  1. Perhaps Lego might do something for Wolverine's 50th Anniversary next year? Hasbro are releasing a bunch of 2-packs next year with a fancy anniversary logo for it and we've already seen both companies promote similar anniversary celebrations across the Star Wars theme (including Clone Wars and ROTJ this year) Hopefully we can start getting some summer wave rumors soon to get a better idea of what to expect. Lego wasn't the reason for the drought. Marvel had blacklisted all X-Men and Fantastic Four merchandise and media tie-ins shortly after Days of Future Past released which lasted up until Disney bought out Fox Studios. It affected everybody not just Lego. Those legs would've been perfect for Lizard. Its a shame we don't see them appear more frequently in sets. The Geonosians and Zeb could certainly use them in the Star Wars theme.
  2. Sign me up for the Royal Starship. Its long overdue! I hope we get a couple more TPM sets in the summer wave. A Dual of the Fates diorama or remakes of the Naboo Starfighter, AAT and MTT would be great to see. Still waiting for minifigures of Boss Nass, Shmi Skywalker and Theed Battle Padme too.
  3. I don't see the Infinity Saga sets going away anytime soon. Even if the current MCU films are failing the older ones are still beloved by many and have been such an integral part of modern pop culture. The Avengers Tower selling out so quickly shows there's still a market for MCU products. Personally I'd love to see the next Marvel CMF series to drop the Disney+ theme entirely and focus on comic variants for the Avengers instead. But for now I think the best we can expect is the occasional variant included in the mech sets like the new War Machine that's coming out.
  4. https://www.marvel.com/articles/gear/hasbro-marvel-legends-x-men-97-wave-2 Hasbro has revealed their second wave of X-Men 97 figures. Will be interesting to see how deep Lego goes with the character selection for their products. I have no doubt we'll be getting Jean Grey next year but I really hope Nightcrawler is also able make the cut for the X-Mansion. The Goblin Queen and X-Cutioner would be nice to have too but I'd prefer getting Mystique, Sinister and Sabretooth first before those two. As bad as Magneto's new costume looks I do think the dark purple on Hasbro's figure works a lot better than the brighter colors on Lego's version.
  5. Lego's cape still works as a simplified version of it. Even though Sinister's has more strips than Ronan's they both split apart on either side with a large gap in the center. This clip from the original cartoon shows what I mean: If it was reused for a Lego Mr. Sinister I don't think the number of strips would be that noticeable once the cape has been combined with a cloth collar.
  6. I like the idea of a similar brick build for Surtur. But I reckon if they were to ever release a set of Asgard they might as well go all out with a massive D2C like the Avengers Tower and Daily Bugle. Its the only way to really do a location like that justice and deliver the full cast of characters. Absolutely! They're easily two of the most important characters we're missing from the MCU. But I think Thor as a whole could really use more attention. There's so many other notable missing characters we haven't gotten yet. Lady Sif, Frigga, Warriors Three, The Destroyer, Malekith, Kurse, Skurge, Laufey, even comic book characters like Beta Ray Bill and the Enchantress. Hopefully if we do get a Sentinel next year it will be its own standalone set and not shoehorned into the X-Mansion.
  7. I don't think Sauron needs to be brick built. He's no different in size to a regular person. If we ever did get him down the line a specialized head mold on Man-Bat's body and the CMF devil tail would probably be the most accurate way to depict him. Hopefully it gets reused for Sinister either in the X-Mansion or another set in the summer wave. The new cape is too perfect for him. The face print looks like it has been changed too. The design is still consistent with the CMF figure but comes with a happier expression this time. Its longer in the cartoon but not to the extent that we see on this minifigure. I'd say the best choice would have been Luke's hairpiece from the Sequel Trilogy sets in white.
  8. The build for the Blackbird is a big improvement over the 2014 version. They've captured the sleek angles a lot better this time around. Still disappointing that the set isn't much bigger in size over the previous model. Hopefully we get official pics of the interior soon but I suspect it won't be able to seat more than four minifigures. The Sandman set turned out better than I thought it would and I like that it can integrate with the Statue of Liberty set. Its also great to finally have an official Lizard minifigure. The new War Machine minifigure looks great but I don't really care much for the venomized variants. Seems like a waste when we still don't have comic variants for other classic Spider-Man villains. Hopefully we get something in the summer wave. A stand alone Sentinel set would be an obvious choice with how much this theme loves its mechs and construction figures. Given that there are no other MCU films coming out next year it would also be nice to at least get something to tie in with Deadpool 3 even if it isn't directly based of the movie itself. In regards to Magneto I'm not too bothered if the latest figure ends up being recycled for the mansion. He's appeared almost as frequently in Lego as Wolverine has that its inevitable that they'll revisit the red costume again some day. I actually wouldn't mind that. A similar cloth piece to the one Scarlet Witch is currently using could work quite well for both Gambit and Jubilee. Something else that crossed my mind is whether Princess Leia's printed skirt could be reused for Mystique. Its already appeared on other minifigures outside of the Star Wars theme and could be a useful way to save costs on new prints that would be better served going towards other X-Men characters.
  9. The Infinity Saga sets have been some of the best we've gotten out of the theme over the past few years. Aside from wanting to see a couple more missing characters covered (mainly from Thor, Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy) I don't really have any complaints. The Multiverse Saga on the other hand has been very hit or miss when it comes to both the set quality and character selection while Spider-Man has been completely forgettable lately outside of the Daily Bugle and Final Battle diorama.
