DC Superheroes 2016 - Rumors and Discussion

I definitely wouldn't hold your breath for Ted Kord. They didn't even put him in Tt Games' love letter to DC, and that game had 5 different Batmans excluding the DLC specifically consisting entirely of other Batmans.- 8,446 replies

Definitely getting the bridge set now. The new web piece, the figures, they're just too good to pass up. Kinda bummed that we're getting Ultimate Spider-Woman here and not Spider-Gwen or even the new 616 Spider-Woman. That's not a great costume and it's not even like she's in anything. Gobby's looking a lot more like he did in the video game, and I'm assuming that the fire piece on his pumpkin bomb is the one that Ghost Rider's going to have, too. -

Side note: in that picture with the new baby piece, the box shows someone in a wheelchair. Two ways I see this: 1.Oracle just became a lot more plausible and 2.If nothing else, the purist custom scene is going to explode with Oracle figs soon!- 8,446 replies

Given that the Arkham Knight Red Hood wears a black and white jacket with a not-quite-a-bat symbol on it and the New 52 Red Hood wears a brown jacket with a definitely-a-bat symbol on it and we've already got confirmation that he's just got a printed head as opposed to a hood on top of that, I'd say probably not. Actually no, he says "Superman appears in his comic book garb", no mention of classic. Really it only rules out the Man of Steel suit, although it probably will still be the underpants-on-the-outside Supes. I'm holding onto hope until I definitely hear otherwise, though.- 8,446 replies

BLUE BEETLE?? Aight, nevermind, Scarecrow set is definitely absolutely no doubt going to be mine. It sounds like a lot of these designs are coming from Lego Batman 3, with Captain Boomerang being from the Suicide Squad DLC. Funnily enough, I finally found a connection between Killer Moth and this whole Suicide Squad theme: he was actually IN that DLC level! Blue Beetle now seems to be the odd one out, though.. Perhaps it's meant as a loose tie-in to the Justice League v Teen Titans movie coming out later this year? He's the only member of their lineup of Titans we don't have yet apart from Raven, who's probably being saved for something a bit different, like a Dimensions pack or a polybag, or perhaps a bigger set next year. Or maybe Blue is just supposed to make for a bug vs bug sorta thing with Killer Moth? I dunno. Ooo, hey, he said everything was pretty much based on the New 52 designs, is there anyone that specifically says that that's not carrying over to Superman in the Juniors set? Because as down as I am to get Lex in his armor finally, that would become a much easier buy for me if it came with the new Superman.- 8,446 replies

I both love and hate the fact that you can play as the other Ghostbusters with just one Venkman. Just like the Doctor, I'd much rather see the others in Fun Packs. That way I can actually afford the figures, keep track of the characters on the toy pad better, and play as all four at once without having to sped $90 extra.

Nice to see Spidey's rogues gallery is expanding! It's gonna be hard for me to justify getting the bridge battle, despite how much I want that Scarlet Spider and Green Goblin, but if that Spider-Girl somehow turns out to be Spider-Gwen I'd have no choice! It seems weird that they're doing Gwen's dad before Gwen, but I guess it's better to have an actual character instead of a generic cop. I don't mind Ghost Rider getting a huge bike, since we've got plenty of options for regularly sized motorcycles. The thought that he might be getting a new piece for his flaming head seems really odd, since it would be passable and they JUST made that piece. Then again, I don't think I'll ever quite be satisfied with flaming minifigure parts until we manage that Hunger Games fake fire technology Vulture and White Tiger are selling that Doc Ock set for me, and I don't think I'd mind too much having an extra classic Doc Ock. The Doctor Strange set sounds really interesting and I can't wait for new details. That's easily the biggest hint we've had yet about the villain in this movie. Hoping at least one of these Spider-Man figs is a variant, though, and that one of the smaller sets come with boots. -

I didn't expect to see so many Squad members from the movie! Deadshot, Harley, and Croc, sure, but Captain Boomerang and Katana? I am all about this. I'm surprised that Killer Moth is included, though, because like, what has he been in? What is he doing? He wasn't even all that noteworthy a villain when they put him in the games, just a great joke. It's so weird, but I dig it. Red Hood is also a welcomed surprise. I just wonder if they'll go for the simple leather jacket version or one of his more recent, more superhero-y outfits. The farmer's a bit of a bummer, though. I was looking forward to the Scarecrow set mostly out of hope that we'd get an expansion on the Batfamily or a blue Nightwing, but no, just an "action figure" variant of Batman and a presumably screaming farmer. At least we're getting Scarecrow and Killer Moth, though, and the sewer set seems to be making up for those crushed dreams.- 8,446 replies

That head and torso are just perfect for Felicity! Finally, the Big Bang Theory causes something good lol I'm really loving that Arkham Knight. I'd like to see how that combo looks with the old black cowl, though. Is that torso in any set still on shelves?

