  1. Necroposting - on a message board, posting something irrelevent on a really old topic to bring it to the top of the list topics. Name comes from the fact that you are bringing it back from the dead, thus Necro. And there's everything wrong with it.
  2. Come on, like you never brought back a discussion from 7 years ago ;)
  3. I like how you used new connector pieces to install shock absorbers. Very clever.
  4. That black hand scares me. It's a very nice MOC, but I wonder if with XL motor added to the RC unit's output any of the motors in the truck is actually running at full power.
  5. I can't sleep writing it ;) Thanks, there's a good chance it could be out around May.
  6. Thanks Paul, it means a lot coming from you :) Among other useful things I'm including in the book is a table of some 20 most common Technic wheels that shows their sizes compared, as well as profiles of their tyres, here's part of the images in it. I couldn't find such a comparison in the Internet - there is the Visual Wheel Helper, but it's not exactly the same - so I made one. Of course some text is going to be added, listing part names, part numbers and exact dimensions.
  7. Interesting. Apparently it's going to be all-judges, no-contestants kind of challenge :)
  8. I don't see Hailfire Droid wheels either. Last time I checked, the looked like this:
  9. Thanks, that's one good-looking result you've got there :)
  10. And finally: http://sariel.pl/2009/01/subtractor/ Guess I should redraw these building instructions finally, they look ancient :)
  11. Here's a quote from the forum guidelines: The behemoth you posted is over 2MB heavy. Just saying.
  12. The question is, how do you intend to apply a brake without using another motor?
  13. The software I've linked to resizes whole folders of files in just few clicks. Paint is good for... I don't know, actually. Is it good for anything?
  14. That's why this amazing thing called resizing was invented. Here: http://www.fookes.com/ezthumbs/
  15. My setup does not use light tent.
  16. Not necessarily, light tents usually work well with MOCs smaller than yours. Unless you get a really big light tent.
  17. I hope one day I can shoot videos like that with a DSLR and process them in Adobe Premiere with Twixtor - that would allow slow-motion in high resolution and good quality, unlike in this video.
  18. OMG, I meant "lots". "Lots" of LEGO pieces. Shame on you, keyboard :)
  19. I can assure you it won't be 12-pitch Times New Roman text, but actually something more space-consuming :) Oh, and besides text and figures, there are also some building instructions. I think there should be at least 40 of those, most of them between 3 and 8 pages long (in LPub - the book's layout compositor may be able to reduce that length).
  20. Looks nice! The colours you've picked certainly go well with the overall smoothness. Looking forward to a word or two about the functions.
  21. Thanks. It was under half a day, I think.
  22. No offence Andy, but either I am being very unclear, or you are missing the possibility of building a Technic model with entirely System body. That's the case I was talking about all along - a MOC that looks like a system MOC, but has Technic functions. Exhibit A: Exhibit B:
  23. I'm talking about MOCs, not sets. Technic MOCs can follow aesthetics that is very different from that of the sets.