  10. Hopefully we get a new Ultron in the Quicksilver set.
  11. The Avengers Mansion seems unlikely to happen anytime soon. The X-Men are already providing a mansion and the Avengers already have a home base with the tower. Its redundant to release one while both those sets are still on shelves. Even once they retire I'd assume Wayne Manor and the Avengers Compound would be a higher priority for the modular treatment over the Avengers Mansion. If Lego were to release the Baxter Building or Daily Planet it makes more sense to do so while the Fantastic Four and Superman are both relevant in the public eye and capitalize on the hype for their new movies. 2025 is the perfect time to do it. While Marvel is the easily more popular brand over DC I'd argue that Superman is far more popular than the Fantastic Four. Either way I'd be happy with whichever option they go with.
  12. Unfortunately even with the sets we're getting there's just not much to talk about. Its nice we're finally getting some BTAS content but at the end of the day its still just another Batmobile and a D2C that's giving us the bare minimum of characters. And I think its safe to say most of us here don't have much interest in buildable figures and 4+ sets. At this point I'm more interested in what 2025 holds and whether The Batman 2 and Superman Legacy can breath some life back into this dying theme.
  13. The simple solution would be to just have the set cover both films. Its not like it hasn't been done before with the Death Star, Sanctum Sanctorum and Avengers Tower.
  14. He's coming. There was a leaked pic of a new Quicksilver torso a couple weeks ago.
  15. For an Avengers set sure. But when we're almost 12 years into the Marvel theme and still have barely any X-Men characters we don't really need those spots taken up by characters we've already gotten before. She was a playable character in the first Marvel Superheroes game so her costumes shouldn't be that big of an issue. I assume they will just give her plain unprinted legs like Cyclops anyway which would help tone the costume down a bit. He is the main villain of X-Men 97 and a major antagonist from the original 1992 series which is reason enough to include him. He also has the benefit of being a fairly cheap and easy figure to pull off. While I don't think its a certainty he will appear in the mansion I wouldn't rule him out either. Even if he doesn't appear in the mansion he surely has to be front of the line if we get future waves of system sets. With Magneto, Mystique and Sabretooth out the way the next biggest names from the X-Men's rogues gallery come down to him, Juggernaut and Apocalypse. Many of them are popular and well known though. They might be supporting players in the animated series but Colossus, Iceman, Nightcrawler, Archangel and Psylocke are still mainstay X-Men in other media and wouldn't have any issue appearing in regular system sets. Kitty Pryde too despite never appearing on the show. If it wasn't for X-Men 97 pushing the likes of Morph and Sunspot onto the main team I'd say those characters would naturally be next in line once the 90s TAS team is covered.
  16. I'm 50/50 on Rogue. I understand that keeping her exclusive would provide incentive for the X-Jet but I can also see having the complete TAS team available under a single set being a draw in itself. It really depends on how far into the year the X-Mansion releases and whether enough time has passed that having her in another set won't really matter. For the new minifigures my guesses are: Professor X, Mystique, Sabretooth and Emma Frost as they were present in the preliminary image Jean Grey, Gambit and Jubilee to complete the original TAS team Beast in the lab coat Bishop as he's been a huge part of other X-Men 97 merchandise Maybe Deadpool (to circumvent the 18+ rating) and Mr. Sinister (main villain of the new show) I suspect many of 97's new recruits (Nightcrawler, Archangel, Sunspot, Forge, Morph and Cable) and legacy X-Men (Colossus, Iceman, Psylocke and Kitty) will be released gradually over the coming years like Spider-Man's supporting cast was. I don't think we'll see big figs of Juggernaut and Apocalypse either until 2025 at the earliest.
  17. That blue only works for the movie Mystique. For the comic/animated version the lighter shade that Ronan's new figure is using would be more accurate for her. The colors on Jean's costume also tends to vary between the source. In the comics its the standard yellow and blue (like the Lego Marvel Superheroes game) but in X-Men 97 its more of a mix of between bright orange, dark blue and black.
  18. Looks like a solid figure overall. Shame they skipped out on leg printing but at least there are dual molded alternatives available to swap them out with. Even with its flaws the new Cyclops is still a huge upgrade over the 2014 version.
  19. Hopefully they go with Firestar's instead. That one resembles Jean's 97 look a lot better and it is still currently available in red thanks to the Daily Bugle. I don't think we've had a red version of Rogue's piece in production since Poison Ivy in 2019.
  20. Same here. I'm surprised we haven't gotten a Clone Wars Obi-Wan in so long. I know we got Anakin in 2018 but that one can definitely be improved with more accurate colors for the costume. It would also be nice to revisit the different Jedi Council members again as well as any notable characters still stuck with the 2008 animated face printing such as Aurra Sing, Pre Vizsla and Savage Oppress.
  21. The design of the print is disappointing for sure but I get that there's likely limitations to how much of that particular mold can be covered. I just hope we don't see Rogue's hairpiece reused for the other female characters that may be coming in the X-Mansion. Its overused enough as it is and there are much better alternatives that can be used for Jean, Emma and Mystique.
  22. Its on the Legoleak subreddit.
  23. Ronan's new minifigure is pretty disappointing. Looks like a huge downgrade over the previous version.
  24. Glad Hulk's hair is removable. Definitely adds some versatility to big figs going forward. Maybe one day we can get a separate helmet piece for Thanos? Happy with how they've pulled off the tower although accessing the interiors is going to be tricky without the removable floors, especially the lab with the glass bridge blocking the way. Its great to see the Leviathan comes with its own display stand as well. I'm sure it will be regular yellow if Wolverine and Rogue are anything to go by. The only character who should be using bright orange is Jean Grey. I am curious how the rest of Cyclops' uniform will look whether they go with regular blue or dark blue. I'm guessing the hair will also be dark orange like Rogue's as well.
  25. That one's presumably already coming in the Gotham City set.
