    MOC: Change Your Fate

"There are those who say fate is something beyond our command. That destiny is not our own, but I know better. Our fate lives within us, you only have to be brave enough to see it." I recall the first time I saw the teaser trailer for Brave. I loved the little will-o'-the-wisps. When LEGO brought out the Disney Princesses line and a Brave set was in the list, I knew right away what I would build and what I would do with it. After a lot of trial and error, some frustration and a little good fortune, I managed to build it to my vision. The lights are from an LED string, they are easy to come by this time of year. Hiding them within the MOC while still making things look good took some doing. It is a shame about the wires, but if I do display then they'll all be tucked out of the way. I have plans for a layout that moves from one tale set-piece to the next and will have plenty of features, so a little Frog Tape and clever frame building will hide the wire to the also concealed battery box. The unlit MOC. Just for more of an overview of it.

    MOC/MOD: Rapunzel's Tower Room

I wasn't best impressed with the official tower set for varied reasons. So, with a little bit of a look at the Art of Tangled and a lot of building and rebuilding, I created a playset/MOC that fitted with what I thought it should look like. I left plenty of play space inside on a dollhouse play principal. The steps, chair and stove from the original set still feature. The window is super important to the story, so I simply transferred it wholly into my new build. I left a nice wide space at the 'front' for further play. At the back is a bed and there are a few other little details placed, hobbies mentioned in the song When Will my Life Begin? I do wish there was an official LEGO produced acoustic guitar though! The Friends guitar had to make do. The back view isn't so exciting. The bed is inside this turret. It will be very easy to build a tower for this room to sit on, maybe that will be the next thing to try. Maybe a little landscaping at the base and such... Thoughts? Comments? Critque?
