International Talk Like A Pirate Day
oDDerFisken replied to Admiral Blockbeard's topic in LEGO Pirates
I missed it last year and was bloody furious about it, so thank you very much for reminding me that it's on friday. YARR -
Wauw.. it's nice. Very nice. Lots of details n' stuff. Like their treehut hideout. It's great. And nice pirates have a cup of tea.. ehm.. rum- YARR.

It's cool.. I always love when there's a story to a MOC. The man surely looks like he's been there for a long time. It's a very small island to love on for 10 years. Poor guy. The tree is I but square-ish, but i also think it looks very jungle-like. It's nice. And i really like the waterfall. It's great!
-
This gallow is way better I think! Though I'd like to see it from some other angles. About the hangman: I'm pretty sure that there's a good hood from one of the star wars figures, thats perfect for hangmans :pir-skull:
-
Sounds like a very bloody idea.. I like it You right about the gallow, but I still think it looks wierd. even if you didn't want to make a big deal out of it, the soldiers do better than that when the pirates are to be hanged in it.
-
I think it's pretty cool. Like the idea about the heads of former pirates on sticks. But you should do something about the gallow. It looks odd atm I think. But i'd like to see it in Lego.
-
As all you works it's FANTASTIC!!! My only argue is that I'd like some more pictures of this incredible MOC.. even though you were only allowed 3 pics for the contest you could give us some more
-
Good ship, but I think you should have picked this picture for the presentation instead. It's better in my oppinion, 'cause it gives a better overview. Anyways: I'm not very fond of the grey colour-scheme.. it make's it look to much castle/stone-like I think. Beside from that you've done a great job. I espcially like the cannons, which is very inventitative. Could someone please index them? The figurehead is also very interesting. I'd say Slyowl is right about the ladder. It looks a bit odd.
-
A very very nice ship I must say! So many great details, and a awesome sails and rigging. The figurehead is great The back of the ship is also packed with details. The colourscheme is great too! The only thing the ship is missing is a decent crew I think. With only one guy one such a huge vessels it seems unlikely that it will be able to take off shore I'd also like ot see the lower gundeck if possible. (gotta use the new smileys )

Thanks well here they are: Here's a gallery of some of my custommade cannons My cannon-gallery

Nice first-time LEGO MOC. Like the roof of the tavern and especially the decorations at the ladder. Except for the yellow at the top. It breaks the look I think. Did you ran out of blue ones? As suggested you should add some minifigs. Even if you haven't got any "real" lego-pirate you should add some, 'cause at the moment it looks really deserted. The food gets cold And talking of the food.. not sure that pirates had "food to go".. but it's a nice idea though As Mister Phes said: it sure looks Mediterranean, so you did well. But it's a but too much of the white and blue for my taste. It kinda looks cold there because of the colours Pirates in a snow storm I see the insiration from the lagoon lockup, and you've also done the TLC-architecture good. ooh.. and if you've got one you might add a flag. Either soldier or pirate, it would make it a bit more 'pirate-ish' I think.
-
Indeed it is. I've made two small cannons for the eyes and a BIG one for the mouth. I can take some closeup pictures of the cannons if yod or others would like to see them in details? And off course it's sneaky - it's pirate They're always sneaky. Manta: About the pirates civilized enough to have a town: well.. ehm.. these pirates are civilised enough to have a town without smashing it completely within 5 seconds, but i can't speak for every single pirate at the secen seas

It's freakin' awesome! By far the best LEGO piratemovie I've ever seen. I just LOVE the voices! they are so funny.. so don't make real voices, the wierd sounds is excellent! I only wish that there were more of them really The soundeffects are super too. The paper when they finds the map, and the sounds during pirates attack of the harbour. Love those barrels moving when they're hit. Brilliant I also like the part where spiderman is suddenly involved. And the LEGO racer's-part.. I just LOVE it. How do you make these things up? You're a genius!.. It was so funny.. So all in all: perfect. Hope your next project will be as good as this.. and that it will be out soon.. can't wait!

Thanks What excactly do you mean by "palm tree bottoms as supports"? Support at the tower/lighthouse? Anyways I've just bought really meany palms (both some with leafs and all but also just the bottoms), so I thought I should use them. But even though I've used loads of them in this MOC I've still got a whole bunch waiting to get builded with. Well I tried to build a town, but my lack of bricks unfortunatly set it's limits. So it's a small town But I'm glad you like it. Thanks very much Actually it's not anly an arsenal. There's mostly weapons in there, but there's also some spades 'n stuff. So violence is not the only think they store away

145c Ahoy me mateys! I'm finally finished with my largest MOC so far. Most of it turned out pretty well I think and I'm satisfied with it even though that I had to do some compromises because of my lack of building bricks in the right colours. My favourite features is the skull which can open the mouth so that the cannon can fire, and then the waterfall you have to go under to get up. But tell me what you think. Here is some of the pictures I've taken, there will be more in the folder YARR A cannon coming out of the mouth of the skull.. Not what the imperial soldiers had expected! Well.. that was a lot of pictures, so I hope you enjoy them. If you'd like a closer look at something or a better pic, just ask, and I'll see what I can do. Here's The Folder

5/5 - This set is outstanding. By far one of my favorite sets. For some reason i like that little tower with the cannon very much. Besides there's 3 soldiers, which is a lot for such a small set. Would be nice with a pirate to shoot at though. But it's a great set anyway! Nice review. Could you try to build some of TLC's other suggestions for this set as well and review them

very very nice diorama.. It must have taken ages to make. How many bricks are in it? What kind of details will you add to this diorama?
-
I like it. It's nice. Especially the innovative tree of yours with the barrels. Poor bodyless heads There a lot of action going on in your MOC.. I'd like to see how things ended up like this.. maybe that could be your next MOC.. "The tale of how it all ended this chaotic for the poor pirates" or something like that
-
I agree with Bonaparte. It's a very sudden block-stop your ship's got. But besides from that it looks very nice. The blue/yellow colours-scheme is good, and the tan bottom of the ship is a nice touch I think.
-
It's nice.. Like the barrel alot! It's a pretty good improvement of the Lagoon Lockup I think. So good find
-
I voted for the U.S.S. Constellation.. first of all it's the only one with CANNONS!! yarr.. But i also think it's a qiute good model. I also considered THe Emperors Ship and The Sea Serpent, but the lack of cannons made up my mind.

SET REVIEW: 1733 & 1713 Shipwrecked Pirate
oDDerFisken replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Hm.. it's deffinitely not brilliant! But's okay.. ands it's a pirate. I gave i 3.. and now when i think about it I might should have given it 2, 'caus as said: there no big deal there. No funny new details or anything. -
Thank you very much Mister Phes I'm almost done with it now, so I will upload some pictures of the finished MOC in a day or two.
-
It's a good idea.. but unfortunately I ran out of grey bricks. That's when i change to build with the black ones. BUt I will consider to mix some grey or brown in.. just have to figure out the best way
