  1. Hooray for vine-slaying minions! We do appreciate having something to do.
  2. Just had this thought: what if those weaker, balancing agent-types were immune to AoE? I'm sure I've seen enemies like that in one of the Baltarok quests but I can't find it right now.
  3. Once the hitpoints/healthpoints controversy of the horses was worked out, I realized I actually really like that mechanism as a balancing agent. Taking hastened away from enemies is important, and hitting horses is (at this point, since they're not immune to everything and have no SP) doable. This is an honest question, because apparently I'm doing it wrong: where does a level 6 Ranger get scrolls, bombs, and useful items in his first quest ever? Nope. Yeah, why does anyone follow Guts' plans? Well, looks like I'm cannon fodder now. I think the rule needs a limit. Maybe not two, but three? So that there is more meaning than just "attack this guy twice" (even if it's only "attack this guy three times") but it's still a very significant strategic hazard.
  4. Since everything has gone according to plan this far.... Yeah, I don't know that it's been that bad, but I know I've felt pretty hesitant to speak up just on my own and being ignored repeatedly doesn't help. It's hard to produce much when your arrows only do 4 damage and every target has 5, 10, 20 SP. Hooray for horse-slaying minions!
  5. Shouldn't the fire bomb have at least set the little prince on fire?
  6. I agree that inactive players (but only inactive players) should be overruled by the party leader. Yes. Exactly. Even in real life, the commander has to take his subordinates' characteristics, tempers, and interpersonal relationships into account. And a commander who doesn't listen to his subordinates' suggestions is a fool. No thanks, this is taking long enough already! Hahahah it's not so much bad vibes, it's that there are widely mixed levels. I think it's understandable if Purpearl and Matthias don't much care to be sacrificed (sorry Baradock) to keep higher level players alive, even if they are sort of useless at this point.
  7. Welcome to Eurobricks! Wow, that's quite an accomplishment! I'm a pilot myself and I can't imagine doing it without hearing. Bravo!
  8. Welcome to Eurobricks! Hi, Not Really Macsen, welcome to Bricklinkaholics Anonymous! An enviable position indeed.
  9. Welcome to Eurobricks! That's what I'm doing!
  10. Welcome to Eurobricks! I'm in the midst of my first modular building - it's a fun project! And there are certainly plenty of castle inspirations around here....
  11. Welcome to Eurobricks! Preach it!
  12. Welcome to Eurobricks! That would have made a great entry to the contest. I really like the rooftop patio.
  13. Welcome to Eurobricks! Looks like a great start to a collection!
  14. Matt, Welcome to Eurobricks. The clock-an-hour-ahead thing has been driving me nuts the entire time I've been a member. -Stick
  15. So what you're saying is that instead of ...whatever it is I do, even I'm not sure some days... I should have taken up Finance and Risk so I could afford all those LEGOs. Anyway, cheers, know that we're all jealous!
  16. Ok, got it. Wasn't sure if we were getting some leniency due to the lack of earlier explanation. I think we can do one better. Matthias, hearing the talk of revival, has his hopes lifted just a tiny bit. He aims his arrows at Cassandra's Horse, keeping his eye on Prince David in case the horse is killed before one or both of his arrows are loosed. Glup's inert body lies on the front lines, her hand reflexively clenched on a Fire Bomb, as if she were ready to throw it.... If the Incense is used, Glup should be in the battle order before Matthias so that if he hits twice, the first hit will knock out Cass's Horse and the next can be directed against David. As for Glup using a bomb instead of simply attacking, it guarantees us another hit against the horse, and David is the only other target she can do much damage against with a normal attack anyway....
  17. Guys, just want to say I know I blew it and I'm sorry.
  18. So are the horses still alive? Or not? Something in the mechanics wasn't explained, and because of that free hits that wouldn't have happened otherwise killed 3 heroes and 1 NPC plus wounded Benji? Matthias, aghast at the fallen heroes lying around him, redoubles his attack against Son A's Horse and Son B's Horse Cassandra's Horse. I'm thinking it's better if I can eliminate at least one and possibly two free hits from the Sons? If there's something I'm missing, someone please let me know and I'll change it. Edit: I'm an idiot, figured it out. Thanks!
  19. Yeah, that was definitely my bad. I missed the suggestion for Glup to throw the bomb and quite honestly I forgot she had them. Is there any way Matthias can act to pick up her bombs and throw them? Or pick up essences to use on the owners of said essences?
  20. Glup moves to the West Border attacks Son C's horse.
  21. (Emphasis added.) I think I may have to pour gold into SP - if not a shield - even as a Ranger... anyone have a worthwhile SP artifact they're willing to part with cheap? Well, the quest Matthias is in now (my first quest, #90), hasn't dropped any shields but has dropped a nice set of weapons... none of which are ranged.
  22. Give me half a chance to get Matthias to 15 and that's my plan. Although... The question is how to get SP while investing gold into WP.
