    CBS15 Jumpship

Piercing the silence with the deep sharp whir of exhaust outlets with poor silencers, A 'big boned' bearded pilot tears through the baron landscape of the dead-lands, disturbing greatly the dust beneath him. Where is he going? What is his purpose? Great questions, all I know is that his spaceship looks kinda cool and I want one. Hey guys! this is my favorite build i'm taking down to CBS this year. I spent a decent amount of time tweaking it (unlike most of my mocs where i start them one day and have them done within a week) I think I started this in February with a completely different design in mind, and it just evolved every couple of weeks when i came back to it, went through about 3 different pairs of wings, a few thruster designs... initially it was olive and bright green, to put things in perspective. I'm very happy with the result, since I still consider myself to be mainly a castle builder. Thanks to the guys who gave me valuable imput, your feedback is much appreciated :) Come see it in 2 and a half weeks at the Christchurch Brick Show! I've saved the biggest 2 show mocs for the next 2 weeks, space and castle, stay tuned! enjoy! David

    NCS starfighter

Flying to Moonbase 42! Huge thanks to Jim for the canopy, I'm loving it! Always loved NCS, so finally being able to build a fighter in the theme is great :) Unfortunately this one isn't gonna be at brickworld like all the other NCS builds popping at the moment are ;P When I'd just about finished it I realized it looks very Peter Reid, which wasn't intentional but i guess whenever i think of NCS and the classic space style ships I have his builds floating around in my mind, so thanks for being great Peter! Come see it at CBS'15! Next weeks build is (in my opinion) the bestest sci-fi thing I've ever built so stay tuned! Enjoy! David Pew Pew Pwe!
  3. Maester Harry is an interesting chap, to say the least. Like his eldest brother Senneck, he lives in a tree, though his residence is considered a lot more humble. He has lots of healing potions, hallucinogenic substances, and 3 pet hedgehogs that practise voodoo and make strange potions from frogs. Blimmin' tree hugging avalonians... Yeah I know, I've got a thing for tree hutts :3 Special thanks to Brickthing who provided Rancor, and Eldeeem who provided the chimney bits, which I believe are non production in that shade of silver? I dunno :p Part of my contribution to a small collab at the upcoming christchurch brick show with my mates Ylia Trotter and (I think?) Chris Yee! Just a teaser, I'll post pics of the entire thing in 5 weeks after the show :) really wanted to make a wizard hat roof after seeing Luke pull one off, and this thing gave me the perfect oppertunity to do so, so this is my take :) Come see this and many other cool things at this years Christchurch Brick Show! still more to come, yes there is more castle... bigger castle... better castle *cue suspense* Enjoy! David

    Vitruvian Minifig Mosiac

If you can't see the image (it appears a few people are having issues) its here on my flickr. A study in mosaic making, SNOT, minifigure proportion, and endurance. And lots of tan cheese. based on this drawing i did when I was 12 which is based of a drawing by the dude who inspired my screen name ;) I need to get a legonardo brick in dark tan for this... Started this thing back in July 2013, which would make it my slowest build i guess... though it was scrapped for parts and put on hold because i ran outta tan (originally bley) too many times to keep track of over those 2 years, but whatever it's done now :p my first build that I don't plan to destroy! EVER o.O makes a pretty cool display item :) Come see it in person at the upcoming Christchurch Brick Show! Another 3(+) spacey builds and 2 castle mocs still to come before then! Enjoy! David -I know it's not strictly speaking a historical moc, but it's based on something kind of historical?

    Ol' Poggards Mill

After a dreadfully cute and disastrous rabbit infestation on his carrot farm, Ol' Farmer Poggard and his sons picked up what they had left and relocated to another part of the avalonian countryside, a good 20 minutes on foot, and together constructed a wheat mill. Turns out that was teh most profitable thing that could have happened to them, they actually began making an income and the success of Poggards' wheat mill was incomparable to that of his carrot farm, because let's be honest, no one likes carrots. CCCXII Medieval Husbandry The blades of the windmill turn, and the tower itself can rotate, like they do in real life. I'd like to make a motorised one of these one day for a convention... was quite a rushed build as Im off on holiday now for the rest of the year, and just got back from another holiday before christmas, which isn't building time... enough blabbing, it was rushed but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Based of this garbage. Hehe and I made an effort not to look at Cesbricks' Mill that he posted the day after i started playing around with the mill idea XP hope ye'all like it :) David out!

    Docking service vehicle

    MDSS-mk39 Satellite

McDonalds Surveillance Satellite mk. 39. Since 1997, McDonalds has actually been a world-wide surveillance station, keeping tabs on just about everyone. Luring people in with mass produced highly processed "food" and gimmicks like 24 hour free WiFi, McDonalds spys on you, hacks your devices, taps into your conversations and then uses these satellites to relay information to high paying corporations. put on you foil hats, it's the only way to stay safe! So I just got out of hospital 2 days ago, and while i still don't have the brain power to do anything productive (believe you me, after 3 weeks of this stuff I have a lot to catch up on) I decided to build something this morning :) expect to see this floating around somewhere in Christchurch above the Moonbase 42 Collab :) Enjoy! David

    Ambush at Augmar falls

The great Avalonion rivers bring prosperity to the land through trade and the vibrant wildlife that they support. Apparently they also bring in prosperity and wealth when Avalonian forestmen decide to make raids on travelling folk, particularly Kaliphlites. Everyone knows that Kaliphlites always carry gold on them. Always. CCC XII The merry band this was fun, though fairly hard to photograph due to the reflection the waterfall picked up, but came out pretty well I'd say. Inspired by Kyles' great moc, the old forest road, and wouldn't have been possible without Nick (Brickthing) randomly giving me a bag of close to a thousand trans clear tiles, haha you rock mate ;) enjoy!
  9. Knaxx, son of some other dwarf who probably has a cooler and harder to pronounce name visits statues of his forefathers in search of wisdom and guidance in troubled times. And to admire the beards of old. ChIII category A, hope you enjoy!

