The Tribute to The Razor Crest - Released!

Well, not all of them of course but different parts, different metallic colors... But after the n1 (which was quite expensive relative to part count) I'll just throw in a few flat, metallic, pearl silver parts here and there and spray the rest. That'll be fun, actually looking forward to taking it apart and rebuilding it again. And no there aren't enough parts and sellers... the problem is usually that even for just one lot you need several sellers as they usually only have few pieces ....

@Hold0511 Yes please, some info about the spray would be nice. Also considering Revell acrylic metallic silver spray. And I don't see anybody getting upset here, as far as I remember, your version was a welcome sight for everyone :)

@Hold0511 soooooo.....now that I wanted to Update the BLO parts, I am reconsidering the the spraypainting. First i thought i'll just buy parts....but after having done that for the mando n1 i quickly went back to the painting plan :D god, these parts are expensive... can you tell me which spray you used exactly, i remember you mentioned plastikote.

Brick Vault Minifig Scale Slave 1

Finally done, what a beauty! Of all the Minifig scale models on brickvault, this is the one you just can't take your eyes off, where even after 10 minutes of staring you still find the tiniest new details. Lego at its limits :) But the building process itself, for me, was a nightmare. Question: are your wings also slightly droopy? Any chance of correcting that?

Brick Vault Minifig Scale Slave 1

@Pyroness How did you position it on its back, when you were assembling the outer round hull and the ramp next to it? Because that is my problem, using the temp stand or placing it on the table?

Brick Vault Minifig Scale Slave 1

Most difficult model I have ever built.... it's soooo fragile.... It's fun building but it is also driving me nuts :D I've built pretty much every star wars model from jerac, additionally quite a few others from brickvault, but this one at times drives me insane, like no other before :D is it just me or did others experience this as well. Just keeping the bottom together while attaching some of the exterior hull,....aaarrrgh don't know how many time I had to reattach large parts of the bottom, while balancing it in one hand. Yes the stand helps but placing it back on the bottom usually leads to its disintegration. Any tips on doing that?! it is drop dead gorgeous, and the challenge in itself is fun...but I just had to let out my frustration here :D edit: bottom=back of the ship

Brick Vault Minifig Scale Slave 1

Did anybody here build it already? I am in the process and wondering at what point one should construct the temporary stand? I Am currently on page 250 of1350. until now it is fun and surprisingly easy, guess the Hull will become more challenging eventually.

Brick Vault Minifig Scale Slave 1

Considering there are specific instructions on where to grab it when lifting (only in two areas and with both hands), and it is recommended to build a temporary stand for building the backside, and there is an additional instruction video on how to build the cockpit, i would say it is most probably a non swooshable (gorgeous) display model.

Brick Vault Minifig Scale Slave 1

In the instructions they also have a version with a black spray painted windshield, originally purple. Couldn't resist, instructions bought....

Yeah, I just realised it is the last day of pre order...taking their time.

Brick Vault Minifig Scale Slave 1

Anybody built it yet? I am still contemplating whether to buy the instructions or not. wouldn't mind scrapping the parts from the ucs set but 16% is really not much. And with the Slave 1s specific colorscheme I am not so sure how much I can get the total price down with my own lego stash...and >500€ only to replace the (also good looking) ucs....decisions decisions...

[MOC] The Return of The X-Wing

Just did the parting out from the old model and gathered the missing parts. @Jerac how on earth can a ship, that in it's essence is pretty much the same thing by the same designer have such a different part/lot inventory, most impressive! I am really looking forward to building V2 :)
  14. Finally built it! It was a fun build and is really nice to look at. Displayed next to the minifig models a bit small(ish) though, at least in the regular "parking" position. Anybody here who had a good idea about displaying it standing a lot more angled?! I mean, in a diving manner, so that the top of the ship is more forward facing? Guess it is not that easy, as it is quite a heavy model. Thanks TGBDZ, that was fun!

The Tribute to The Razor Crest - Released!

Hey hold, Thank you, I was a bit lazy to search for your post, thank you for the input! This simply is mind boggling... how long did it take you? I guess I'll start off by first replacing some gray parts with tan, dark red, sand blue etc. and then after coming back to your photos and eventually not being able to resist I will start thinking about this crazy undertaking :D
