  1. Echo's looks like it might be the same piece used on the CMF Dino Tracker from Series 12.
  2. The helmet has been around for a while. It was used on the Endgame Ant-Man figure back in 2019. We should be getting a new Wasp minifigure quite soon in the Avengers Tower set this November. No word yet on Ant-Man. Current rumors indicate he may just be a micro figure but as we've seen with Kang/Goliath that can easily change.
  3. Shame about not getting Kang but it sounds like that was more an issue of leakers misidentifying the minifigure rather than the character being cancelled and replaced. The X-Men are definitely the highlight of the wave but I still wouldn't be surprised if we do see these figures reused in any potential sets next year. It would be strange to have the rest of the 97 team easily obtainable but Wolverine of all characters being locked behind a blind box. I can definitely see Storm swapping out the mohawk for long hair but keeping the same uniform for the X-Mansion. Hawkeye also looks to be the best likeness we've gotten of the character yet. Hopefully this carries over to the minifigure that's coming in the Avengers Tower set.
  4. Blurry pics of Beast and Moon Knight from the package art are out on Reddit. Shouldn't be too long for the rest of the characters to be revealed. I like the sound of a buildable Sentinel minifigure that's included with the X-Men characters. Also starting to see more X-Men 97 merchandise from other companies pop up. Hopefully Lego has a decent selection of sets lined up for the January wave. Yeah they were all in the leaked preliminary image. Beast had a lab coat while Wolverine and Storm were the same 2014 figures, although there's always the possibility of the final product just reusing the CMF figures. We've seen it done before with other licensed themes including Tiana recently in the Disney Castle remake.
  5. I hope they keep any X-Men 97 sets focused solely on the X-Men. There's just too many characters to cover. Assuming the minifigure line up for the X-Mansion remains the same as the leaked image, we'll still be missing: Jean Grey, Gambit, Rogue and Jubilee from the main team Mr. Sinister, Nightcrawler, Bishop, Cable, Morph, Forge, Sunspot, Sebastian Shaw and Callisto from X-Men 97's supporting cast Legacy characters such as Apocalypse, Juggernaut, Iceman, Colossus, Psylocke and Archangel from the original show At least with the Fantastic Four we know they have a movie coming in 2025 so its only a matter of time before we get minifigures of them. I'd be happy if they got their own comic themed set before then, but I don't want them to take away spots from X-Men characters in an X-Men set when we currently have so few of them.
  6. Hopefully 2025 is the year we see a modular Daily Planet set released alongside the new Superman film. I think its going to come down to either that or the Baxter Building for the Fantastic Four reboot. The Daily Bugle should be close to retired by that point so having another press building on the market shouldn't be an issue.
  7. I could see Deadpool getting included in an 18+ X-Mansion much like Punisher was with the Daily Bugle. I don't think the film itself will get a direct tie-in set but hopefully Lego still goes all out on the X-Men merchandise next year. Spoiler warning for Deadpool 3 - but it will also be interesting to see if
  8. We should be due for a new prequel version of the N1 soon. We haven't had a yellow version since 2015 and that set was too large for what it needed to be. A downscaled version that's similar in size to the 1999 or 2002 sets would be great. Plus we are long overdue for a Theed Battle Padme figure. Perhaps Ric Olie can be included too instead of a generic Naboo Pilot this time? Still holding out for remakes of Jango Fett's Slave I and Bounty Hunter Pursuit. Hopefully Lego has something in the pipeline before the new movies start picking up again. I'm also hoping Yavin IV can pave the way for more locations to be made outside the MBS label - most notably the Endor Bunker and Geonosis Arena. Any word on when the TROS Millennium Falcon is due to retire? That one has been going for 4 years now. Surely we must be up for another classic version soon, preferably with that new cockpit piece that came in the 2022 Space Port sets. Finally I'd also like to see a new Clone Turbo Tank and MTT in the near future. With prequel UCS sets making a comeback I wouldn't mind if the Turbo Tank takes the next spot after the Venator. I just hope that in the case of the MTT it has better storage capacity than what the 2014 set did. I don't mind if they keep the scale roughly the same but the droid rack should at least be able to carry 12-16 Battle Droids. I'd also prefer another TPM version over TCW if it means getting Boss Nass. Unfortunately I think we've missed our chance on The Client unless they come out with a Nevarro Cantina. Would be nice if the next crop of Mando sets could at least cover Axe Woves, Koska Reeves, Cobb Vanth and Gideon in the Dark Trooper armor.
