  1. These are waaaaaaay overdue. Plan was to have this done at the movie's release, but I may have gone a bit overboard filming. There's also a making of part: Required by law these days are Cuusoo links: The Bat - http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/23218 Camo Tumbler - http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/20174 Tons of pictures can be found here: (top left) http://www.flickr.com/photos/28134808@N02/sets/ LXF files are somewhere over here: http://www.vayamenda.com/
  2. Very, very nice model. I dig the extras you put in, like the cylinder engine and the door mechanism. Very recogniseable, too.
  3. If anyone looks funny when I mention my hobby I just show them what I build. Gets the message across very nicely.
  4. I would be very interested. My résumé: http://www.youtube.com/mahj
  5. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Anyone notice a pattern? I suggest buying sets you like, and not buying sets you don't like.
  6. Rack and pinion usually offfers the best control.
  7. The problem with the 5x5 square is that you'll still need some sturdy bracing so it won't fall apart under stress. But we'll see how it's used soon enough.
  8. That site of yours, legotechniccreations.com, will sooner or later get a message from the nice lawyers of Lego, asking you to stop using their brand in your URL.
  9. Intriguing. I'd love to see what kind of dirt gets dished out. As for me, I don't want to deter anyone from using 'my' techniques (like I could) but if someone builds something that was in part built with my instructions it'd be nice if they gave some credit. As far as I can tell, I don't have beef with any builder.
  10. @KEvron If you don't agree, care to refute?
  11. The bevel gears are shaped like that because of their function; they need to work at a 90 degree angle. I'd love to see a more 'beautiful' bevel gear that still has the same versatility. It's nice to see you agree with my two other points.
  12. I don't want lighter gears. I want gears that don't break when I . I don't need colors. Lego keeps a limited amount of parts; with each new color gear, it takes away another part. You call them ugly, I call them functional. You're just not used to them. They do what they need to do, and they do it very well.
  13. I don't see how the above project is impossible in studless. Get a couple of 15-stud beams to connect the two halves of the machine together, and use some extra 15-studs to extend the base.
  14. And I think that's a perfectly good reason. Dluders has linked plenty of places where his work can be seen. Making instructions is a very time-intensive process. And even if there are some people silly enough to actually give in to those demands, I fully respect his decision not to. Also, I think that you'll learn a lot more from trying on your own than by following instructions.
  15. You're building my stuff? Awesome! If you could, I'd love to get a picture or two of the tank/tachikoma. Doesn't matter if it isn't 100% the same as the original (Even better if you got creative and put your own twist on it), I'd love to see how it ended up
  16. Optimistic or not, don't let that keep you from voting. The chance may be small, but if we never get those 10,000 votes we'll never know. And yes, getting those votes ain't easy. You know what? 1 week in and we're 20% there. Sure, first week is the easiest. However, there is plenty of interest for this set even from non-AFOLs. If this ends up on a big blog (hey, it's happened before) it may well push it over the edge. And 'smallest fan base' or not, 10,000 votes is 10,000 votes. Remember Lego Mindstorms? Speciality product. More complex than Lego has ever produced. Frickin' expensive. They still made it. The world wasn't changed by people who sat on their chairs saying 'nah, that will never happen'. And in this case, the only thing you need to do is to sit on your chair thinking to yourself "well, let's see what happens" and take 5 minutes to vote.
  17. Seeing the direction in which the discussion is going, I would like to mention that we can help getting technic sets for AFOLs in production, using Cuusoo. For example, these two models are well on the way to getting required 10000 votes. Tachikoma Vampire GT supercar
  18. And the next one? Functionality. There you go. The 8043 motorized excavator wouldn't be possible without it.
  19. One week in, and we're at 2000! If you haven't supported yet, please check the Tachikoma out here: Detail page + support button. .If you already have, please get word of it out wherever you can.
  20. I already told you I like it. However, next time, maybe check the color balance settings on your camera?
