I somehow doubt . :PI don't personally think it's a hoax; with that being said, I think that it was either a mistake that they got put on shelves this early OR they're just rolling out to certain parts of the country before others. Oh, and to add my contribution, currently nothing in southern Mississippi (big surprise).

It's a pretty interesting title, all things considered. Personally, I quite enjoy it.

I think I'm probably in the minority but I never really liked the preliminary Hau. It looked way too square from day one. I much prefer the finalized one.

So not to retread an already discussed topic, but man... the suspense for Prophecy of Heroes info is killing me. I wonder if it actually aired at all; you'd think some people would be talking about it by now.

First of all, that picture with four blurred images was confirmed fake by the initial leaker and various other people. There's no way summer sets would have leaked in July, anyway. Secondly, I could be wrong, but having been at NYCC myself I don't recall anyone mentioning anything about the amount of summer sets we're going to receive. The only word we got in regards to those was the leaked documentation, which, in hindsight, wasn't really wrong about too much. In regards to specific things: - The documentation confirmed "mini-movies," but debunked a full-length movie and/or series (at least, that's how I interpreted it). - The documentation clearly cited Merlin Mann as the writer for these mini-movies, which we now know to be true, and said that Lego was "in talks" with Greg Farshtey to write the books, but did not explicitly confirm that it would be him writing them. Based on all this, I think it's pretty accurate to assume we'll be seeing five summer sets. Here's hoping they're pretty spectacular.
  8. See, I'm really a fan of this iteration of Pohatu but I can't really place why. I'm not a huge fan of his boomerangs, and he offers little in the way of design variety... but I just really love his stature and his color scheme.
  9. That's pretty much the best way to describe this set. BIONICLE 2015 has finally, after all these years, merged functions and poseability together in a seamless combination. LoSS isn't so lucky, which is irritating, because if they had bumped up his price to $20 and replaced the technic liftarms with HF bones, perhaps this issue could have been avoided. I wonder how that would look... WITH THAT ALL BEING SAID, yeah, this set has plenty of flaws and he doesn't necessarily stand as tall as the rest of the wave (figuratively and literally). However, for some reason, I can't help but enjoy him. He has a certain charm that appeals to me, although it's probably just nostalgia for technic-based creature builds. Oh well. I'm getting him either way. Great review!

    Excellent! Hope you enjoy him. The Chima 2014 Constraction sets are fantastic and I'll still bummed that they didn't get a North America release. I ended up acquiring Panthar and Sir Fangar and I'd recommend them to anyone. I just wish the rest were easily obtainable. ;_;

I would definitely shoot for it. Fangar's pretty excellent, despite some flaws, and his pieces are top notch.

    [REVIEW]: 70779 Protector of Stone

Pretty spectacular! This dude looks like a great set in most regards, but as you said, I feel he's going to be very polarizing with people. I was a bit apprehensive about the color scheme until I got Pohatu; he won me over to it, and I feel much the same about this guy (although he has much more trans-neon green than Pohatu does). Not too sure I enjoy how far the chest armor sticks out. I think I'll do something about that.
  13. This set is indeed pretty outstanding. She's definitely one of my favorites from the wave. The thing is, I prefer to keep her built with the massive trident intact rather than on her feet, and as you noted in your review... it's pretty heavy (and also hilariously oversized). I'm also not that big of a fan of how her extra shoulder armor attaches, or how it moves with her arms when you use the fucntion. I'm going to try to rig up a system similar to Kopaka's extra armor pretty soon. Great review as well; black backdrop was an excellent choice.

Oh man, a lot of stuff to comment on here... - While the video quality of Tahu's review is a bit unfortunate, the text review, at least, came out looking fantastic. - Excellent examination of the new pieces, Aanchir! And wow, that Wairuha MoC is pretty impressive. - Finally, I admire your resolve, VBBN.

Not only are you right, but even THAT'S a stretch considering the fragile socket quality!

I think, for today, I'll retreat back to this fandom to engage in a conversation about quality rather than the Halo fandom; that place is a battleground. As it stands, I have faith that the new BIONICLE will be handled in such a way that will please new and old fans alike (in terms of both story and sets). It's obviously not going to be exactly as we remembered, and it may take a little time to find its footing, but ever since I attended the panel at NYCC I feel absolutely confident that the new BIONICLE team cares about the franchise, recognizes what made it successful, and are trying their absolute best to translate those values into its reboot. Changing the building system, though, likely wasn't an option; it was created not to be the "Hero Factory" system, but rather the standard constraction system for all lines in the forseeable future. As such, I don't fault them for using it and I commend them for their strides toward integrating elements that old BIONICLE fans will enjoy.

They're not molded in; they do indeed use the half pins. I used to question why, but after watching BZP's unboxing video it's clear they're used in the combiner.

Yeah, I definitely understand where you're coming from. Due to the uncertainty of it all we've done our best to re-route people to you guys as the best source for NYCC reporting; hopefully that works in the long run. The only thing I can possibly guess could explain our drastically different interpretation is that his dialogue with us literally opened with him saying "I don't want to say it's a reboot, because there are certainly elements that connect to the old story." In hindsight, he was likely using "connect" in the connotation that you're using it in; connections via similar concepts rather than exact objects/entities. Regardless, that probably played a big role in our interpreting his statements differently. The article where we stated the possibility of Krakua has this line of text directly above it: :P

Yeah, pretty much this; despite the possible interpretations of the Vahi statement and what we may believe to be the case, given that DV and BZP in general have spoken to so many people in regards to BIONICLE's return, they're the source I would recommend defaulting to in this particular instance. Regardless, we'll know for sure in a few months. :P Also thank you so much Tazakk.

    Bionicle 2015 Discussion

I'll say that pretty much everybody at TTV always assumed that BIONICLE would be a hard reboot and actually would prefer it that way. So we didn't exactly go in with a predetermined bias towards the contrary; it merely seemed to us that Jordan Paxton was hinting towards a connection. With that being said, your explanation certainly sounds plausible.

What's so ironic about this whole Vahi controversy is that I actually really hope this was all just a misunderstanding because I seriously wanted a hard reboot. :P

Well, it depends on what you're looking for in these sets. Having been in possession of all of these except for Tahu, I can say that literally all of them excel both as sets and as parts packs for MoCing purposes. There's not a single Toa that I don't like. Subjectively, I can tell you that my other two favorites aside from Onua are Lewa and Pohatu, but that's just personal preference. :D The more things change, the more they stay the same...

Yeah, he'll be reviewing them at a later date; Varderan is reviewing these. Also, yes, I believe it is that same shade.
