There is a Black Knight ship, that contains two Black Hawk soldiers as crewmen. That is very strange because the Black Knights were at war with the alliance of the Crusaders and Black Hawks.

Magic in Lego Kingdoms; what role does it play?
josykay replied to Sirens-of-Titan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Lego Castle has been stopped when Lego introduced Knights Kingdom 1 and especialy Knights Kingdom2. I think, you can compare it with the Lego Junior Pirate releases. But Castle came back. Btw: Castle was setting in the same "world" until KK 2... are the new Castle sets now back in the "original" Castle world? -
Maybe the are related. There are several clues: The two mentioned Black Knight shields and both factions castle have a Wolfpack prisioner... But there is also a poster showing Majisto on a dragon fighting Black Knights...

I like 6059 Knight´s Stronhold because it contains the only ever released heavy armored Black Hawk knight. Ok, well... all heavy armored knights of the early 90s are fantastic. No matter, if they are Crusaders, Black Hawks, Black Knights or something else. But the Black Hawk is very special. He is unique. There is just one set, that contains him Ok, well, it is not a real castle... so I have to say Black Monarchs (although I do not like the old knights with grill helmes und the printed breastplate)

Ah damn, I hate it. I try to write English but sometimes I write some kind of German: The word faction means "Fraktion" in the German language.
-
I do not like the description of the red faction. In every single sentence Lego announces, how good, fair and brave the red faction is... Again the stupid and boring good vs evil conflict? I think it is very important to teach children, that there is more then black and white, good and evil... However... at least Lego did not announced how evil the green faction is... that fact makes me look forward.

The Lego truck is awesome. But I hate stickers. Please print the parts instead of making stupid stickers.

Well, first at all the ending of the raltionship to my boyfriend brought me back to lego. I felt very lonely and the times were just boring. After discovering my Legoboxes in the cellar and rebuilding Firebreathing Fortress I realized, that building Lego is much of fun. Even at the age of twenty. How ever, first I just wanted du rebuild my old sets but there are many reasons why I decided tu purchase the new Lego sets. Knights: The most important aspect at the Kingdom-Theme are simply those fantastic new bucket helmets. They are amazing, aren´t they? The whole design of the new sets seem to be a revivial of the classic knights: The times of the stereotyped plot "good vs evil" is gone. Again there are now two human factions at war just like in the Crusaders vs Black Hawks plot. Sure, one faction looks darker, but they are not evil in general, thy are just antagonists of the theme. The crest of the red and the green faction as well look like real crests, that could have been used in the "real world" (In my opinion the crests of the Bullknights, Royal Knights and King Leos Knights just did not look like real crests. They were very childish.), there are no Orcs, Trolls, Dwarfs anymore, the classical weapons like that "small halberd" returned and last but not least there are no stupid "shooting things", that was released first in KK I). I have to admit, that the crownie minifigs are very nice und perhaps I will buy some sets to add an other castle faction. Especialy that Castle Tic Tac Toe is very nice for an armybuilder: Sure, it contains 5 same minifigs, but heavy armored knights, armed with a great sword are fantastic bodyguards for the King All in all the reason for buying new Knight-sets are the new helmets and going to the roots. Pirates: After 10 years without a single pirate release (If I am right the legend sets were not released in german shops) they are finally back. And they look fantastic. The classic pirate minifigs are really good, but all in all they look a little bit like a clone army. Now we got pirates with many different torsos, green! caps, new faces and a printed back. But not only the minifigs are nice. The whole design of the 2009 pirate serie looks like a remake of the fantastic classical pirates. But even they are just copys, they are good copys. All in all the return of my favorite Themes in their old glory brought me back and convinced me to buy them. @Commodore Hornbricker Sadly many parts of my sets are missing... there are no sets, that are complete... so some boxes were not completely rebuildable. If you guys want to get a index about all my sets, I can give it to you. PS: Can I get new made stickers form older Lego sets just like 1592 Townsquare?

