    76161 UCS Batwing mods

Hi, first post about doing a mod, but I felt pretty passionate about this one. Having grown up with the "original" Batman films, I loved the UCS Batmobile, and while I also love the lego Batwing, the elongated cockpit really struck me as a bit NQR. I tried various mods on mecabricks, and while the most accurate "shrinkage" (based on the original studio model) of the length of the cockpit would require the removable of (two) of the sections of 1/4 clear wall elements, this would require a full blown redesign of the seat and cockpit to fit it all in the remaining one. I also tried utilizing the new UCS A-wing canopy, but it's width isn't the 8 studs required (6 only), and again, a full redesign would be needed (which is a shame as it is a more accurate shape compared to this sets design) So finally, I settled on removing 2x BOW 1/4 4X4X1 which effectively shortened the length by about 2-3 studs (along with removal of other parts that were between the two cockpit sections). This allowed me to move the front of the canopy backwards 1 stud (more screen accurate) and also move the back "shell" (WALL ELEMENT CONE 3X6X6) forwards - again more screen accurate. To complete the look, I'm planning on printing some back vinyl to make the rear section of the canopy a sloping black area (rather than clear all the way back then a vertical black where the shell starts). The other major change I made was to remove some of the dark grey "detailing" to remain more screen accurate - especially the spoilers. I narrowed them by a stud to take advantage of the void below them created by removing the two LDG 2x6 bricks, which then allowed them to sit much more flush when down (with some detailing underneath 1 stud lower than the rest of the wing area) Instead of writing more, maybe I'll just show what I'm talking about, as it will hopefully make more sense that way. Happy with the overall result. Original model: Original studio model:

  5. Ever thought of collecting all the official LEGO Batman? It's quite tough to get them all nowadays, so today I'm compiling the richest superhero (is he now?)ever released officially by LEGO. BATMAN!!! I don't have these minifigures, so the pictures below are official photos taken from Bricklink, Brickset and Google. In total we have four Bruce Wayne, 57 minifigures, one microfig, two brickheadz and one buildable figure. 6. Hello! This is my entry for the Millennium Falcon contest on The Brothers Brick. Please excuse the poor picture quality as I was in a rush to get it photographed. While Lego Batman was not impressed with those "bunch of dudes" that he stole a hyperdrive from, he did take a liking to their ship, so after Brickburg was saved, he constructed his own version of the Millennium Falcon: the Millennium Bat! Equipped with 2 quad laser cannons, a Bat-computer, a crime lab, a weapons rack, a Bat-radar, a jet engine, powerful wheels, and a dining room for eating lobster thermidor, this bad boy serves as both a big, fierce crime-fighting vehicle as well as a mobile Batcave. The cockpit opens up to seat the pilots inside. The upper quad laser cannon can be lifted up to access the gunner station underneath. And just like on all the official Falcons, the hull opens up to reveal the interior. There are tools, a workbench, the engine, a desk for detective work, and a small bed. This is where our heroes hang their weapons. Here is the Batcomputer and the sitting area. Since Batman doesn't play board games, there is a plate of lobster thermidor instead of the holo chess. A close up of our heroes: Bat Solo (who always shoots first and hits at first try), Rrrrrrobin (who is very hairy), Princess Barbareia, and their loyal butler L-FR3D. Thanks for looking. Let me know what you think of it. To the comments section!

  11. This is the second iteration of "The Bat" that I built. It features an opening cockpit, room for 2 minifigs, movable engine pods, moving rear flaps, and spinning propellers. The most challenging aspect of designing and building it was trying to capture the shape of all the panels on the top and rear of the vehicle.
  12. Hey guys , after waiting two months to get all the parts , everything I need for my Classic Arkham Batmobile has arrived . In my mind I’m still calling this a WIP , as there still remain some changes to be made , but they are really small and subtle , so I decided to post it as it is ( and maybe post a V1.1 later ) . As I’m sure you can imagine , one of these changes is changing the colour of the two “road signs” on the roof of the car to black . Unfortunately , these parts don’t come in black , so I’ll paint them ( I don’t love the idea anymore than you do , but I think the parts fit in perfectly and they look inaccurate being grey and brown ). I am also playing with the idea of adding stickers to give the model that extra bit of accuracy , specifically on the "6005" parts in front of the rear wheels . Finally , what’s a Batmobile without Batman ? I knew , from the moment I started building this that I had to get a custom Arkham series Batman minifig to go along with it . And when I tumbled upon onlinesailin’s Arkham City Batman, I was amazed by the astonishing level of detail, the amazing resemblance to the iconic suit, everything . Thanks “onlinesailin”, for the best minifigure out there , this moc wouldn't be the same without it . Now, I’m sure you came here to see a Batmobile, not read boring details, so here are some pictures . Now let me get that explosive gel ... I really hope you liked my build , please comment your opinion and/or constructive criticism . Thanks for viewing :)

