  1. Please take some pictures of the inventory in the back of the building instructions, so the part numbers are clearly visible. Thanks in advance.
  2. This is absolutely weird to look at. Just that someone took the time to rebuild this just using pictures and a digital file of the chassis... Great work filling in the gaps that weren't covered by either. And spending 600 bucks just to get the parts? Wow. That gets me thinking about how I didn't have to order anything for this, I just had it lying around...
  3. At some point better algorithms won't help anymore. The human eye and brain have got millions of years of evolution, and there's simply no software that will replicate it anytime soon. If you'd compare the mosaics I make, and the pictures they're made from, you'd see that they're not completely accurate. I've exaggerated edges, lines and fine details so they'd stand out, or completely rework eyes and hands so they work better given the limitations of the bricks. Any idea if you'll include mosaics with multiple orientations?
  4. Some examples of said mosaics: However, even though the computer does most of the grunt work, all of these have had a lot of manual tweaking before they're good enough. I hope your program supports some kind of editing after the software has had a go at it.
  5. How about you decide for yourself. Bye!

  7. The new requirement: Print this logo on a piece of paper, and include it in the picture of your submission.
  8. The 4th gear can be added in a diff; it'll stay there because the other gears won't allow it to fall out. It has no function, though.
  9. Er. It shows how the wheels move in the right direction. It doesn't really show it turning under it's own power, standing on the ground.
  10. It sat on my Flickr for some time (pictures here), and for a while I thought I should make a nice movie for it. It's been a month or so, and I don't think I feel like doing that movie anymore. So here's the short version:
  11. Erik Leppen; I understand your concerns. That's what I do. For almost every creation on this page there are multiple pictures of the functionality, internals and techniques. Every time I use a strange part it's annotated with a link to bricklink. That is not going away. And for some people, those pictures are enough. To you, me and most hardcore AFOLs it's second nature to figure these constructions out. However, most people either don't have the time or the insight to build like that. And in the end it's simple: I'm sacrificing a big chunk of time I'd rather spend doing other things. I'm hoping for some kind of compensation. That is all.
  12. Just so we're on the same page, I'm talking about this one: I've considered making instructions for it. However, it would be a very time-intensive project. We're talking about 400 pages of instructions, and at least a full month of work. Since I already know how to build one, I don't need instructions and I'd rather use my time for other things. However, some of you might want them. The instructions would not be like Lego's instructions. They'd look like this, perhaps a bit more polished. They'd be delivered as a zip file with JPGs, or a gigantic PDF. If you want it printed, you'll have to do so yourself. There is of course the problem of piracy. Undoubtedly, some jackass will eventually try to sell this on ebay or wherever. As a countermeasure, I will release these instructions for free eventually. I'm thinking about a timeframe of 6-12 months. 'So why pay for it, then?' Well, because you'll have a head start. And if nobody does, this thing will not get made. Don't like these prospects? Then please don't give me your money. However, if you're capable of getting $350 worth of parts to build this thing, I'm sure you can spare some bucks for little ol' me.
  13. Review: 10/10 Great explanation, excellent pictures. Well done.
  14. It seems like it shakes the yellow plate, so loose bits of 'grain' are shaken loose.
  15. That means you haven't tried hard enough.
  16. Nice adaptation! Great idea to add the gearbox, and the finish flag works out very well. You asked about the stickers; the ones I used were printed by a company that does stickering for cars and store windowing and such. You might want to ask around for companies like those. Would you mind if I added your pictures to my flickr, completely credited of course?
  17. If you're unable to see the video, I've uploaded a copy here:
  18. I wish you best of luck, but I wouldn't be a customer. I feel pretty confident I could reverse-engineer most MOCs. And besides, I'd rather be building my own stuff than rebuilding somebody else's work. Of course, there should be plenty of people who would be interested, because you build some damn nice stuff.
  19. Nope. I'm no fan of 'sneak previews'. If it's done, show it already. If it isn't, get back to work. Don't waste time with what could have been and what might have been. Of course, your mileage may vary and all that.
  20. The concept is simple. Roll two vehicles off a plank. The one that goes farthest wins. Prizes are also rewarded for originality and the best crash.
  21. I think the second one just broke my brain.
