That torso is very good. I must say it is probably better than what LEGO will do. I've seen the torsos in catalog pictures on BS, so this is very close. Great work!

I'm sorry, but have you ever heard of 'Last rites'? Um, what? Where did that come from. The joke was he was being hung and he stuck to the studs on the trapdoor. The bishop was giving last rites. Besides, if my understanding of Christianity is correct. God can't be killed, and Jesus is still alive but seperated from his body.

Yes, they fit. However, they make the tube go under stress so it mught break if you take it out and put it back in to often.

You were bored when you made this? WOW! After seeing this and the HMS Victory, you must be one of our best builders. We're your MOC Expert tag?

Great MOC. I like the use of the large gat door for a dock. Very inventive. I also enjoyed the technique to make the lighthouse. Could ye be persuaded to post it oo7? It would be good to do something with my extra red torsoes and shakos.

I love it. The architecture is classic Georgian, but unlike real Georgians (red brick and tan stone) this captures those tropical caribbean colors. Despite that it is Victorian, Key West comes to mind with this. Keep it up!

"If it's free" (which it is.) To clarify: I'm in.

I wonder if Brickbeard's Bounty is a ship, and if it's a ship, it has classic hull sections, or something new. Since we've seen the mid-sections used recently, I doubt they've broken molds. Also, if Kraken Attackin' comes with a ship, it would probably be really crappy and small. Or, alternatively, the ship could be the size of the Armada Flagship, and the Kraken could be extremely. More likely, however, is both the ship and the Kraken are both extremely crappy.

YAY! Fulfillment! I am however, pissed about the Kraken set. I would have preferred to not introduce mythology, etc. into the Pirate theme. It could however, be easily turned into a giant squid, if that's the type of kraken they go with. I would be bothered if they went with the giant octopus-type kraken. Unless it's brickbuilt.

Oh, I like this ship very much. I like that the sailors actually have uniforms (the Brits didn't do it for about 200 years after their navy started). The ship is very good. Did you draw inspiration from the Sophie, Jack Aubery's sloop-of-war in Master & Commander?

All very nice entries. That contest sure went fast. Though I was away from EB for about 2 weeks of this month so that's probably why. Not sure how one would use that cannon one, really.

Like most here, I can say that describes most people I know. Even more so because most of the time I am surrounded by people who are very religiously conservative and well... stuffy. 1. Actually, in most cases, English is the most hard to learn, what with all our complicated little rules for grammar and all that. 2. True. In India alone, there are no less than 140 dialects. I personally think e should change the forum to Latin, as no one would have to ask what weird new words like "strewth" (by the way, thanks Sinner for explaining that.), "truthiness,"(that is a word. Or, it was in the 2005 edition of Merriam-Webster Dictionary) "wikiality," mean. SQPR ON! P.S. I was considering making a joke referencing the "My Fair Lady" song "Why Can't the English Teach their Children how to Speak?". Funnily enough someone else mentioned the relatively bad language teaching in the UK.

Actually, I believe it was posted a while ago by SirNadroj, and I confirmed it before that too.

Very nice MOC. I like the fire coming out the window. I am concerned by your use of clone pieces. -
The way that this ship has a very tall stern castle and it somewhat bulbous makes me thing of a flyut. Especially from the back.

Wow. Now I have incentive to check out the LEGO store at the Mall of America. I'd love to get in on old parts like that. KimT: 30 cavalry torsoes? WOW! I envy you, good sir. -
Those are great. The legs for the faun were very well done, and I like the snake knight.
-
Oh my stars and garters, you're right I mostly discount key chains, as they seem to be quite useless to me. I can't believe I forgot about Madeye Moody. You really do your research.
-
Well it's not. It's from the Agents sets. Notice how the duplo sharks are more textured. On topic, interesting tehnique, SirNadroj. How is it done?

I don't much care for the matrix, but for Morpheus, there was a African American medic with orange-ish-glasses in the Spider man line a couple of years back.

I wouldn't exactly call the logo new. All it is is the LEGO logo followed by 'Pirates' in the castle font which is essentially the classic font 'Old English Text', just put in shiny, weathered-looking letters. I'm sure a corporation like LEGO can afford photo shop. However, I have hopes for the theme. This still almost confirms it, considering the fact that the peg leg is no longer produced (and we haven't seen the hook since Alpha Team) and still appears in the ice-cube tray. As for your monster point, I agree that it could be disastrous for LEGO. However, if they make realistic creatures, like a whale, Giant Squid (I really would like this, in the 19th century [i know, after pirates, but still], at least one ship chased down and captured a specimen of Giant Squid), and other sea life that could be threatening to a ship. This find, combined with the reintroduction of other pirate-y elements (ship's wheels, bicornes, cutlasses, conquistadore helmets [the real name of which escapes me at the moment, something along the lines of 'picarion', or 'picaroon']), the spotting of a new Imperial style soldier and vest w/ tatto pirate at Chandler Fashion Center's LEGO store, bodes well for the theme being around next year.

I think building them to scale would be a good idea. And as for the boarding parade and disembarking scenes, just get parts and build the side of the ship! Or better, build the front, back, and one sids, like they did in the original POTC movie.

Well, this is probably legitimate, scince it's being sold at Billund. However, with that cartoony imagry, I feel turned offf by what LEGO may do to pirates. I can handle pirates battling islanders and all that, but ala castle, they will be battling Hydras. Either that or skeleton pirates. Sure, I like the castle theme, but normal humans fighting mythical creatures is now the rule in most themes. If they do that, they probably will still release some sets worth buying. And of course, set qaulity is increasing steadily. I'm now cautiously optimistic.
