  1. Yes I read about BestLockland. But the tank pictured in one of the first few posts on this topic looked great, although it was a v small photo. Could be shoddy as you say though, which I couldn't tell from the pic! X-O
  2. I think the best thing about this set is it indicates that Classic Corner was a success and LEGO will be continuing the line. It was a little fear of mine that CC might not make the sales required to make LEGO continue their most creative by far, and only AFOL type, City sets. So big thumbs up for this! Any idea whether CC will soon be unavailable to order online? I never bought it yet but might this year. Any risk in waiting?
  3. Maybe the helmets in one these pictures are what you mean? I must say LEGO can learn alot from Bestlock with regard to their tanks - pretty class sets.
  4. Another great town Salvobrick! Neat the way you have made the footpaths and CC style shops with your trademark stickers. I love the railway cargo depot too.
  5. Bomber is very impressive. A rare design with nice propellers.
  6. Great Moc General. Very realistic front. Love that cabin. *wub*
  7. Welcome first of all! I don't like the 6 wide cars as although they are more realistic when viewed on their own, I think they are less realistic when placed on the road baseplates taking up the whole width of their side of the road.
  8. Anyone here play Rise Of Nations (RON) and the expansion pack Thrones & Patriots (T&P) ? Would be good to team up if so.
  9. Hey hi. If you have pics of any of your MOCs it be great to see! Enjoy EB
  10. Welcome. Castle stuff sounds good. If you have any pictures of your collection you should post them :) As for Bionicle, it's *wacko*
  11. Welcome to EB, good to see you. Congrats for the bargains :)
  12. Nice collection! I love these soldiers. You can be lucky to find them on eBay sometimes but prohibitively expensive.
  13. If you made your city look more like a middle east or Eastern style city you might be able to assimilate the adventurers minifigs and pieces easier :) The yellow Castle in the centre of the city looks good in my opinion. Many cities grew up around the defensive walls of a castle so it is realistic. Not sure about the yellow colour though :) You can also integrate castle soldiers as old-style troops are used in many nations to guard historical buildings, eg beefeaters in Tower of London, Swiss Guards etc etc.. I used these two techniques (nature i.e. Sea and Castle theme used to represent the city's old town walls) in the past which are shown in this pic: I have ordered a pile of the "<insert that tiresome argument>" mountain/rock pieces to make such a mountain. I'm not sure if I will use it for separating Castle from Town, but I'm playing with this idea. I will post a pic if I ever get anywhere with it.
  14. I usually separate City from e.g Castle by using some nature display inbetween, i.e. a forest or woodland. If you have enough bricks to add some kind of small mountain to hide the two different themes from each other it can look good. To some extent it is like the Time Travel approach Hobbes mentions but probably more like a Lost World. I've also used sea to separate the themes.
  15. I'd imagine these turrets are quite expensive or difficult to have alot of? Do you have lots from Castle sets or did you get them on S@H?
  16. Hahaha yes this wins handsdown. I forgot about this as it came out during my 'dark ages' but I remember seeing it in a shop catalog and it added a few years on to my dark ages.
  17. So its a good idea to stop all the sand *y*
  18. Yeah that's right. I think people are thinking of the black Apaches.
  19. I dont normally like dune buggy's but this is pretty wicked :) Lots of cool detail. Nice engine too. Driver might have poor visibility though or is that an exploding airbag?
  20. Neat truck! especially the front part, great design. Looking forward to your new moc, looks illegal though what ever is going on :)
  21. I think it would be a good laugh. I could see birds esp magpies stealing loads of stuff and poking around, and cats pouncing on it. Hedgehogs might cause a few problems as for sleeping slugs on the tracks. Would be great for filming train accidents though. I've seen Hornby displays outdoors but only in Summer.
  22. Yes the modular building design is a great innovation. My personal fave thing is Lego Factory and online shopping.
  23. Welcome to EB legotrainfan. I also like 9V trains. I believe you don't have to pay anything.
  24. B-RV-8A Hi! Here is my entry. I do not have access to my Lego these days so I had to use the computer :( As a result unfortunately my Sig Fig had to change clothes. He would never normally be dressed like this, don't worry. I also suspect my Sig Fig recently won the Lotto and is hiding thisfact from me. Inside, the house has 2 bedrooms, 1 toilet, a kitchen, basement, water tank room, a main hall, landing, a dining room and some pretty awful paintings. I've taken off the roof on some pics to show the inside of rooms. Was hard to take screenshots so I hope they're alright. I've posted some more pics on Brickshelf.
  25. Any close up pics of it available?
