  1. Thanks Still, if anyone has the exact weight of just the truck, I would be grateful.
  2. Sorry for the gigantic bump, but does anybody know what the truck weight?
  3. I did mean head.. yet to find out how I would do it though
  4. I will eat my own head if that thing has pneumatics
  5. That would of course be the natural conclusion. But as I said, it's use is EXTREMELY marginal... unless I'm just being stupid and can't see something...
  6. Thats quite a lot better than TLG then. They have used it to solve a problem which they didn't have, as it is completely unecessary in the log loaders gearbox. It just seems like a waste to design a new part for such a marginal use. There's so many other parts they could put into production instead.
  7. I would have loved to see a review of the set on the forum! There's been a falling curve on that section on the forum the last year Any opinions on this part though? I still think it's got to be the stupidest technic part ever designed (Bionicle not included).
  8. Because your initial post was so much more usefull? Andythenorths answer was sensible and he is right, if anyone on eurobricks has news, it wont make a difference if you ask for them or not. So please stop spamming down the forum in completely unnecessarly questions.
  9. The colour scheme is just a matter of taste, and rock crawlers are supposed to look a bit crazy. I haven't heard about the faulty rotor blades either, how do you know? I'm not denying that the sets are being refined, I just think that the designers are their own heads, they know their models best.
  10. Ehm... really? It sounds a bit weird to me that the designers should listen to random subjective opinions, stated by people who have just seen pictures ans short videos. They would probably ask for opinions if they needed it, not try to (half-hearted) hide the sets.
  11. How about... a Maserati GranTurismo?
  12. There is definitely mLAs for the landing gear (which is awesome). On the top however, behind the rotor and where the black liftarms are, there is something that looks like a spring. My guess is that the light plays a trick on us... it looks a bit like this piece in black.
  13. Does anybody know the piece count for the helicopter?
  14. This is probably a set which is going to sell a lot. Everybody knows that the most awesome thing for a twelve year old boy is a radio controlled off-roader. Personally though, I'm going to skip this set. Compared to the last years flagships, it's completely uninteresting technically.
  15. On the highest yellow beam on the chopper, there is a sticker showing something and a pole reverser handle just above it. So there must me a gearbox. My guess is four different outputs: 1: Opening the cargo bay (the gray panel at the back). 2: Winch. 3: Landing gear. 4: Rotors. It seems like there is a couple of mLAs there as well. I fdo like the chopper
  16. That's right, but it would still be wider. Actually.. if you want to be really anal (like me) it is possible to keep the initial width, but then you have to ged rid of the 15L beam outside of the diff bracket and swap the 3L liftarms on the wheel mountings with 2L. Then you'll end up with double wheels, which keeps its initial width and doesn't fall off. You'll also have a problem with the structure around the diff because of the missing beams... to difficult for me to explain, but entirely possible to fix.
  17. There is a problem with this, and it's caused by the new diffs. Because the drive axles are only mounted on the 1/2 stud 12t gear they will constantly fall of as long as there is nothing else to keep the axle fixed. In this case there wouldn't be room for it if you don't want to make the rear axles wider. Generally though, they don't seem to prioritise dual wheels whatsoever. And if I rememember correctly; authenticity is part of the holy trinity of technic bulding in TLG. So it's pathetic, really.
  18. Well done. I'm actually building something like this as well.
  19. Never mind the carpet. You should take some more pictures!
  20. They're used to mount the changeover catches.
  21. There are so many pieces that don't exist yet, but instead of making something useful, they've decided to make a piece that (at first glance at least) looks like it exceeds the known boundries of awkwardness in the technic universe. Somebody in Denmark has clearly gone completely mad.
  22. Interesting how they actually designed and produced new parts just for a prototype. I thought those kind of jobs were immensely expensive. It looks like the rock crawler might have the 3 x 11 panles at the back. If it's not just a curved one?
  23. Thanks for nice feedback I'll see what I can do. I'm very impatient when building digitally I don't really recognize the problem. There is almost no space between the axles, so the chassis doesn't really get the chance to bend as long as it's on the ground. And when lifting the chassis there isn't any visible bending at least. There is basicly three horizontal beams going through the entire chassis, which gives decent strength to the chassis. I recon it will be a bigger problem when building the superstructure though, as it will be terrible unbalanced when the boom isn't mounted.
