  1. heres an idea that i thought was good, may be a little late for 4.0. but here goes, something like a set manager built into LDD, you enter which sets you own into LDD, then you go and build something using only the parts included with those sets, the program will tell you how many of which pieces you have in build mode. it will give you the option to use more than the amount of pieces included in your sets that you put into LDD and let you buy those extra pieces through pick a brick, of course, this idea would mostly apply to sets released that have pieces still being produced by TLG
  2. oh well, theres always amazon, but they want $50 more than what lego.com wants
  3. i know this, but i wont be able to buy it until december.
  4. sorry to steer this topic off discussion, but is there a good chance this model will be available on the lego shop site in december? preferably at its current price?
  5. here is video of the building process:
  6. just got done with building the alternate model for Mobile Crane 8053 i really love the latching thingy that attaches to the included cargo. i may keep this model sitting around for now until i can come up with something to do with pieces from this set as this is the only lego set i currently own
  7. Here is the video of the build process: -video deleted-
  8. This is the first time I have touched Lego in 9 years. I got this set yesterday and spent 5 hours putting it together over a span of 8 hours. I missed a few gears when I realized something wasnt working right after i was done putting together, luckily with some careful prying apart of some pieces and the help of a few screwdrivers, I was able to put the 2 gears in without tearing apart the whole arm lift section. There were a few extra pieces when I was done, but I was able to find a place for them since I dont have any containers for holding lego pieces..yet. (In this image, you can see a few extra pieces that where in the box after completion) I also recorded the build process, it is a 5 hour video that I am currently working on to compress it into a much much smaller timeframe, this compression started this morning and it is only just halfway done, I fear that I will not be awake when it finishes.
  9. boooo! jk lol
  10. set #735 was my first lego set, so i decided to build most of it in LDD. some parts where not in LDD, so i decided to make some changes to it. if someone wishes to have the lxf file, i would upload, but would need someone to suggest a host (made in universe mode)
  11. in Akron, you?
  12. I came to this site during the summer after learning about Lego universe mode for Lego Digital Designer. I grew up with Lego during the 90's, I loved the Town/city sets like Century Airport and Launch Command series. it has been about 9 years since I last touched any actual Lego stuff and I am breaking that dry spell by today having purchased Technic set 8053 which should arrive on Wednesday. I am gonna stick with the Technic series since i do not have enough room in my apartment to have whole worlds of Lego minifig scale sets.
  13. SpiderSpaceman, im pretty sure i have seen that very last piece you posted a pic of in LDD under the technic brick thingy icon near the top. one piece i would like to see are minifig hands, i see then used in many creations on flickr and thought it would be nice for micro scale use in ldd
  14. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=54701c01 i notice that LDD has the forward section of the aircraft of this size, but i cant seem to find this piece from sets: 3182 and 3184
  15. before i came across this site and lego universe mode, i would have suggested they put in every piece made within the last 20-25 years to every piece ever made. i would like to see flexible parts and string and i would also like to see a way to have wheels and axles flatten to the ground, kinda like a dragster effect(small wheels up front, large in the rear, the vehicle slanted downwards)without the hinge tool and, the ability to place objects on smooth surfaces(vehicles on roadplates included with lego universe mode)
  16. this is a true imagination mode right here. this takes me back to my lego days from the with the pieces i remember kudos to this site for revealing this to us longtime lego fans