  9. The new Ghost is a big improvement over the 2014 model. Glad we're getting an interior this time even if it is small. The new lekku mold for Ahsoka also looks pretty good in the promo image. Hopefully its hard plastic rather than rubber this time. I could also see it being reused on an updated TCW Ahsoka figure in the coming years. Hopefully HD pics of the Gunship and the rest of the Ahsoka wave aren't too far off.
  10. Same thoughts here as the CMF series, Buildable Figure and Wolverine mech. I'm glad we're getting product from X-Men 97, but when are we going to get proper minifigure scale sets? The X-Mansion, Blackbird, Sentinel, Danger Room... those shouldn't be too much to ask. Its like having a range of Batman sets with no Batcave or Batmobile. I can only hope this is just an appetizer and they start doubling down on the good stuff when the show starts airing in January.
  11. I'd say Ghostbusters and Back to the Future would be a better comparison to Indy. The A-Team feels kind of niche compared to those three. Given that both those films have gotten D2C sets I don't see why Indy would be ruled out, but ultimately it depends on the current sales and subject matter if they decide to go that route in the future. The big one everybody wants is the Grail Temple but I think that one could just as easily be done as another diorama instead of a $500 set. Willie is pretty bad but they might have just outdone her with Helena as far as annoying characters go.
  12. First thoughts seeing the box art was that the set looks incredibly boxy, but then after seeing the alternate image with the white background the proportions do look a lot better. Still feels like a missed opportunity not remaking the classic white version. I'm probably going to skip on this one and focus on the three Ahsoka sets instead.
  13. That could have just been a matter of utilizing the set's budget. The diorama still introduced two new printed elements. In this case it probably made more sense to give those prints to parts that are used multiple times throughout the build rather than wasting it on a single use quote and logo tile. I'm completely fine with just having the occasional diorama or D2C set going forward. At least the theme would still live on even if its in a limited capacity. Had we gotten a full blown wave of sets based upon the new movie chances are it would've completely killed the theme off in its entirety.
  14. Hopefully we get a brand new character with the Visual Dictionary. We're definitely due figures for Saw Gerrera, Shmi Skywalker and Nien Numb. If they want to bring back the Celebration theme I wouldn't say no to a new Padme from TPM's final scene. I don't think Palpatine had that many. From my recollection the only variants we haven't gotten from the prequels yet are: - Senator from TPM - Black Chancellor costume from AOTC and ROTS (aside from the under robe changing from gold to black its the same costume for both films) - Declaration of the Empire scene - Senate Duel with Yoda There's also the Clone Army senate scene in AOTC but that one is also the same costume as the ROTS figure that's coming in the Gunship aside from the colors being tweaked between films. There's still a few gaps from the OT left to cover: - Nien Numb - Force Ghosts - Princess Leia (Bespin Escape) - Luke Skywalker and Lando Calrissian (Medical Frigate) - Any named Imperial Officers (Ozzel, Needa, Jerjerrod, Tagge etc) - Additional Cantina patrons - Jabba's court including the rest of the Max Rebo Band I definitely agree they need to start fleshing out the cast of the Prequels more beyond just the Clone Troopers. New Zealand doesn't have them listed on the website either. They might be holding off the release date for both countries so that the three sets ship alongside the Gunship/Ahsoka wave in September.
  15. The problem with alternating between the two is it stretches the line out for far too long. Just on the UCS front you have a number of potential sets in Barad-Dur, Minas Tirith, Orthanc, Helms Deep, Edoras and Bag End. Fans shouldn't be expected to wait 12 years just to cover each of these core locations. Having yearly releases like the Winter Village and Modular Building sets would be much more feasible across a 6 year period. There's also more than enough material for dioramas (or other display pieces like buildable creatures) to co-exist alongside the large D2C sets. The Balrog, Eowyn vs Witch-King, Balin's Tomb, Amon-Hen, Mirror of Galadriel, Mount Doom, Mumakil, Argonath, Weathertop and Osgiliath are just some examples of iconic moments that aren't going to work within the confines of a highly expensive UCS set. To also stretch those releases out for well over a decade (or to ignore those scenes entirely) would be a huge mistake. On the army building front they could always trial those Shop@Home exclusive blister packs but they'll need to tie in with the larger D2C releases. After all it wouldn't make much sense to release a Rohan Soldier battle pack if they're not going to have a modern Helms Deep set to display them with.
