr. He's doing the whole dark and broody creature-of-the-night thing and a bunch of his baddies have been changed up to be nearly ripoffs of Batsy's rogues. Count Vertigo's a drug-dealing Joker (But I love him anyway), Brother Blood is a LOT like Scarecrow from Batman Begins, right down to the mask, and he's essentially making Venom a la Bane. It's still a pretty great series, one that would be pretty good for sets and minifigs of characters we're not likely to see for awhile (My hopes are on Deadshot and Black Canary), although his costume is slowly but surely turning into the one from the SDCC exclusive Green Arrow. It would at least be cool to get an unofficial tie-in like the Beware the Batman figure in the Flash set.

Are you sure those aren't cable channels? Because I have basic cable and I get all of those channels. I really like the brighter, more comic-accurate figures, but the live-action ones of DC's look good so far, especially next to the rest of the JLA minifigures (if you Google LEGO Justice League, there's a really good picture using the Dark Knight Batman and Man of Steel Superman, as well as a bunch of custom minifigures.)

So Young Justice is possibly getting a live-action TV series on the CW based on the cartoon (http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/12/02/young-justice-the-live-action-tv-series-for-the-cw/) Do you think this could improve the chances of getting Young Justice-based sets? Maybe if the DC TV Universe expands more like this other TV shows like Arrow and Agents of SHIELD could get sets?

Hey guys, I've been following this thread for awhile now and decided to finally toss in my two cents about all of this. I'm a pretty big comic fan (particularly DC, but Marvel's been catching my attention more and more recently), so this theme has specifically caught my attention. I've been a LEGO fan for 7 years (a little less than half the time I've been alive, fyi). I'll start with DC: Overall, I'm excited for this wave. The new Batman/Flash set looks pretty cool, and while the new variants for Bats and Riddler aren't great in their current state, they'll make for good customs of each character. Flash is one of my favorite characters, so the new fig can't come quick enough for me. Although, as many of you have said, Flash could really use some boots. He looks off without any extra yellow. The Penguin set is pretty neat, albeit not a high priority for me as someone who'd rather have characters than sets. I'll buy it when the opportunity presents itself, but not immediately for sure. Man-Bat's debut set is alright, with the obligatory Batcopter looking like overkill for little ol' Man-Bat. I love Nightwing, so getting him'll be a treat, although I plan on replacing his hair. Man-Bat could've been better, but luckily LEGO's provided us with plenty of replacement Bat-parts in oter sets. The Steamroller is a must-have for me. I love the new Joker, I love Batgirl, and most of all I love Damian Wayne. I'm a huge fan of Robin, so I'm not going to complain too much about Robin variants. The same old out-dated Batman is getting old, though. I really don't like the all black costume or the yellow background on the Bat-symbol. I much prefer the classic blackand gray with Batman: TAS symbol. The lack of any Batman-free sets kinda sucks, but I can deal with that as long as it's not just Batman in every one. Of course, I'd love to see a Teen Titans or Young Justice set and Green Lantern, Cyborg, and Martian Manhunter minifigures (plus many more) but until these characters are proven to be as safe a bet financially as the Caped Crusader, we'll have to wait for them to round off the Bat Family (hopefully with Red Robin and Red Hood) for them to become Batman's sidekicks. On to Marvel: I'm pretty disappointed by the lack of Winter Soldier and Dark World sets as well. Thor 2 is kinda understandable, though, given he's not quite as popular as the rest of the Avengers and the movie doesn't really offer much in the way of LEGO's usual vehicle-vs-vehicle sets. I'm especially disappointed by the Winter Soldier's skip, because I actually really like Cap, and the Winter Soldier looks pretty BA in the trailers. The Spider-Man sets are going the way of the Batman sets: ridiculous vehicle-on-vehicle action with a special guest. Of course, I'd still like to get them all, mostly for the new charcters introduced in them. I'm not a fan of the cartoon, but I'm all for Nova, Luke Cage, and any other B list heroes they can give us. Hopefully Daredevil and Punisher make their way to USM. The Doc Ock variant is really great, hopefully a Green Goblin one will come around next wave. I'm not too into Ultimate Green Goblin, but I'd like to see more Big Figs, so baby steps I suppose. They really seem to be tackling their lack of villains, with Electro, Green Goblin, Red Skull, MODOK, and Taskmaster (I may have forgotten someone) coming soon, all of which will be pretty cool. I'm definitely looking forward to MODOK and Red Skull. Red Skull's tank doesn't matter a whole lot to me, if I like it I'll keep it, if not I'll have some scrap. The Lab sounds super cool, the more locations we can get the better! A Hulk variant would be cool if it's true, and the classic Cap sounds great. I think someone mentioned Falcon, which would be awesome. The new Mary Jane is awesome and definitely more motivation to buy the GG set. Gaurdians sets will be cool, especially if the minifigs look like their video game counterparts, but I'm most excited about new X-Men. It also looks like we'll be waiting quite awhile for a Hulkbuster, and even longer for sets not based solely on movies and cartoons. I mean, at least go halfway and make something for Agents of SHIELD (this idea looks great: lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/50376 ) or the new Netflix series. Meh, whatever. This whole wave of Superheroes stuff sounds pretty cool, although none of it's too surprising. This was a lot of very safe bets and repeated ideas, which certainly won't cut it forever. Eventually, though, LEGO, DC, and Marvel are going to get a little more comfortable with taking chances with lesser known characters that aren't Batman or in a movie.
