    If you shoot indoors you will have to evenly light the MOCs with white light. Because (as you say) you are not familiar with cameras and I guess also with bouncing flash etc etc I think the best for you is to wait a cloudy weather and shoot outdoors. So the light from the sun is diffused from the clouds.
