  1. Once I figure out how to get photos off my phone You'll see them in due course.
  2. Yeah, I've seeb those too. I have seen a sub made with upside down hull plates. But, according to the novel (and faily well represented in Harper Goff's Nautilus, 9/10s should be under water, and that method would make it too high in my opinion. From Tokyo's lagoon: The things above waterline: The wheel house, the dorsal fin, the scupppers, the skiff, and the tip of rear fin.
  3. Say, what is the frigate called in the LDD gallery? Frigate, ship, and browsing the "Ships+Submarines" section prover fruitless.
  4. Great looking book. I must pick this up! Is it sold in bookstores, of the LEGO store only? I have wonder. The original catalouge features 2 children playing with LEGO in the sand...
  5. This set looks like a dandy. Is the Darth Maul fig any different in respect to the torso or head design to the original?
  6. Well, no one is mentioning it, but TLC does do one MF sets. I was at the LEGO store the other day, and picked up the knight. There is also a fire fighter and I believe there is a troll. There might be more. So buck up and don't be so glum.
  7. That makes sense. But I'm not sure that would make all the difference. All it means is some diversity in your flags.
  8. Very nice decals, Luxor. You are the only person other than Imperialshadows who can whip up great decals like that on the spot.
  9. It was hanging over one shoulder and draped around his waist on the other side. Like Indy's man purse. I could see the front & back of the marine, but pirate was way up front in the theatre and I could only see his back.
  10. No, I'm afraid that she's currently on hold. Yes, it was a great ride. It's model Nautilii (pl?), not so much Not really long enough (even in scale) and gray, not rusty all over. Also, it was only the Nautilus above the waterline. The move squid was blue! Or, it looked like it, since it was t night and in a storm. I watched the deleted version of the squid fight, which took lace at sunset. It actually appeared to be red, as the squid on the ride was. But that one appeared green in the over chlorinated lagoon. And of course, the footage of them building the movie squid is black and white. But that's not the problem. The real thing was 174 ft., I believe, and it's going to be a waterline up model. I know what size to make it because of shots from the move (the dorsal fin is a little taller than a LEGO fig, etc.The problem is, I'm not sure how to construct the deck scuppers on which the wheel house rests, the wheelhouse itself, and the ramming spurs for the front and the dorsal fin. The wheel house eyes, I'm planning to use the trans-blue eye like peices from the diver's base back in the late 90's. Which was the 2nd LEGO set I ever received.
  11. Well, there is, like you mentioned, Lando and the Bespin Guard. There is also: The new South American tribesman from the Indiana Jones Temple. The old basket ball players (though their expressions are obnoxious looking). From an old ambulance set from last year, there is an African American Doctor. They may not be the appropriate skin color, but the Emperor's Palace from the Adventurers features Asian facial features, and the Scorpion palace features a few turbans (as does HP's Prof. Qurriel)
  12. Scince I've never seen waterslide decals in close-ups, I wouldn't know about them, but It looked to be legit. Otherwise, the customizer must have sealed the Decal on so it would look like it was printed. But it shined like a new torso, so I think it was real. I have a photo from my phone, so it will have to wait until the 11th.
  13. Lads, I must eat my words. It recently occured to me that as Nadroj and others are saying that it was a 'new store' (which I don't believe the one in Chandler Fashion center is). I returned for clues and that new creator car set (1). I was at the check out, and rescanned the small dioramas in the shelves, and saw a movie-theatre type scene. In the back row, walking out of his seat, was a red-coated marine with a tricorne hat! His back was printed, with the two overhanging bandoliers and 2 small brown back-pack straps (on his back, confusingly. In the front was a brown vested pirate, with a rope printed on his back. It wasn't in a large display case and posed with other figures like in Nadroj's picture (which is why I think they are different stores we are talking about), but it was there.
  14. So, how do you mean by 'reversed flags?'
  15. That is wonderful! Since this was created in LDD, I'm assuming you ordered it as a set from LEGO? Or did you painstakingly order each part on BL? Because, if it is on the LEGO LDD website, I'd love to buy it!
  16. Very nice! Honestly though, the title of the thread reminded me of a youtube video where they waterproofed a LEGO ship and sent it out to sea. It floated, but they set it on fire. Ironically, the ship was a RBR.
  17. Yeah, there's a skiing resort my family goes to, and it has a machine with all the Metal slug games! Very fun way to spend 20 dollars in about 30 minutes!
  18. A twenty gun frigate with three masts. I'm currently researching ways to build some custom masts for it and waiting to receive bricks to finish the quarter deck. I'm also thinking of some Jules Verne-esque steampunk mocs in the near future.
  19. Great uniforms and instruments, but can they play the CGNU theme song? http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail73.html Hooray for the Jolly Dumple!
  20. The one in the fedora? No, that actually was in yellow, first.
  21. *Remembers fond childhood times* Remember the Wild Ride!
  22. Teddy, this is a very nice ship and deserves the best builder it can get. And it's got it. Keep up the good work!
  23. It's sad that some people were against that. Though since it was not totally obvious what it was about, that was probably the problem. Not necessarily. I think that LEGO takes much of the edge of the scene, but I do have some objections to say, gang rape or child molestation rendered in LEGO. As to the video games: Well, most video games have violence in them. In some it is necessary (i.e. a strategy game in which you fight through historical battles.) But most video games are just violent to be violent. Manhunt, Grand Theft Auto, etc. I will admit, GTA is actually fun, but it doesn't remove my misgivings. As someone else allready said, this generation is kinda screwed up.
  24. That this is quite possibly untrue. I doubt that they were removed, as he posted it on what was it, the 4th? And I arrived in Arizona and visited the only Chandler Lego Store the day after. (This is actually a visit to see my sister, not the figures.) Most of the figures in other pictures are just random head, hair, and body combinations. It could possibly be sample figs from a build-a-fig thing. Of course it\'s not, as the Lego Store in Chandler didn\'t have one of those either. I personally scanned any case, no matter how small, and it just wasn\'t there. That is where we agree.
  25. I am afraid I must concur with anyone who says this is false. According to the Lego Store Locator, the only Lego Store in Chandler is in the Chandler Fashion Center. I am currently staying at my sister's Pheonix Apartment. CFC is about 20 minutes away and I as a matter of fact just returned from there, less than half an hour ago from the writing of this post. There was no display case with Minifigures from upcoming lines. The only display cases were the usual, small one tucked into the shelves with cute little scenes inside, and bigger ones containing set. Until I see more conclusive photographic proof, I am going to say this is false. Don't get me wrong, I'd love for it to be true, but it isn't.
