  1. Thanx, I can't wait either X-D 8-o You're right it is the same face! The new, fledgling US Navy needed an experienced captain of frigates at the same time he was looking for a more legal career X-D It was a perfect match *y* But really, This... fig was the only fig i brought with me when i moved to central wisconsin for the summer. Otherwise all the other bricks i have with me at the moment are from BL orders since then. :) Thanx Mosana *y* P
  2. Hey A, It looks pretty close the US Marine "shako" *y* P
  3. Excellent first MOC ZBG! Welcome to Eurobricks and welcome to the Index of MOC Ships. :) I definitely look forward to seeing future MOCs of your's if this is your first. *y* Don't worry "borrowing" others' ideas ;-) If ppl copy any of my ideas, i consider it a compliment X-D Hey, do you have more pics of your crew? P
  4. Very creative vig TT *y* I added it to the Index of Land based MOCs Index. P
  5. I have made some small orders to get some black barrels at the cheaper prices. I have 5 right now, and need 15 more. I won't be able to get this ship done nearly as fast as Z's phantom, so i've got time to make putzy small orders. The main reason they're so expensive is because of my brother duke >:-( He bought 30-50 of them from one person that was selling them all for $2.50 each. The reason he bought so many was to fill his HMS Victory with 32 lb long guns in one of his gun decks. If my Constitution gets completed before his Victory, I may have to "borrow" some of his barrels ;-) I'll get the amount i need... ...eventually X-D P Phredit ( :-D ): Got as complete as possible on my custom crew so far for the next week or two :) Thanx to Mosana for creating these torso designs also *y* Here's the captain and his headless, legless officers so far :skel1: (Need 4 more officer torsos) The officers (including the captain) appear to wear bicorns instead of tricorns, from what i've seen from pics online. Here's 50 of the 55 US Marines so far. The Marine with the yellow epaulets is sergeant and the Marine without the white cross straps is the marine officer. All the enlisted marines are supposed to have shakos, but i don't have any with me at the moment |-/ . Soon as I have a complete custom-fig (CF), I'll post an individual pic of each CF for demos of the torso library.
  6. Nice LDD MOC Errorist *y* i have been putzing with MLCAD and find it difficult to make larger creations, but this is truly impressive. Also, I've added it to the Index of MOC ships. P
  7. Nice ship hinckley! 8-o *y* There is a lot of detail all over the ship. As already mentioned, it's nice to have a change from all the war ships and pirate ships. The figurehead is very awesome looking; it just looks a little big for this size of a ship. But it does add to the fantasy look of the ship if that's what you're going for. X-D Oh yeah BTW, I added this ship to the Index of MOC Ships too. P
  8. No, i haven't made them out of real bricks cause i don't have almost all my bricks with me 8-| (they're half way across the state right now) I currently have the bricks to make 5 of the 20, need to get 15 more black barrels. The 55 US Marines and 12 Officers are all going to be customs. Just need 7 dark blue torsos and 39 shakos. So far, for the custom crew. I know the enlisted personnel don't have uniforms (which is most of the 450 crew), so i can use most pirate minifig types for them. *y* I agree X-D That it is Mr. Phes. So i'll change the title a little to ease confusion. P
  9. The USS Constitution phreds version Ive had the idea of making a Lego version of the USS Constitution before I saw Ben Fleskes version. Its been up until now that Ive gotten enough of a start on it to post something. the link to where Bens MOC is discussed at EB and the link to Bens website If my version of the Constitution turns out at least as good as Bens, then thisll turn out to be a great MOC. *y* Anywayz, Right now Ive only got the MLCAD model of the 20 32-lb carronades found on the top deck. Heres what Ive got so far: Im not too sure how to do the sliding carriage yet, but I like how the carronade turned out *y* Heres a thumblink of the actual carronade for comparison: I should have some of the crew done before this weekend. Some links of interest about the USS Constitution: The official homepage of the USS Const. Wiki Article P
  10. Whoah 8-o That was fast! Thanx! P
  11. Hey Mosana, have you done a US Naval Captain from around 1812? Here's a thumb link, it's the guy on the left. Thanx, P
  12. Hey T, Nice MOC, especially for a first one. *y* This ship is now in the Index of MOC ships. ;-) P
  13. I found a Washington Post article about how they computer modeled the Archeron in Master and Commander after the USS Constitution. *y* USS Constitution finds a new role P
  14. Hopefully Z is allied with the US navy X-D Then he could have a credible ally. :-$ P
  15. Good idea comparing your Mega-MOC to an Armada Flagship ;-) That was the only lego pirate ship i had still put together when i was building the Dame du Loup. P
  16. The Dutch? :) Should these ideas get suggested to Imperial Scouts game thingy? P
  17. 3/5 (had a hard time choosing between a 4 or 3 :-/ ) There are some key things missing as already mentioned: Mainly the steering mechanism and anchor. When available in stores, this was a good cheap ship to buy to beef up one's pirate forces for a small price. *y* I personally don't own this set, but me bro, duke, does; so i've seen it personally growing up. The brick count and construction is pretty stingy, but it definitely is much better than the cross bone clipper *n* :-X If there is a review of the cross bone clipper ever. there should be a negative number available in the poll (at least a 0) :-D P
  18. And Spanish! *y*
  19. First off, to let you know A, I'm not too picky as to what your shako will look like; as long as it's similar to the lego version (that you've already stated you want to stay close to the design of) I like the idea of the plum piece being multiple colors *y* It'd add more realism and distinction to each person's army. Maybe make your version of the shako a little bell-shaped (but not too much), so it could be passed off as a french bell-shaped or an english straight-shaped shako. I think it'd be a good idea to add some braiding and other details into the sides and front of the shako. P
  20. It would probably be easier if there were only two "sides" of the whole thing, but still have 4(ish) fleets. Cause after all, there are allies. The french , spanish, and their privateers versus the british, (don't know who their allies are 8-| ), and british privateers. What do ya think? Then the french and spanish could talk to each other etc. P
  21. Nice MOC *y* Welcome to EB. I added this MOC to the Land Based MOCs Index. Also, in case you didn't know, there are other indexs at the Great Library of Honduras too. ;-) P
  22. Give me a year or two, I'll give you a credible threat X-D P
  23. Thanx, i added it to the Accessory MOC index. P
  24. Great troops Fordo! *y* Look forward to them having shakos :) Just so you know, i edited your first post to have thumbnail-links to hopefully generate more interest in these troops. P
  25. Probably more than hundreds of plates will be needed. :-$ Once i get some crew done i'll start a thread *y* P
