If the license is ending soon that would explain why we're getting the sets two months earlier this year.
-
Legolas and Arwen's hairpieces should be fine since they're both fairly generic.
-
Exactly this. Eowyn's armour is distinctive from the rest of the Rohirim and customizing her from existing parts just isn't the same as having an authentic minifigure of her. Throwing a random female head on Eomer or a Rohan Soldier's body just isn't going to cut it. Going by that mindset I might as well build my own Gondor soldiers using the silver helmet and armour pieces from Kingdoms/Fantasy Era, or make the Witch-King by putting the MOS's helm on a Ringwraith's body. She deserves a proper figure just as much as the others.

Hawkeye's new costume looks pretty cool. I don't want to see Pepper die though. She's one of the few love interests in superhero movies that actually has any personality. Plus if there's another Iron Man movie I wouldn't mind seeing her suit up as Rescue.

Didn't the DK minifigure encyclopedia also mention the LOTR line was set to continue with more sets later in 2013?- 298 replies

Sadly I don't think there's much chance of that happening unless the character actually appears in one of the cartoons. -
^ That set sounds great for the most part, but its still missing one key character. Replace one of the three orcs with Eowyn and rename the set Battle for Gondor and it would be perfect.

I don't think it matters that much. The beards hide most of the face for both characters anyway.
-
I seriously have no idea what they were thinking with those set choices in the second wave, but there's no doubt they played a big part in killing the line.
-
Disapointing but can't say I'm surprised.

There's nice clear pictures of Galadriel and the Witch-King.
-
It connects between the two other Dol Guldor sets.
-
Galadriel is even better than I expected. The face, the golden hairpiece and glittery silver cape all look stunning! The Witch-King looks just as amazing too. They're both certainly worth the wait! The BOFA set looks much better now that I've seen the tower. I might buy a few extras without the minifigures and ballista to expand Dale.

Aurra Sing's hairpiece would be more fitting for White Tiger than the orc one. -
The 2001 version was around the same price as the Jedi Interceptor. Has even less pieces (158) than all the 2014 sets at that price range too.
-
There was no reason for Aragorn to have a crown mold though. The only time he ever wore one was at the end of ROTK during the coronation, and the only chance we'd have of seeing a minifigure in that costume would be in a Minas Tirith set.

The Avengers Tower definitely needs to be higher priced to be done justice. I think we'll probably see a new Quinjet for around the same price as the old one since its being completely redesigned for the new movie. And the Hulk/Hulkbuster set taking the place of the Helicarrier Breakout since all the superhero bigfig sets seem to be around that price range. Aren't Fury and Rhodey supposed to have pretty minor roles this time much like Pepper did in the first movie? I don't think there's much chance of seeing minifigures of them if thats the case. Would be great if we got Bruce Banner and Maria Hill in the Avengers Tower though. Steve Rogers too if they don't give Cap a separate helmet like the Flash. -

One set isn't enough. We should at least get two if we're forced to wait every two years for more X-Men. The next movie is bringing in a lot of fan favourites too like Jean, Gambit, Nightcrawler, Mystique and Apocalypse. I'd hate to miss out on those characters in favour for ones we already own. -
No sign of Sabine? I really hope this isn't going to become a trend in the SW line with Lego cutting down on the female characters. This year was a joke with Hera and a rehashed Ahsoka being the only two female figures included in the sets.
-
Wasn't the original AAT from 2001 around the same price point?

Avengers Tower would be awesome if done right. I'm not expecting anything with the size and detail of Orthanc - but it needs to be a lot more substantial than what the Daily Bugle set was. Something along the price point of this Police Station would be good - around four stories tall and filling out a 16x16 baseplate. Would be nice to get some of the heroes out of costume too like Bruce Banner and Steve Rogers. I really hope we get her too. -

Did you see any other Marvel sets besides the Avengers?