    Blacksmith Shop

What does every castle need? Obviously it's a blacksmith. maybe even two. Really depends on how quickly your knights are blunting their swords trying to kill make belief dragons. CCC XII - Castle Building A remake of the classic (is it classic yet?) set http://brickset.com/sets/3739-1/Blacksmith-Shop I tried to keep the character of an angular house, without making it look like its decaying, along with keeping the simple retro feel of the set. Unfortunately it doesn't open up, but I did try and replicate as many features of the house as I could. Theres some things I'd have liked to differently with more time/parts (that stone technique is parts intensive!) but as i'm heading off for about 11 days this month i figured i'm a little rushed for CCC :P One day I may rebuild it better.... maybe... Enjoy! David
  11. To most, Finbar would appear to be one of the friendliest magic folk that lives in nocturnus. Thinking about how horrid the people of nocturnus are, that really doesn't say much, but he's generally a pretty good guy. Unlike his eldest brother Senneck, Finbar has taken to using his skills in magic for commercial purposes, he sells fireworks and a mysterious explosive powder on the black market. Good money, not so great when authorities are around. Oh wait, nocty has no authorities... CCC XII Small Misc Category Enjoy!

    Admiral Horrace Snob-bot

Sailing the seven seas taking, searching for pirate scum and bringing their days of looting and pillaging to an end, recruiting them as toilet cleaners and barrel makers for his majesty the King. More barrels = more ale, and the toilets... yeah. Pirate Jigbots beware! my contribution to a speed build with Evan and Simon, as a bit of a tribute to Nicks' original jigbot(s). I'm clocking in 5 hours, a lot of that can be blamed on the fact my collection is almost entirely unsorted at the moment, but I'm not gonna be american about this ;) Enjoy! David
  13. The home of Baba Yaga. A bewitched cottage that according to legend, walks on the leg of a giant chicken, and possess many of the same characteristics of she who dwells there. Including the toe fungus. CCCXII Fairytale castle category This. Was. A. Pain. building a structure that stands on a travis brick and flexitube leg with supports that can only be placed where its hidden by the leg was possibly the most irritating thing ive ever done in lego. the second time i got it to stand, the leg collapsed on itself and the house took a roll off my desk and dived to the floor, believe you me i've had it with this build XD Besides all the frustration, im happy with how it came out, quite happy that im done with it and next time it smashes will be the final time... ok now i should really start studying, exams are kinda important :p Baba Yaga, according to Slavic folklore, was a witch of incredibly bad looks, a horrid stench, and probably toe fungus. She eats rats and taters', and dwells deep in the woods in a cottage which has often been reported to walk off in the dark... CCC XII Custom figure. Enjoy! David

    Sennecks' Reside

Senneck is the eldest of a trio of brothers who live in the enchanted forests of Avalonia. Senneck is by far the wisest, and uses magic very seldom, mostly for helping the sick, and can often be found writing at the top of his tower. The locals come to him for guidance and wisdom, as he would appear to be the most qualified person around to give it... Sooooo this has officially been the most busy week of my life. a few months ago I registered to go to the auckland brickshow this weekend, not realising that my entire years folio for graphics and painting were due TODAY. the same day I have to have an exhibit built and fly to Auckland, so it's been... hectic, lets leave it at that. Personally I am happy with the tower top, and the tree itself, but I don't think they work as well together as they could, hence i will be building another tree moc, and another tower moc in due time :p I didn't like the stonework but with the amount of time I had I just left it be. anyhow hope you enjoy it, this will be at the Auckland lego show this weekend, and once again, more upcoming mocs on the way ;) Now to pack for my flight in a few hours... "House of Chaos"

Had a blast this weekend with the NZ lego gang at the Christchurch Brick Show 2014! this was my display, winning both AFOL choice and first in show! (yay more lego! :D) also as I didn't bring my camera im stealing other peoples pictures of the moc :p Not sure how this ties in with GOH really but looks like it could be part of it? someone at the show gave it the title "house of chaos", which has stuck :p enjoy! David this is the point in the build where I ran out of bricks...

  22. Rhosgobel, home to Radagast the Brown Better and more pictures later Today the hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is released (this is or is not true depending on your location obviously). this is my favorite building that has appeared in the movie, well to be honest, any movie. I love the house, the character, everything. special thanks to legopard, for inspiring me Captain Beery & my nerd crew for providing information about accuracy and such lego junkie, Derfel Cadarn and Si-mocs for some usefull advice TLG for putting so much sand green in Helms deep And brickthing for telling me my rabbits looked horrible :p enjoy! 24. Black spire supremacy! My final entry for the CCC, for the secret hideout category, a tower in the moruth swamps of nocturnus, accomodating spies of the black spire. also for GOH chI:B Originally this was going to have a dragon on it, but i ran out of time to learn myself in the art of making dragons. oh well, next time. enjoy! before anyone asks, no this isnt the slightest bit stable

    Learning a Trade

it seams historicans are lazy and just use the same building plans for every single forge Taking a short break from OP angles after the rhosgobel MOC :) Everyone should know what this is based off.many people have made reduxes of this but no one had ever changed alot, infact for the most part all ive really done is borrow the shape, trying to cram in a bunch of things from older mocs, as well as a few new ones aswell. I'm not entirely sure how much I like it all. This build was started finished and photographed on the 23rd of December. thanks to Zcerry for giving me ~80 more dk tan tiles than i'd asked for :) Also an entry to CCC, childs life, depicting a child learning the trade of his father. enjoy
