  1. Thank you for your opinion Maxim. However if Milo and other potential Sea Rats would want their sigfig to count, they should follow the guidance set by the faction leaders. They're the ones tallying up the points.
  2. None of the Brethren of the Brick Seas factions are meant to be very similar to a particular country. Any likeness is purely coincidental.
  3. Brethren of the Brick Seas has launched! I recommend checking out the following topics first: Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Introduction and Starting Thread Welcome to BoBS and Merry BoBSmas! [MASTER INDEX] The Empire of Corrington Nickname: The Scientific Kingdom Colors: Red and Black Flag: The Empire of Oleon Nickname: The Kingdom of Faith Colors: Blue and Dark Blue Flag: The Empire of Eslandola Nickname: Cash Empire Colors: Green, Gold Flag: Although this is the official flag, you are welcome to create your own variations or stick with purist flags. 4. Oleon's Builders' Bulletin Board Don't know what to moc? Want to build where input is most needed, or do you fancy a bargain license? Or are you simply looking for some co-op fun? Look no further! Here you'll find a constantly updated overview of all current building programs going on in Oleon. Also, if you got ideas for additional initiatives, contact your local leader today! Click here for more info!
  5. Quick Start Guide Going through all of the topics and forms can be overwhelming. This tutorial was created in an effort to get Oleon Citizens to understand the steps involved getting the most out of their builds for BoBS. There are multiple levels of commitment, Joining, Freebuilds, Economic Game System, and Monthly Raiding and Commerce Action. BoBS has currency, so consider the amount you're spending. Joining the Empire of Oleon in Brethren of the Brick Seas Share a picture of your main character along with his back story in this topic! Remember, BoBS is story driven. Freebuilds Posting freebuilds in BoBS is a two step process once you've posted your MOC in the BoBS Forum. Posting your entry in the appropriate Monthly Free Build Registration. And filling out the Freebuild Google Form. You may then post your land-based MOC in the appropriate settlement topic, with links provided in an above post. If you are not sure or don't care where your building goes, let the Oleon Leadership Team know, so that we can place it at a location inline with our plans for growth. Your free build will then benefit the settlement by increasing its settlement level and trade value. Economic Game System (EGS) To participate in the Economic Game System with Properties, there is the EGS topic. Fill out the appropriate form for each building. When placing properties in one of the above settlements, you are not placing the property on NPC territory. We do not have modifiers (yet). Breshaun is located in Le Bellan A8. And Eltina is located in Le Bellan G17. (Your first small license besides Forts and Mines is free) In your posting for the settlement, mention that your property is licensed. Monthly Raiding and Commerce Action (MRCA or sometimes called YMCA) Participation in the MCRA is an exciting venture! And the thrill of waiting for the outcome will take your breath away! Want to join? In short, here's how (all required paperwork can be found here) Note, your first Class 2 or smaller vessel is free.: Build a ship MOC, and post it, Register it in the Freebuild-Thread, and additionally register it via the FB-Form, License your ship (you have a free license available to start right away!) using the Ship License Form, Fill out the MCRA Form, OR (better and preferred)... Send the Leadership Team a PM to gain access to the official 'Royal Escorts' chat to benefit from our experience and the King's protection, In any case: pray to Poseidon! If you still have questions, feel free to ask in this topic, in the BoBS intro topic, or PM one of the leaders.
  6. Royal Naval Units based in New Terra Forces of La Royale History: Although still a rather new formation of La Royale, the New Terra Fleet has quickly grown in size and importance to the realm, as it is the major naval force responsible for securing Oleon's influence beyond the line - a power truly to be reckoned with. Commanded by: Maurice Barat de Briqueville (default NPC) List of active warships: HRS Ville de Granoleon (5A2) HRS Breshaun (5A2) HRS Eltina II (5A2) HRS Astrapi II (5A1) captured by Deamon St. Lure, notorious pirate of Bastion, Jan. 617 HRS Ville d'Astrapi (5A1) HRS Ville d'Acropolis (5A2) HRS Pride of Oleon (5A2) HRS Tigre (5A2) HRS Triton (5A2) HRS Combattante (5A2) HRS Infatigable (5A1) HRS Infatigable II (5A1) HRS Audacieuse (5A1) List of warships in drydock: Fortuna (5A2) Blackwater (4A) Vigilio (3A) Loner King (3A) Black Hawk (3A) Credibility (3A) Dirty Hairy (2F) Boogieman (1A) Recent campaigns: -- Ships of the Royal Merchant Fleet Fleur Verte (5T) États de Boussac (5T)
  7. Army Units stationed in New Terra Units of the Royal Army History: The Régiment Royal des Vaisseaux is one of the most famed regiments of the Royal Army. It was raised at the beginning of the Juniper War by orders of Lord Chancellor Calida himself, in an effort to introduce formations that could see service both on land and at sea. In this role the RRV - as its commanders refer to it - excelled in various campaigns during the war. Now His Majesty has ordered the RRV to secure Oleon's interests in New Terra. A task that the regiment will surely live up to! Commanded by: Général de Régiment Hieronymus Martel de Grandvaux (default NPC) Recent campaigns: -- Units of the RNTC History: The Régiment de Lavalette was formed in 617AE. Two battalions taken from a royal Velian regiment make up its core, and added to this are ragtag elements comprised of foreign mercenaries, shady adventurers, Oleander criminals seeking refuge from the Order's wrath - in short, recruitment is a no-questions-asked process - the standard procedure for most of the company's troops. Commanded by: Général de Régiment Jean-Charles Beaufils, Marquis de Cabéliard (default NPC) Recent campaigns: -- The exact distribution of Oleon's troops in New Terra is secret to the public eye for obvious reasons. Be assured though, His Majesty takes the safety of his loyal subjects very seriously. A new Company of royal soldiers will be send by the King for every island that is rightfully claimed by Oleon. Additionally, new troops can be raised according to the following chart.
