  1. Cute and clever, as usual... I wonder how it is controlled, omniwheel vehicles are not easy to control with a 4 sticks remote... Maybe a NXT + IR-link?
  2. Paul, any chance you could post a close-up photo of the new panels? They are pretty blurry on the BOM... The motor seems new to me.
  3. Always a pleasure to see your wonderful renders! ...30192 Grappling Hook is available as a non-official part on LDraw Parts Tracker! Or maybe you want to use only official parts?
  4. Indeed, you'll need to do some surgery to achieve this. And I'm pretty sure it's not a good idea, as (for example) the IR receiver will fry on increased voltage. No, that's not possible either, bottom of PF cable has 9V connector on one side. This was designed for backwards compatibility, but also to prevent possibility of connecting two battery boxes in parallel (not a good idea either if they contain different battery types/brands/discharding state)
  5. Great! Tell me if you need some help (especially on LDraw side...). I think the key common part should have some assymetry to make sure that there is no ambiguity in orientation?
  6. Markus, have you tried export using latest LDraw.xml file available here. @Hrontos: Yes, there's an interest for that! I even considered writing a tool to build an ldraw.xml entry directly from two ldraw/ldd files using key parts exactly as you describe. But I never acted...
  7. Maybe you should ask on Mindboards forum? http://sourceforge.n...oards/index.php
  8. No, I need to publish something about this, you're right! Ah - nice to see someone interested by these old photos ;)
  9. Having built and programmed a NXT bike inspired by Delft University video, I'm very interested by your project! I guess that if I paid more attention to mechanical design, it would be more stable...
  10. And for programming RCX, I recommend using NQC/BricxCC!!!
  11. Very nice and clever mockups
  12. I have been asked several times to create LDraw models of the new PF motors, they are now available as unofficial parts. Don't forget to download all subparts and compositing elements! PF parts newly created also include the AAA battery box and V2 PF IR-receiver.
  13. Or I just missed it! Anyway, works fine now!
  14. Very nice, Bob! A HUGE one! The overall design reminds me of your rolling ball clock ;) Any video?
  15. Enlightening! Thanks for these excellent videos.
  16. Also note that for full compatibility (eg. fixing in clips), the tube should have an external diameter of 3.2mm, not 3.0mm
  17. Just to make things clear - the two versions of smooth joiner existed only in the LDraw library during a short time. AFAIK the smooth joiner physically exist only in one version, with dimensions that match angle connectors.
  18. Not so sure.... When used with backwards curvature, these minute reinforcement change the minimum radius that can be obtained. These big hollow wheel structures are used eg. in GBC modules. See for example http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=337999 and http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=241800
  19. So do I. MLCad is pretty awkward for building Technic.
  20. Hello Alice, Good luck ;) LDview is a very capable LDraw file viewer (not editor), available with source code. Otherwise, LeoCAD is an editor that can read and write LDraw file, but it has its own library file format (parts are converted from LDraw library). Also available with source code
  21. Mhhhh... definitely nothing here, looks perfectly smooth. That was just to make things clear ;)
  22. I just checked, noticed nothing wrong with them... You know, it takes (a lot of) time to create LDraw models for these complex parts. I am actively creating them...!!! (the servo is almost completed)
  23. Excellent!!! Yes, a few photos would be great...
  24. Very interesting, I was not aware of this collection!
