  1. Looks great and promising!!! The layout is very ambitious, but with al lot of time and care, it can be done!!! Hope to see more from you in the near future!!! I like large city's like yours!! Greetz, LegoSjaak (Have a look at my City, it is continuously growing....)
  2. You also took really nice pictures!! An excellent review needs excellent pictures, and you did an excellent job!! Greetz, LegoSjaak
  3. Especially those brown cargo-cars go very well with the Emerald Night!!! Beautifull!! Greetz, LegoSjaak
  4. I do like that the trainsets come wíth track and PF. Here in the Netherlands it is easy to sell stuff you don't need (except for curved track... ) and it could even be profitable to buy complete sets and sell the cars, PF stuf and track separate. Personally i haven sold anything yet... but if i would have not always enough money, i would consider selling those parts or cars/sets which i do not like so much. So, let the sets come with track (especially straight track) and PF stuff! Greetz, LegoSjaak
  5. Oh yeah, that looks great! In My opinion, the 7747 is a really nice set, especially the windmill and the truck. (although the part of the truck where the rotorblades should be transported on is really shit) The tractor is outstanding! But your mill is great!! Maybe you could change the color of the housing, like lightningtiger said....but that is just personally.... Succes with other MOD's!!!! Great work! Greetz, LegoSjaak
  6. I think there were more people who had this idea but, like myself, i didn't try. It looks really nic, but for me it would be a pity to break down the 3 3180 Octan trucks that i have... It is one of the best recent trucks. I added an extra white fender and now it looks even nicer!! But thanx for sharing...it made me smile! Greetz, LegoSjaak
  7. I would also recommend 1x2 plates, it does the job fine! It also keeps your Lego collection clean, so you don't need those Kadee couplers. I also think that it doesn't look very Lego-ish when you use all kinds of not-Lego-parts.... Greetz, LegoSjaak
  8. This is an very nice city....the bigger the better is, like here, true!!! e for anyone who hasn't seen my 8 square meters of City yet: Greetz, LegoSjaak
  9. Thanks for your Reply. The video you swas was made after i had the problem. I know that all engines schould be in the front, but as i did not strengthen the couplers with a 1x2 plate in this video, i had to put the 2 maersk-engines in the middle. By adding weight, the problem did not occur yet... Maybe i will make the Octan-cars heavier as well... But if i make all cars heavier.. the engines may not be able to pull the whole train any longer... For about 15 cars there is 2000 grammes éxtra to be pulled... For now it worked.... Greetz, LegoSjaak The set up when the problem occured was: 5 engines, and then 6 7939 containercars, 4 Maersk cars and 3 Octan 7939 cars. The couplers were strengthened and after a few rounds the red containercars were pulled off.... Widening the curves is no option, due to my City layout.... I think that by adding weight (less then 130 grammes would maybe help as well...??) the problem is solved already! Greetz, LegoSjaak Thanks, Brik-el, i'm very happy with my City and trains!! Greetz, LegoSjaak
  10. Hi there, Recently i ran one long train with almost all engines and cars i have. There occured a problem though. During a run, a few of my 6 red container cars (from set 7939) were pulled off the track in a curve... What i did today was that i took away the yellow 1x2 grilles from the containercarrier, so the container is better attached to the carrying car. I also added a little plastic bag with about 130 grammes of sand into each container, so it might be to heavy to be pulled of the track. Are there other ways to solve this little problem, i mean other then i did?? Any-one else bumped into this before?? check a video of my long cargo train with 6 motorized engines! Greetz, LegoSjaak
  11. Got the 3677 last week and i constructed the engine today: Greetz, LegoSjaak
  12. I got my 3677 las tuesday. Till now i have only build the trackside equipment.... Maybe this weekend i will build some cars and hopefully the engine... Still i have the feeling i payed way too much for this set...Next time when a set comes out that is i.m.o. overpriced...i will not buy it. It gives me a bit of bitter feeling now, and that should not be... anyone else bumped into this feeling as well?? Greetz, LegoSjaak
  13. TLG could make more profit in selling only complete sets... i bought 2 extra sets passengertrain 7938 and 1 extra set EN 10194 as well as an additional set Maersk 10219 mainly for the carriages...... or PF-stuff....... Else i would have bought only a few seperate carriages.... I would love to see separate carriages... do not misunderstand me, but i'm afraid it will not happen...... Greetz, LegoSjaak
  14. Klaus-Dieter, well just wait and see what will be on the menu for 2012. A car with camper sounds great to me.. Trucks are always okay, as long as the do not look the same as more recent versions. (for example the garbage truck or cementmixer) A hospital would be nice to, this would also fit in the girls-theme, maybe???? Maybe a new train or train-accesoires????? I wonder what TLG comes up with! It may find its way in my Large City!! (see links below) Greetz, LegoSjaak
  15. Since the first auf August the 3677 is available in the Netherlands... Today i ordered mine, together with a lot of flowers and trees, to make my LegoCity a better environment... . Talking abouw environment....are Legobricks recycleable ? Greetz, LegoSjaak The 3677 train will soon appear on my layout/tracks, have a look at my videos or pictures....(see below)
  16. I also think that TLG is making sets more detailed these days. The world around us changes as well, and as i like it that sets meet reality, it is obvious that i will like the newer Citysets more. Ofcourse i like the older sets, but i enjoyed them 30 years ago!! 17. Hi AussieJimbo, can i reverse the direction of a motor bij a 8869 PF switch?? (i would like to put 2 motors in one Maersk-train)

  18. That is true, especially with the red container cars from the 7939 set..the are easily pushed off the track.... I made a set up with 3 7939 cargo engines and 2 Maersk engines, so total of 5 motors... i found out it was too difficult to let them run because of the different channels and directions...so, i have to put them on one or two channels first..... than i will find out if those 5 engines can pull about 25 cars... Greetz, LegoSjaak
  19. Hi all, i decided to start with one motor in each engine...and see what happens.....!!! i\I will let you know! Greetz, LegoSjaak
  20. Thanks Hoeij, those magnets could indeed become a problem, but i can connect them with a plate... Maybe i will test different setting...but the ultimate combination would be 4 PF motors in both Maersktrains..... therefore a either need a switch or a need to cut a extensioncable.....well...now i hope there is time left for me this weekend to check this out... All repliers, thank you so far..!! Greetz, LegoSjaak
  21. Hi, i would like to put two PF trainmotors in both of my Maersk-engines...and after i have done that, i would like to check how many cars it can pull around my layout.. But do i really need an extra PF cable to switch one of the both trainmotors, to be sure the will runn both forward?? Greetz, LegoSjaak
  22. Ah, nog een nederlander????

    Groeten, LegoSjaak

  23. This is again Brickshop Holland (Brickshop.nl) this is the site that i mentioned already earlier this topic... At that time they still had 5 in stock..but the are gone now.... Appearantly there has been a release..... Greetz, LegoSjaak
  24. Looks very nice, Hoeij ! I would go crazy if i had to box my city up, just to show it somewhere....i think i would choose not to do that, because i would need days to get everything right again...and afterwards you need to go through the same procedure again...aargh... On the other hand..it has given you definitely a good feeling to show your collection to other people!!! Well, at least someone takes the time to do this job!!! Good work, Hoeij!! Greetz, LegoSjaak
  25. It seems i can order a set at Brickshop.nl that is strange......it will come out in August..... but at Eur 170,- it is too expensive for me!! I will wait untill prices drop...or buy only the engine separately on a second hand marketplace.... Greetz, LegoSjaak
