Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Numbuh1Nerd replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
This Spidey news makes me wonder about that Electro polybag. We saw it a few months ago, but then it went quiet and now it resurfaces days before this announcement. A few months ago, this same topic was in question. Did Lego know that this was going to go down ahead of time? Polybags are pretty randomly released, right? They don't correspond with waves and such? Because if a deal like this is in place, I really could see us getting an ASM or ASM2 variant Spider-Man or Green Goblin in one. It's very possible that we could get a Spider-Man related post-credit sequence at this point, since there are still about 3 months until the film's release, and it doesn't take long for them to film those, but the odds of them already having recast the role with a costume fitted and everything are slim to none. Maybe one that insinuates that Webhead's on the MCU team now through some newspaper headlines or an Oscorp easter egg or something, but no sight of our actual friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, so an MCU-based fig at this point is not going to happen. Do you guys think that now that Marvel is more invested in Spider-Man that he could get even more sets? The cartoon is ending (I think), but maybe now they'll start doing comic sets in the vain of Batman over in DC, or even start production on another cartoon for sets to spawn from. -

This would've been an excellent opportunity for someone like Daredevil, who is about to get very popular very fast. Same sort of printing, no headgear or anything, just a standard minifig. -

I like the little robot dude, but Spidey isn't needed and I don't know what I'm gonna do with all of those disastrous super jumpers. Would it have been too hard to make it 2099 Spidey, or Symbiote Spidey, or Scarlet Spider, or Future Foundation Spidey, or Superior Spidey, or even Spider-Gwen? I can get not using Miles Morales or Iron Spider, since they're going to be selling points of larger sets, but if they can afford to include a Rocket Racoon with bicolor leg molding and arm printing, could they have not made a new Spider-Man, even one without much detail? Maybe a few years ago they had a big misunderstanding about how many Spider-Man minifigs to make and are now just trying to get rid of as many as they possibly can? -

Sadly, I'd have to say the same. The set's really unimpressive, and the price is way too high. Plus it looks fairly large, and I don't have a lot of display room or the guts to take it apart. Unless they make some major improvements, I'll just be buying BB, Starfire, Robin, and Harley separately. I do like that Batmobile, but $120 just isn't worth it. -

He's got a really interesting look, especially compared to the other villains in these movies (i.e, Lizard, Osbourne's lacky, sickly Osbourne, and Sony Pictures). I think the Amazing Spider-Man movies are nearly perfect interpretations of the character and world. Obviously they have their week spots *cough*50% of the sequel being poorly written sequel bait*coughcough* but Spidey is spot-on despite being more hipster and nerd and all of the villains stemming from Oscorp is really clever and great. -

You probably could just stick Electro's head on a black Stormtrooper torso or something and get the look, but I won't complain about this. It looks pretty neat, and it seems to open the door for more Amazing Spider-Man stuff from Lego. Maybe we could see Green Goblin or Gwen Stacy next? -

I'd love to see a lot of those sets, too. Especially the (admittedly improbable) Flash Museum. Especially if we could get Linda Park in there, a la the Flash and Substance episode of JLU. -

Looks great! Gives me some ideas for Azrael, actually.

Perfect reason to just have one thread set up for future sets in the theme as opposed to just yearly ones. -

They wouldn't let any Episode VII stuff out before the wide release of the movie, or at least the sets. They're gonna keep that stuff locked up tight, and featuring it in an unrelated video game (especially a LEGO video game, after the fiasco with the first Avengers sets and the Chitauri) is the last thing they would do.- 647 replies

He's like a prime candidate to be getting one of those clocks. I don't know why they don't do that for characters like him who couldn't reasonably be in sets. It's not like they make less money from it. I was hoping that we'd get a polybag on par with Joker's bumpercar from the DC side. Not necessarily a new fig, but a neat minifig-scale build. Even something like the Rocket Racoon one would've been nice. The mini-models just don't appeal to me. -
That sounds awesome! Now I'm excited! I love me some Titans, and those are some guys I've wanted to add to my collection for awhile!

