  1. Good idea. I found these, 121 mm with foam: http://www.ebay.pl/itm/GOMME-INTERCO-TSL-1-9-XL-DIAMETRO-PIUGRANDE-MESCOLA-G8-PROLINE-GPPRL1197-14-GO-/301308042909?pt=Modellismo_Dinamico&hash=item46275bde9d&_uhb=1 Any idea if they fit any LEGO tires?
  2. Yeah, Tumbler is an option if I can get the rear wheels right. Thanks for suggestions, some of the stuff you liked is sold out already. How about these? The tread looks right to me, anybody has these? http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-x-Rubber-Tyre-108mm-Tires-Sponge-Insert-RC-1-10-Black-Rock-Crawler/161320322568?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D24934%26meid%3Df0d26ebe86924558a142941f9c382d8d%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D10514%26rk%3D6%26rkt%3D10%26sd%3D221494186331
  3. Yeah, the 106 looks better, definitely, I'm just having a hard time finding it at eBay.
  4. These Rock Crushers do look mean, but I think the edges are shaped differently from Tumbler's. Wow, these look amazingly accurate, thanks! You mean they don't sit on the LEGO rim that well? I will look for the larger ones, thanks. In any case, I suppose too small is better than too bit - I can always try to stretch them a bit. Yes sir, I'm aware of this thread, as well as of the fact that it's 15 pages long. Hence my quick question for a few suggestions. PS. Looking at some blueprints, these tires can be even 120 mm big.
  5. Guys, I know a lot of you have delved into the area of tires from RC models that fit LEGO rims. It's unknown territory for me, so I'd like to ask for suggestions: I'm looking for tires that would match the look of Tumbler's rear tires. Ideally, they should be about 13 studs (104mm) in diameter, 6 studs (48mm) wide and fit some unmodified black LEGO rims. Thanks!
  6. Look cool, but you have more torque than you can use there. Two L motors are enough to make a 2 kg model fly, and this thing's probably under 0.5 kg. Did you try gearing the motors up?
  7. Brilliant! Too bad most of my games are digital versions :)
  8. I just made a long-due update of this: scaler.sariel.pl Important: please refresh the page if you've been there before. Change log: - the scaler tool is now stretched to the full width of your screen, including the image area.Screen resolutions 1600px wide and larger are recommended. - the image area is now 3000px tall and does not scroll if the blueprint is larger - you can draw on 100% of the image area now - fonts and some other elements enlarged for clarity - some text reworded, some elements moved for clarity - default unit accuracy is now 0.1, but you can still go down to 1.0 - maximum unit accuracy increased to 0.0000001 - maximum known dimension value increased to 999999 studs - color buttons enlarged; violet color removed; dark green and dark blue colors added - dark colors now have yellow label under numbers instead of a black one - added "print" button - added link for ScreenGrab Firefox plugin I hope the tool serves you better now. Please post info here if you encounter any bugs. Don't forget other tools: wheels.sariel.pl studs.sariel.pl gears.sariel.pl and more at my website.
  9. Thanks. Yes, two receivers were sufficient for control and the dbg minifig head was strong enough for the barrel. The stickers were made in the usual way: printed on regular paper, cut out and covered with transparent duct tape.
  10. Glad somebody read that monstrosity and enjoyed it, thanks ;)
  11. Well, largely because I'm an Android user, like 85% of the market, but the SBrick app is not yet available outside iOs. I'm told it's coming soon.
  12. They're in the grille area, right inside where the towing cables make loops:
  13. Thanks. The motors: 2 x L for drive 2 x Micro for MG 2 x M for turret traverse & elevation 1 x M for opening the hull 1 x 71427 for driving the V12 1 x M for driving the radiators fans
  14. For a time I was thinking that I ran out of new ideas, having built over a dozen tank models. Then I decided to give it another try: Photos, lots of historical background and plenty of reading: http://sariel.pl/2014/09/tiger-xl/ In the immortal words of Monty Python: "A tiger? In Africa?" ;)
  15. I'm pretty sure I've seen some Bosh dishwashers with special program for cleaning Lego pieces, and with a net bag to hold them together during washing. Can't say how effective it is, though.
  16. The boats by VFracingteam go up to 40k pieces, if you consider them Technic.
  17. I think the real problem is that Lego Ideas was probably invented by the Lego marketing team to make the company look good and to occasionally discover a way to make easy money. Look how they jumped on the Minecraft sets idea. Minecraft = millions of potential buyers of sets that are essentially bags of plates with some print on them. When you look at the history of submissions and rejections, things have always been vague, and Lego has absolutely no problem discarding awesome, very popular submissions without giving any proper reason. I know I may sound sour, but the whole project reminds me too much of how the marketing people operate. Plus, it's just tiresome that a lot of people out there think Lego Ideas = automatically turning any MOC into a set, and they go "submit it, submit it" whenever they see something interesting.
  18. Don't forget that the brakes in real Hummer sit right next to the diff, not in the wheel hubs :)
  19. Very impressive, especially for a model with long, heavy cabin, which must have made it difficult to distribute enough weight to the rear wheels. I like the colors, too, and the details on the cabin's sides :) Any idea what's the top speed?
  20. Sorry, I meant no offense to anyone, it was simply a small joke on the obviously superficial national stereotypes. Nothing I would take seriously - in fact, I did joke about the stereotypical Poles/vodka relationship in my earlier videos ;) Not to mention that none of my books would happen without substantial help of my American friend Blakbird. Again, my apologies if anyone felt offended. I'm not the world's most serious person.
  21. Kind of both, I guess: http://www.scaler.sariel.pl/
  22. Apparently it's not only my hamsters ;) https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20101006224330AAa5C4x
  23. Nice to see my scaler being helpful. Reminds me to improve it a bit :) What are you planning to use for 2.4 wide tracks and for that big front sprocket?
  24. Hero GoPro 3. Well, you can tell hamsters are up to no good. They're scheming all the time and watching you from behind your back: http://img.pandawhale.com/post-14530-Conspiracy-hamster-SOON-gif-5Xob.gif
  25. That's an interesting idea, thanks. The only question is, are my hamsters obese enough to emulate an American? ;)