A lot of the licensed figs we've seen show up in normal sets (Beware Batman, ASM2 Electro, etc) were likely due to them being planned for sets before some businessy stuff went down. Beware the Batman was cancelled not too long before the Riddler Chase, and I'd say Marvel pulled the plug on the ASM2 sets for whatever reason. The new Joker almost definitely hasn't had a figure designed of him yet, and will plenty of opportunity to down the line, given, y'know, he's the Joker. It might be a while, but we'll see him. Glad to hear that Croc is definitely a bigfig. The old Croc minifig always felt off to me because of how small he was. I think it's kinda funny, though, that all of the comments about Killer Croc on every Suicide Squad video complain that he's just a guy in makeup and not a practical effect, because he should be way bigger, but over here a bunch of you are complaining about him being a big fig because he should be smaller. Somewhere between Lego fans and YouTube commenters lays the perfectly proportioned Killer Croc- 8,446 replies

That Venom symbiote is soooo weird. I don't know if it's good weird or bad weird yet, though. I can't really find any use for 5 Venom heads, but I'm surprised that this wasn't just a Spidey figure and one of those black blobs included with that Venom/Nick Fury set. -

I dunno, I think it's pretty important that they give Deadshot arm printing. The wrist-mounted guns are kinda his thing. He wouldn't quite be Deadshot without them. EDIT: oops, somebody else got to defending the arms first- 8,446 replies

Those two look great! I really like the second hair piece for Marvin, and I might consider a bob cut for Wendy, just to see how it looks. If I had that Max torso and a spare Velma I'd probably do the same thing now! I looked at that one, too. I'm not sure which would work better. The Spalko torso is a lot cleaner and crisper and fits a certain design for Jonah, but this one looks very fitting. Tough call... :/

Falcon really could use some more detail. The solid grey arms make him look kinda dorky, like he's just wearing some kind of weird jumpsuit. -
That's the torso I was looking at. I think I might go with that, I just figured I'd run the question by you guys just in case I missed some hidden gem.

As much as I would've liked a new face, I don't think I mind the Star-Lord one all that much. It works fine, and I think he's gonna be a bit more smirky in Civil War. There's a lot of new prints and stuff going into these figures, I can live with this. Cap's hair on the other hand... The 2012 Robin hair IS his hair. Why is it so hard for them to just give him that hair? Why? -
Does anybody have any good torso ideas for Jonah Hex? Whatever I get I'll have to buy, so I figured I might as well buy the best option out there.

I'm actually pretty excited to see what we get for the DC Superhero Girls stuff. I mean, I'll probably wind up being disappointed, but in the mean time..! I just hope that Lego understands the minidoll criticism, or at least that if they do superhero minidolls the Internet will go apes*** (I can practically read the Mary Sue article now). I'm not crazy about all of the designs, but it's different enough for me to have some interest, and there's a lot of characters that wouldn't get much chance in a set any other way.- 8,446 replies

But Man-Bat's not a hard concept to sell in toys. Even Imaginext has a Man-Bat. Plus he lends himself to a set really well: you either make a bell tower or some sort of Bat-flying machine. Ra's al Ghul is a lot harder. He's just some a guy with a sword who doesn't die so long as he takes a bath. It's certainly not impossible to put him in a set and do it well, but he's much more difficult than the likes of Man-Bat or the Ventriloquist, who really only needs a truck.- 8,446 replies

Woah, how is this the first I'm seeing of this?? Not really sure I have much of an opinion given I can't make out the texture on the red parts and the fact that it looks pretty standard for ol' Webhead. -
I like that Peter! Clark would probably use the same head as the Clark from that DVD and maybe even that same S-curl hair. Bruce's head would probably be one of these three (1) (2) (3) with some sort of black slicked-back hair. Clark could use the tan suit torso from the Harry Potter werewolf guy (Lupin, right? I pretty much just consider him Werewolfy McWerewolf with as subtle as his name is lol) and maybe a brown trenchcoat if you're willing to cut capes. Bruce's torso from the old 2006 sets would work pretty well here, maybe also with a black trenchcoat cut from a cape. Her torso looks to be the hardest part. There really aren't any designed like that that I can find. Just try out about every black female torso you've got on hand. There're some leaked pictures online of her in a different outfit than the one from the trailer that you could manage with the Juno Eclipse torso, some white arms, and a skirt. The best head is probably the Harleen Quinzel one from Arkham Asylum, and I'd try either bob cut hair piece in black. Hope this helps!

Scarface and the Ventriloquist is (are?) one of my favorite Batman villains. I really just love the idea. The perfect sort of real-world psychosis that's also sort of colorful and fun. He would've made for a great easter egg in the Nolan movies (y'know, if Nolan ever actually cared about Batman as a character ) As weird as Scarface could look, I'm willing to accept it. If it's Two-Face, I'd still be perfectly fine with that. I'm surprised we haven't seen him again already, since he's one of the 5 most well-known Batman villains. I just hope he's well-utilized and isn't just the same figure we saw with that first Batmobile.- 8,446 replies

I feel like Spider-Girl is the least likely here. Not only is she a, well, she (and you know how Lego is about those lol) but her design is also too identical to Peter's. I'd say Spider-Noir, 2099, and classic Spidey are gonna be in the Bridge Battle, maybe with Spyder-Knight. I'd say in Doc Ock's set we'll see White Tiger or, if that "she" comment before is more accurate than I'd hoped, Agent Venom. (side note: I would not at all doubt that Lego would replace any of those with another Miles Morales figure) -

$270 is quite the bummer, especially with the exclusion of Batgirl. Should've figured that they'd include Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson for the famous Batpole bit. Maybe they'll find some means of giving her to us, like a polybag or a movie or something? I think she probably deserved to be in here more than Alfred did, given the show's about half-responsible for her creation if I remember my DC history correctly. Still, I'd love to have this thing. I'm gonna hope I get lucky when my birthday rolls around but otherwise I'll probably have to pass. It's such a shame, too, since this is the only way to get one of the most (if not THE most) iconic Robins of all time, and I am all about that Boy Wonder. :( Maybe that's what they're doing: $200-some for the '66 Batcave and $15 for the two desks that make up the Nolan Batcave Okay, for $270 dollars they could've AT LEAST finally given Riddler a molded cane. I've been fairly chill about this for a long time but if you're gonna dedicate this much effort and money into such an expensive set at least take the opportunity to invest in a character you continually re-release. The cane, Robin, and Batgirl would've pushed me over the edge as far as getting this thing.- 8,446 replies