Hello, My name is Josy (my real name is a secret) I am a 21 years old girl form the beautiful state Hessia in Germany. I have much Lego which is mostly Lego City, especially the classical Octan-serie and the older Shell gas station, a little bit Lego Space (Ice Planet) and of course my favorite series: Castle and Pirates including Firebreathing Fortess and the one and only BSB. At the age of 10 my interest in Lego faded and it remained unplayed in several boxes. I think, the interest maybe faded, because I did not like the newer designs of the Pirates (RBR and spanish soldiers) and the Castle series (especialy those very ugly strange looking Fright Knights with ridiculous bat-wing helmets and stuff like that senseless windship. When Knights Kingdom I was released, which included the "Bull-Knights", who have very ugly faces and those strange "shooting-things" my interests became completly crushed But now, after a long time I finished school, going to university my interests in Lego awakened when my parents were at a sailing trip. I began to rebuild my keeps and ships and looked at new catalogs to see, what Lego releases now. After seeing the new Pirate and Castle ahm.. Kingdom Serie (I did not like the Fantasy Castle serie because after the LotR movies the plot became common and boring, although the minifigs are much better than Baties, KK I and KK II) I fell in love with the new Lego sets and now I am back, to collect the new knights and pirates (and maybe some classical knights). That´s all folks. I hope I will have much fun at this forum. Well, I do not hope... I know that I will have much fun, because Lego fans are allways nice people :-) Greetings: Josy

I voted for the Guarded Inn. First of all I am a Crusader fan (Unfortunatly I was born in 1989... so when I was old enough to play with Lego Crusaders were gone). But the most important reason is the amazing tavern sign which is unique to this set. It is just fantastic. PS: @Teh Stud: I heard rumors, that the Guarded Inn was not released in the USA, because it would support the consumption of alcoholic drinks... Are those rumors true?

Do I have to choose one of those two? Then it is the Green Wizard. But the best one is the ancient Majisto, first of the magi That is my personal wizard ranking (Witches not included): Majisto Green Wizard (Does he have a name?) Mallock (Evil Wizard) Albus Dumbledore (Just the yellow faced first version) The Good Wizard. PS: The Green Wizard is only that much evil as Majisto. His fraction is neutral. Sure they are at war with an other castle fration, but I do not see anything that makes the green fraction really evil. Maybe they are aggressive, maybe they are the antagonists, but the Forestmen and Black Hawks were also antogonists, without being evil :)

The minifigs are fantastic and the new colours of the weapons is just amazing! The carriage it self is average, but if you compare it to 6042 Dungeon Hunters or 6055 Prisoner Convoy of the Crusader series the set looks just bad, small and weird (especially its open top).

But that knight of the advent calendar does not have any green parts at all. No dragon knights crest, no plume, no green glothes, no shield... there is nothing. So you can not say, if that minifig is the stereotyped "Black Knight"-Antagonist or a member of the dragon knights. A shield or a green plume for that minifig would have been fantastic and it wouldn´t be that hard to include a green plume or something like that. But there are goot news for me. I It seems, that the "Prison Tower" set contains one more green plume. So the Advent calendar minifig can get one. I´m hoping so too. Yeas BPs are great army builder, but they are not available in regular german stores. You can just buy them at mail order stores. I have to admit, that the green BP is just great. Two bucket helmets (with green plumes), one printed! breastplate are just fantastic. The green BP is superior to the red one, thats right. I just wish, there would be more green stuff in regular boxes.