His design in that really does suck. ._. I was thinking Leader would work, as he's a Hulk villain that's minifig sized. -

I'm surprised they haven't done one already. Maybe since USM is getting axed(?) they'll give their only other setless animated show a shot? I'd love to get She-Hulk above the other Hulks personally, but I'm not opposed to a Rulk or A-Bomb. (Say, is Abomination in that show? Because he'd make a good villain if they don't mind 2 bigfigs.) -
Thanks, man, that means a lot!

Great torso choice, raminator! That looks crazy good!

Got some new DC guys, mostly based on what's been going on in the TV shows (not the designs, just the characters)! The Atom Obsidian (New 52) Mist Felix Faust Queen Bee Peek-a-Boo (my personal favorite of the bunch) Lobo (New 52)

I figured Daredevil, Luke Cage, etc. would just be unlockables, same with the Agents of SHIELD crew, but a DLC pack for the Defenders would make a lot of sense. I doubt the AoS guys could justify a DLC pack, though, but would be pretty good as unlockable characters. If Aunt May, Gwen Stacy, and any number of Henchman can get a slot, why not these guys? I'd say they'd just use their traditional designs from Lego Marvel as far as the unproduced characters. Don't forget Absorbing Man!- 647 replies

Good luck! I'm hoping that it's Coulson in some kind of generic SHIELD outfit. The best of both worlds. Preferably Coulson over not-Coulson for me, though. I love the guy and my purist version isn't as great as I want him to be. He'd make a good pre-order bonus, though. I think they'll have to get around to making Stan Lee at some point; the question is how exclusive he'll be. -

I was really hoping that the Wayne Manor set would make it. Of course they'd scale it down a lot, but it would still be worth getting the Manor for the first time, along with a new, more fitting Batcave with some of the famous trophies, plus some less obvious Bat-family and rogues figures. Hopefully this doesn't keep them from making a regular set based on Wayne Manor with Alfred included. Maybe we should try supporting their other Batman project: the front gate of the manor with Alfred and Red Robin? Still holding out for the X Mansion, but that's probably just blind hope. Wall-E was a little disappointing, but Dr. Who seems like it'll produce some great sets as well as a nice well of flesh-tone minifig parts (let's be honest, this isn't going to be a one-off set). Do you guys think that that Big Bang Theory set we're getting will have any DC elements? Their living room in the show has a lot of DC statuettes and such, which could mean some DC microfigures if they get detailed with it? -
LEGO Marvel's Avengers Video Game Discussion

I'd say it'll include all the MCU characters (and everyone Marvel Studios has the rights to) as well as Spider-Man and the characters from Ultimate Spider-Man (which is likely the only reason Marvel isn't putting a harsh ban on Web-head, too). I'd like to see the guys from Agents of SHIELD, and the majority of the heroes and villains from the upcoming Netflix shows. (Purple Man minifig??)- 647 replies

The real question is how much the kids would want it. What if it's the Collector? Lego released the other SDCC exclusive this year (Rocket Racoon) so maybe they were saving the other one for this? I'm just trying to think of some unexpected stuff, since I don't think anyone saw Plastic Man coming. Malekith, maybe? A SHIELD Agent from the show? Or maybe someone from the Netflix shows? -

Not my point. At the end of the day, this is a toy for children, and Lego has proven to be a little sexist from time to time. The fact that they go out of their way to make sure every female minifigure they produce has a clear hourglass figure bothers me, especially more than the fictional plot of a movie. The argument you've made is about as substantial as claiming the Hulk creates unrealistic expectations for green people. Howard the Duck would require new molds, though, and they tend not to do that for exclusive figures. Stan Lee on the other hand... -
Thanks a bunch! I got it from Lupin in one of the Harry Potter sets, but I don't think I've seen one since. It'd be nice, though, since I'm currently using it for Elongated Man and we're probably going to have the pieces for Carrie in flesh long before we have an actual Carrie Kelley minifigure.
