Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion

Don't forget Wasp too! -
Galadriel's hair seems darker than what we usually see on blonde characters. Tan might have suited her better, but this colour does look more natural than the bright yellow Legolas has.

Here's a comparison of the two figures:

Thanks for the pics. Witch-King Battle All three minifigures look amazing. The build, while small, fits in nicely with the Dol Guldor sets we have and has a nice assortment of parts. Looks like it could work as a nice army builder too. Lake-Town Better than I was expecting. I'm sure it will look great alongside the previous Lake-Town set. Love the new hairpieces for the Orcs. Battle of Fives Armies Dain looks awesome and I love that we're getting Thorin with his crown. More orcs are welcome and the catapault looks well designed. Pretty disapointed with the rest of the character selection though. Another Azog instead of Bolg? Another Legolas instead of armoured Thranduil? Another eagle over Bear Beorn? Another Bard - who's already in the Lake-Town set this wave - over an Iron Hill Dwarf? I think they could have done better here. Don't remind me. The ONE female character I wanted most from this line - the one that actually mattered is likely never to happen now.

Why were there no MARVEL sets for the Thor 2 and TWS
wesker replied to smkaemp's topic in LEGO Licensed
My guess: 1. Licensing could have been a factor. Lego may only be allowed to produce sets from only one MCU film per year, or it simply may have been cheaper for them to do so. Iron Man 3 and GOTG just happened to be the bigger films for those years. 2. In the case of Captain America - the second film wasn't very "toy friendly". There weren't a lot of options for potential sets outside of SHIELD vehicles - and they had already been released two years earlier with The Avengers. The only thing the film had going for it was the characters and most of them are going to show up in future movies anyway. Thor is a different story. There were plenty of great set possibilities for the second movie, which brings me to the next issue... 3. While Thor is popular as a character, he isn't quite strong enough as a brand name. Just look at Hasbro's action figure line for the first Thor movie which failed to sell any product. If someone was interested in a minifigure of Thor and he was currently available in two sets - one labeled under Thor: The Dark World and another under The Avengers - chances are that person is more likely to go with the Avengers set simply because its a stronger, more appealling brand. -
The 2009 Agents line in particular has some great vehicles if you're looking to expand SHIELD. The colours are a perfect match to the ones in the Avengers sets.

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion

If Ant-Man shows up next year, I get the feeling its more likely to happen as a loose tie-in under the "Avengers Assemble" brand. He just isn't the type of character that can be marketed the same way as GOTG and without a previous track record headlining merchandise I don't think Lego would take the risk. Remember how badly Hasbro's action figure line for the first Thor movie flopped? -
Its a MOC. It mentions in the description its not an official set.

If Geonosis Troopers is a Clone Wars set, it will be interesting to see if the minifigures continue to use the stylized anime faces since Rebels has gone back to the traditional Lego look.

But you forget the sets for the first Avengers movie also contained multiple figures of Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye and Loki. I don't think an extra set is necessary to cover everyone - we just need less repeats of the same characters this time around so those slots can go to the new characters. -
Seems there's still four more unidentified sets. I wonder what they could be. 75088-90 should be the store exclusives since they are always numbered last. 75078 Imperial Troop Transport 75079 Shadow Troopers 75080 AAT 75081 T-16 Skyhopper 75082 TIE Advanced Prototype 75083 AT-DP 75084 Wookie Gunship 75085 ??? 75086 ??? 75087 ??? 75088 ??? 75089 Geonosis Troopers 75090 Ezra's Speeder Bike

So happy we're finally getting a new AAT. Hopefully it will be as well designed as the 2008 version only in Episode I colours this time. Fingers crossed for Theed Battle Padme and Boss Nass. I also missed the original T-16 so I'm glad we're getting another shot at it. Some Tusken Raiders or a deleted scene Biggs Darklighter would make this a must buy! The micro fighters seem pretty decent. Hopefully the Snowspeeder will come with a named pilot like Wedge Antilles rather than another generic one. Not as keen on next year's battlepacks however. I don't care for EU-ish troopers and am pretty burnt out from all the clone variants at this point. Just give me a set with four plain white clones and I'll be happy, Or better yet some OT Stormtroopers and Naboo Soldiers. The Rebels line up is about what I expected it to be. Wonder if we'll finally get that elusive Bail Organa thats been missing from all the PT and TCW sets? Biggest disapointment - no Bounty Hunter Pursuit remake. Hopefully it can still turn up as a store exclusive.

Does anyone know which store is selling the Droid Tri-Fighter? -

The only problem with Storm's head is her alternate face will be visable beneath the headress from behind. -
I think the best we can do at this point is assume the worst and start supporting any LOTR based projects on Ideas. And not just by voting for them but also help spread the word. Even if they don't pass review we are still showing that there is a strong enough interest in this line. All these projects have less than a year to get the necessary support and its better to push them now before they're removed from the website rather than just wait for confirmation on the fate of the line.

That new Catwoman is amazing! I'd love to see that in a set someday. She and Two-Face are definitely due for another appearance.
-
I didn't mind Ezra. He wasn't as annoying or bratty as Ahsoka was in her debut.

Usually any set leaks that come out around August/September are only from the Winter wave. We don't really hear anything about the Summer wave sets until around December/January.

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion

I hope we see something from GOTG as well as X-Men next year. What I loved about this year's line up was how much variety there was with four different Marvel brands being represented. Last year was fairly underwelming by comparison where everything was just Spider-Man and Iron Man with nothing else. Hopefully they can keep up the variety of different superheroes. -

The current mold is fine. I rather see Lego release some new big fig characters than waste their budget on redesigning the Hulk when he doesn't need to be remade. -
Indiana Jones was missing quite a few important characters such as Sallah, Toht, Colonel Dietrich, Walter Donovan, Mac, Colonel Vogel, Marcus Brody, Oxley and the Grail Knight. Still the theme was lucky to get two more waves after the release of KOTCS despite there being no media support. If only LOTR could get the same...

Check the first page of the thread. Dain has been reported by two sources from the London Toy Fair. Nothing else has been confirmed for the BOFA set though.
-
We usually get set names for the Winter wave in late August/September. Summer wave sets are usually around December.
-
You can see her in the latest trailer. She's wearing a very different costume this time around though. If we do get a minifigure of her, we probably won't be able to update the CW figure due to the headgear she's wearing.

Does Lego still even use baseplates in their sets anymore apart from the modular buildings?