  16. One large UCS set in addition to two smaller dioramas per year would be the ideal scenario for me. The line should definitely stay targeted at adult collectors with display models rather than playsets aimed for kids.
  17. Isn't the Gunship Padme going to be a redesign of the Malevolence figure? I'm not sure that hairpiece really works for that particular costume. She really needs one with long braids at the back. Should be the same hairstyle she had wearing the Naboo Pilot outfit at the start of AOTC. They look like two different pieces to me. Morgan's doesn't appear to have the bangs that Wendy does or the loose curls at the back.
  18. A modular GCPD building would be awesome but I'm definitely in favor of the Lego Batman theme moving beyond the comics now. The line was already feeling stale when we went through the Rebirth phase around 2018-2020 with everything feeling "more of the same" and there's not much left to cover beyond a handful of C-list rogues that haven't gotten minifigures yet. The direction I'd like to see them go next is to start basing their character designs of the Batman Animated Series. It would really help freshen a lot of the main characters instead of recycling the same tired comic designs and still provides an opportunity to include missing characters such as Mad Hatter, Ventriloquist/Scarface and Clayface. We're already rumored to be getting a Gotham Skyline set based off the show next year from that leaked survey but hopefully that won't just be a one-off should that set come into fruition. Its also time we filled some gaps from the Dark Knight Trilogy and start exploring the two Schumacher films now that the 60s series and Keaton films have been mostly covered, although both of those should definitely stick to the retail front and not be locked behind expensive D2C sets. Unfortunately that figure has been out of production for about 3 years now. I don't see them bringing her back just for a magazine.
  19. I don't mind getting more comic Spider-Man sets if they bring something new to the table such Kingpin or classic variants of Rhino, Shocker and Electro. If they're just going to recycle the same old characters over and over I'm not going to be as interested. The X-Men are a much higher priority for me over more Spider-Man though and I hope they at least get some decent exposure in the January wave, especially if Lego do intend to go ahead with releasing the leaked X-Mansion set next year.
  20. Sad to see that the new movie is getting obliterated by critics. Perhaps Lego dodged a bullet not releasing any sets for this one? Hopefully the three classic sets have been selling well enough for Lego to consider continuing the theme in a limited capacity, even if that means only getting one 18+ set per year under Icons.
  21. I was expecting Yoda's Starfighter to have an underwhelming minifigure selection, but could they have at least improved upon the build over the last version? I agree with those saying Yavin looks like a 4+ set. Its about time its finally getting represented but I feel they definitely could've done more with the build. Nice to finally be getting Red Leader as a minifigure along with a darker recolor of Padme's Tatooine hairpiece for Leia but the best figure definitely has to be the new Luke Skywalker! Shame C-3PO isn't the dual molded version. The swamp speeder looks tiny but at the end of the day the set is all about the clones. Hopefully we get an official reveal of these sets in the next week or so.
  22. Definitely see this one getting heavily discounted like the Black Panther bust and Hulkbuster did.
  23. But the internet said it was cancelled because of the controversy! THE CONTROVERSY!!! Jabba's Palace, Temple of Doom, Flash Batmobile, Slave Leia... Thank goodness someone stepped in to save us from these problematic plastic toys. My moral values have never been so threatened by THE CONTROVERSY! If the internet says the controversy was behind everything then it must be true!
  24. Everyone assumes Ezra is the reason for rebranding the Batmobile, yet no one ever thinks that perhaps DCEU sets just aren't that marketable? Shazam and Black Adam were both skipped over entirely. The last DCEU set we did get was Wonder Woman 84 which sold terribly. Prior to that was Aquaman, Justice League and Batman vs Superman which were also pretty big shelf warmers. At this point I'd be very surprised if we get anything for the Lost Kingdom, especially with a reboot to the entire DC universe right around the corner. What has been doing fairly well for Lego's DC theme are the recent legacy Batman sets. The 60s Batmobile, Dark Knight Tumblers and Batman 89 sets have had more consumer appeal than any of the DCEU sets regardless of how old those films are. Its something we see all the time in Star Wars with Original Trilogy merchandise constantly outselling the modern Disney Era. Since the new Batcave and Batwing will both be based directly on the older Batman films, it makes sense why they would want the Batmobile to also fall under that same umbrella rather than separated under different branding.
  25. The big question I have is will the Batcave come with the rocket equipped Penguin Army? Can't have a Batman Returns set without them. Hopefully they throw in the Duck Boat as well.