  14. Hi Everyone, Just want to share a video and some photos of a MOC I recently finished. The aim was to make a compact studless chassis with a studded body over it. The result is that the bodywork can be easily taken off and the chassis can be reused for other models. More photos and instructions can be seen on Rebrickable: http://rebrickable.c...s/night-phoenix Thanks!

    MOC Bat-All Terrain Vehicle

MOC Bat-All Terrain Vehicle This is my latest MOC, a cross between a 66' Batmobile and a Tank. I was trying to think of a way to incorporate tracks with suspension that I had designed. I looked at the 66' Batmobile I had built and thought that would be an interesting project. The tracked suspension is full independent on both sides and works great. I've added all sorts of launchers and equipment, so now the villains of Gotham City have no where to hide. The storyline for the existence of the vehicle goes thus: “It’s 1968 and Bruce Wayne decides that he needs an extra vehicle to help control the villains of Gotham City. He contacts his friends at Gotham City Engineering and asks them to build him a new vehicle loosely based on the 1966 Batmobile but a major feature has to be its all-terrain capabilities.” Let me know what you think. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/87749

    [ MOC ] Batman's The Bat

Hi everyone, I am new to this place and great to meet all of you. I am showing this latest creation of mine here, the Bat. Many fans already did their Lego version of the Bat, but I still think it is best to follow what the movie has made. So I bought the book and started to understand what the Bat is really about. It was indeed a very great book! Inside, I got the blueprint of the wonderfully designed plane! It took me nearly two months to start building the form and the put the pieces I wanted onto the structure. This is the first draft I made, though it didn't look too good to me. The right is of course the Tumbler. But I was happy to see the back design, which followed nearly all the parts from the blueprint. It did look like the real thing. Another overview... But I was not happy about it, and it took me another month to modify it. I actually dismantled the whole thing and rebuilt the structure, which I strived hard to follow the curve of the real plane in the movie. Here is the final version, and the side elevation to see the curve body (like a lobster!) It was a little bigger than the previous version, but I think it is still acceptable. The "hands" are also the difficult part, not to say two support rod things behind it which attach to the head of the plane. I keep most of the original design for the back, but add some details. Each part can be slightly adjusted to suit the flying mode. The topmost parts can be dropped and lay flat in the "parking mode". The rear flaps are not too real enough compared to the movie, but since they are used for landing, they have to be rigid. So I decide to use the one piece brick for it, the top fin brick. This another elevation allows you to see the bottom side, which has a series of blades and a pair of propellers (or should I called choppers?) The two windows can be opened, with top one upwards and the front one pulling outwards to the front. (just like in the movie) Two people can be seated inside too. One set complete! Ready to go to fight crime! Done! Thanks for reading! :D I hope you enjoy this! *** Edited on 2012-12-22 some more photos, which show the size of the plane compared to the tumbler in a better angle... ***

    New Member and Lego Fan

I've just got back into Lego after many years, I find it very relaxing, apart from when you stand on it. I've created a Lego Ideas 66 TV Batmobile including Bat Boat and Trailer. See Link: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/70489. Any support would be much appreciated. Best wishes to everyone on this forum.
  21. I recreated the SDCC 1966 Batmobile from the one picture that is available, and than extended it to it's proper size. The included figs are the ones from the Juniors set. I have no clue what the real back looks like, so I guessed... if anyone has it could they please take a shot of the back of the model? Thanks in advance! I'm 99% sure Batman and Robin will fit... the cape won't allow me to put them in their spots in LDD. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1406164535m.lxf What do you think?

    [MOC] The BAT

I like the BAT! So I made my version. Propellers are possible to act if lever or motor attached. This is best view angle I think. Scale is based on mifi scale, so you may make batman or catwoman ride on. This is front view. Slightly remaked from original movie. Back view. You can see the axle which is to rotate bottom and front propeller. Propellers are orthogonal by 90 degree to each other and axle is also orthgonal. This model needs specific mount component which is not yet made.