  8. La Compagnie Royale pour le Commerce de la Nouvelle Terre - The Royal New Terra Company Royal Charter Directeur: Pierre Lavalette Genaro, Duc de Vele, Pair d'Oleon, et Intendant Général des Finances Lieutenants: -- Supervised by: Le Conseil d'en Haut Chartered Territories: Île de Zeus, Île Sous le Vent, Île d'Or, Stéphanique Intro: Monopolies: Grapes/Wine (est. 9. Using the old form explains some of my confusion. I changed the ship class to War Sloop. Is this the latest form?
  10. This ship is looking awesome so far. I would really like to see some close ups of the bow. The bow looks really well done. Thank you very much for sharing your progress.
  11. My stats came from the Cutter class of the MCRA page. Should I have used an Armed Sloop instead? A sloop and cutter are basically the same type of vessel. The Guns, Crew, and Cargo were modified. Guns and crew are what the MOC has, and Cargo was removed. I would assume that vessels would have a trade off between cargo capacity or military use. I noticed the form had fewer ships than what was shown in the MCRA page. I added a +1 to Speed as a modifier assuming the small sloop in the form speed was 2. This would be ideal. There could be trade off between crew, cargo, and guns. Crew require fresh water and provisions, guns require rounds and powder, and cargo generates income. Each class of ship could distribute their crew, cargo, and guns. Investing more in crew means more men manning the ship for prize crews or more provisions in longer voyages. Investing more in guns means more cannons, ammo, and powder. Investing more in cargo means a more lucrative the trade run. I hope this makes sense.
  12. Just thought we'd work through some of the game mechanics with this example. I will split the first post into another topic for the BoBS forum later. I don't expect to gain anything from MCRA before BoBS is launched. I was going to have the ship run Escort Duty. I'm filling out the webform right now. It may contain errors. I figure the Swift is somewhere between a Cutter and an Armed Sloop.
  13. The Corrington Naval Ship Swift MCRA Class:Armed Sloop Speed: 2 Guns: 2 (6 6-pounders) Crew: 2 (13 total crew, 6 able seamen, 4 marines, 2 officers, captain) Cargo: 0 Hull: 1 Possible Opponents: 1 The Corrington shipwrights have designed a new type of vessel to handle escorts and patrols, the CNS Swift. This cutter is able to out maneuver and outrun any vessel it chooses. Only a couple able seamen are needed to run the sails with its smart rigging. This allows more crew to fight and for the cutter to maintain its maneuverability while in action. The streamlined hull means that there is little room for cargo, especially after provisions and munitions are considered.
  14. Merged. We don't need to discuss the same thing in two separate topics.
  15. Don't bump old, dated topics with a one lined comment. You should read this post from the Revisiting Old Topics thread, which is linked in the Site Guidelines. As a new member of EB, you cannot send or receive messages.
  16. With Corrington being the weakest Empire, a huge advantage they have is their advanced cartography skills developed at some of their top academies.
  17. I am a huge sucker for Islander MOCs, especially when they're as well done as this one. crises_crs from Flickr posted Treasures last week. Treasures by crises_crs, on Flickr
  18. Since this topic has nothing to do with Lego, I moved it out of the Lego Star Wars forum and into the Culture & Media forum.
  19. I am not sure if there's confusion, but Alexbrick2000 created this MOC, not I.
  20. This topic is not about taking French. You need to read the Site Guidelines and review this post in the Revisiting old topics thread that is linked in the Site Guidelines. Bumping five year old MOC topics with a short, off topic, non-English reply is not acceptable posting behavior. I hope your future behavior improves.
  21. That's right, you'll be able to find out how terrible I am at MMO games.