You have to admit, that there are too few dragon knights minifigs in the Kingdoms theme. If I counted right there are 24! red minifigs, including a royal family and a mounted knight if you put all sets together (I counted the 5 minifigs of the battle packs). But the serie contains only 16 green minifigs (one of them isn´t actually a real green minifig, because it doesn´t have neither a green tabard nor a green plume. It just shares the torso design with the green knight auf that "Knight Showdown" set), including the 5 battlepack minifigs. I really miss a green mounted knight, or a dark green saddle to build a green knight. I mean, well how can you call them "knights" when that fraction does not have any mounted men? The Prison Tower is the biggest set of the green fraction... so why there are more minifigs of the other faction? Ok, there are only two red warriors, but they are much better armed and have a steed... so the green knights are the underdogs... In fact there is not any set, which contains more green minifigs then red ones (excluding the impulse sets). Although the sets main theme are the dragon knights: King´s Castle (red set) 5 red minifigs + a steed vs 3 green minifigs Prison Tower (green set) 3 red minifigs + a steed vs 2 green minifigs Outpost Attack (red set) 2 red minifigs vs 1 green minifigs Prison Carriage (green set) 2 red minifigs vs 1 green minifig Knights Showdown (neutral set) 1 red minifig (+ catapult...) vs 1 green minifig Adevent calendar ("neutral" set) 4 red minifigs (including a queen and a prince) vs 1 green minifig (that does not have a plume) All in all we need more green minifigs... (Maybe a green Castle? Or a big siege set with a ram, a siege tower, catapults and some tents)

Well, the Dark Forest Fortress is a good set. It is well designed and a revivial of the forestmen is fantastic. But I do not like the minifigs. Especially the grey helmet and the small kite shield of the Dragonmaster soldiers. Those parts simply have the wrong color! Dragonmasters do not have any grey helmets! The are all black! And they do not have Black Knight kite shields! The just have a green dragon at those larger shield type. The torsodesign of the minifigs is acceptable, but it could have been much better... All in all the minifigs seem to be the recycled remains of older castle sets I would give the set a 3.5...

Ist is called "Engel-Versand". But they do not ship to other countries.

I got sealed Battle Packs for 12.95 € at a German Mail Order. I like especially the green one. Here we´ve got a printed breastplate (in regular sets it is only available in the big bastle), two bucket helmets and a lance for a knight (Are there dark green/black saddles for a knight in a Lego set?). The red one does not contain a new bucket Helm, no breastplate, but it contains that huge Dragon-Master halberd, which does not really fit to the rest of the knights weapons. But the red one contains one more shield.

I asked a employee of a store, who said, that the Kingdom sets will be released at the beginnig/mid of june. Maybe Lego-Stores and Mail Order stores got the sets a little bit earlier then regional stores and shops like Toys´r´us.

Thanks for the information. I checked Bricklink and Ebay, but there were only some battle wagons. No X-bow men at all...

I just found those two other small Kingdom-Sets: and Can anyone tell me, how to get them? I can not find them in any catalog...

Magic in Lego Kingdoms; what role does it play?
josykay replied to Sirens-of-Titan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think, there is only one fantasy-part in this new Kingdoms serie: The Wizard In my opinion those "Unicorns" are nothing else, than normal steeds with a horn at their barding and the "Babydragon" seems to be used as an jade crafted statuette (because they are used at the dragon knights towers gate). -
Ohhh, that is sad. I do not really like the design of the tower (especially that completly open rear) and the minifigs... well they just do not fit in that set. Why are the green knights outnumbered all the time? Even in their own sets? The minifigs are nice, but a green horseman, two green soldiers, a red soldier and the princess would have been much better...

Nice Review and a really great set. I can not wait to purchase the sets, but if my information are correct, Germans will have to wait two more months.
-
/singed I would like, du see some small ships like the Renegade Runner, a huge pirate stronghold/ refugee and of course a lot of small/medium sized sets.
-
A very nice set. I really like the Babydragon and the magicians appearance. But the simple brown stick as a wand and the plain torso are not good. Something like Majistos "Glow in the dark fairy wand" and a dark green Forestman-Torso with that small bag (like Majistos torso)would have been very nice. All in all the Green Magician is much nicer than the "Good Wizard" set and a "Must have" for every Kingdom or "Non fantasy Castle" fan. If any one sees it in German stores, plz. call me per PM.^^
