  1. Its available on bricklink http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?q=8109 Anybody who have bought it?
  2. If anyone still is puzzled about the fork: It extracts with the help of the motor and probably a 13L gear rack. Nothing special really. However, at the back there is some gears which seems to adjust the angle of the fork. If you zoom in at this picture you can see that the white rubber band is connected to the axle where a 20 tooth bevel sits. This means that the gears on the fork only is there to make some give when it's loaded. It also means that those gears aren't connected to the chassis or motor in any way.
  3. There is some new pics on Setechnic Quite interesting...
  4. @Jetro: I think I dare to say that the absolutely most wanted new piece in the community is the longer pneumatic cylinders that allanp mentioned. What would be even more awesome is double acting cylinders (?) like this. Would probably be hard to make it stiff enough though, but it should be possible
  5. @ m3cc0: Is it possible for you to take a picture of the inventory pages at the last pages of the instruction book? That would be great.
  6. I would definitely like to see a split forum. I disagree with those that say that it's not necessary due to low traffic. There is a lot of spam topics and simple questions. It's especially a problem if you want to find old topics, as the search system is useless in most cases. My proposal for different sections: - MOCs - Set reviews - Questions/FAQ - General discussion/news
  7. That's actually less than 8258(?) Not bad...
  8. I migth be a bit stupid, but I don't understand this. There is no 3L pin with crosshole and "bent into place"..? The axle connctor and 8L axle hanging on the side appeares to be 90 degrees.
  9. Yeah, happy birthay. I think you're wrong though IMO studless building began eigher in 2000, when the straight thick beams first appeared, or 2002-2003, when the first fully studless sets came. edit: thick.. not think
  10. Do I spot 11-long axles at the sides of the roof?
  11. I'm not sure if I get what you're thinking of, but the arm used to get the third funcion onto the central axis will be fixed to the chassis. You would have to place the superstructure above the entire installation. This means a very tall and therefore impractial solution, but I still think it's theoretically possible.
  12. It's possible in my head. If you let the third function(gears) come in on top of the turntable, and connect it to the central axle after the first function has been led to a side. Not a very practical solution though. Maybe I'll try it once.
  13. I'm sorry I did'nt make it clearer I was talking about recommended retail price/MSRP. I'll fix that. http://peeron.com/inv/sets/8043-1 http://peeron.com/inv/sets/8258-1 http://peeron.com/inv/sets/8275-1 http://peeron.com/inv/sets/8297-1 http://peeron.com/inv/sets/8285-2 http://peeron.com/inv/sets/8421-1 And yes, I did read your post. Anyways, you live in scandinavia (or fennoscandia to be precise). TLG has a much higher MSRP in these countries than the rest of Europe and in the US. And if normal 150$-sets has an MSRP of 190 euros in Finland, the unimog will probably have an MSRP of nearly 250 euros in Finland (Assuming TLG follows their usual habit).
  14. What country are you from? I'm fairly sure MSRP for 8258, 8275 and 8421 was 150$/150euro. 8285 and 8297 was 120$/120euro. I can of course not argue with gradual price increases due to the market, but last year 8043 got a way to high price tag compared to the other sets.
  15. In that case TLC seems to have gone mad again (like last year). Can't image the new Unimog is going to be worth more than 8258.
  16. It's called topic on this forum and in this thread........... ahhrgh.. damn Anyways, I'm of to eat some Topic!
  17. Thread? What the heck? I thought this was a topic about the 2h2011 technic sets...
  18. If the price is 120 euros in europe, then it's probably 120USD in the US. And in Norway it't like 90 billions NOK
  19. I'm guessing the most common mistake is to not connect the two lower LA's perfectly parallelled. This would tear ALOT on the motor.
  20. A snowplough is not unlikely.
  21. Both sets are magnificent. Just got two 8258 for 160 euros, and 8043 for 100 euros on bricklink. If you ever bump into such bargain, go for it!
