The Tribute to The Razor Crest - Released!

Hey hold, Thank you, I was a bit lazy to search for your post, thank you for the input! This simply is mind boggling... how long did it take you? I guess I'll start off by first replacing some gray parts with tan, dark red, sand blue etc. and then after coming back to your photos and eventually not being able to resist I will start thinking about this crazy undertaking :D

The Tribute to The Razor Crest - Released!

Out of curiosity, with what and how did you spray the parts? Every single one?! I am almost done building mine, but maybe at some point in the future I might consider (re)doing that. I'd love to hear how you went on about it. Saw the one silver/chrome/spray version here in this thread and it looks stunning.
  3. Hey, thank you for getting back. Yes, indeed I did go through them and realized exactly what you just said, most of the parts are visible, therefore I gave up being picky and just went according to the inventory list. I might end up with about 50% of the parts from my own collection and 50% ordering. looking forward to building this model, it'll take some time though still have several others waiting to be build :)

The Tribute to The Razor Crest - Released!

The one from the official lego Razor Crest Set
  5. Hi, this MOC looks really nice! the brickvault minifig scale model (though I only build minifig scale models) is just too large for my budget, space and relationship status :D therefore your model @TGBDZseems like the perfect compromise :) Have a question though: is there any way to distinguish or figure out the pieces that can be of any color (the non visible ones), except for the obvious way of going step by step through the instructions? Maybe a hint "steps 1-300 are interior only" would already be helpful. I want to sort through my stash and then order the remaining parts. Also, the guys that already built it, any other tips on reducing the costs? @TGBDZ

    SFS TIE/x1 Advanced

Hi lenzie, the Tie Advanced build was superb :) It was so much fun and there were quite a few build steps which just made you smile and wonder how jerac came up with these. Your tip from the review regarding the attachment of the side panels was helpful, as it also worked a lot better for me this way around instead of the suggested way in the instructions. Regarding the other builds: I was quite fortunate to purchase around 25 kg of lose lego bricks from a family whose kids (thought) they were too old for lego now, loads of lbg, dbg, white and black pieces. With this stash I was able to collect (over the course of about half a year) roughly 60-90% of the pieces required for the following models (mostly jerac/brickvault builds) : tie adv, tie fighter, tie Interceptor, tie first order, tie bomber, a-wing, y-wing, x-wing, jedi interceptors red/yellow, snowspeeder and the razor crest. the rest cam from bricklink and lego. Having the May off this year I was already able to build the a-wing (the building step for the round side panels and cone shaped pieces at the side was awesome!!!) such a fun build! this weekend finished the y-wing. the details are stunning, somehow you have the feeling that the greebling is arranged in three layers. the angles and techniques on the cockpit are fun as well. Next up, i think, will be the razor crest, before the new job starts in June :) @jerac thank you for these fun experiences! I love when you get to a step in the instructions and cannot stop smiling and wondering how on earth this is possible. p.s. the brickvault snowspeeder is also a lot of fun. though the two front panels drove me nuts :D

    SFS TIE/x1 Advanced

@lenzie Great quality and review, thanks for that, subscribed right away. Got all pieces collected already, the tie adv is waiting to be build since several weeks. this video makes me wanna start immediately haha Saw that you have good tips on the x wing as well, that'll be the next collection project, hopefully helpful to save money while ordering pieces i don't own. for jeracs y wing the last missing pieces are currently being processed by lego B&P and the razor crest stuff is in the mail. I am a bit of a sucker for jeracs models haha :)))

The Tribute to The Razor Crest - Released!

Don't know about that, just know that it is available as a plugin for browsers. There is also a choice where one can pick an affiliate (designer and/or distributor of tool) when you filling your shopping cart and importing it to the lego website. they will get a tiny % from lego (not more expensive for oneself), so you actually support the designer (not me) as well, which is always nice.

The Tribute to The Razor Crest - Released!

Happy to help, this is the best tool for putting together a MOC shopping list. It is not entirely self explanatory as you have to start with bricklink and the XML first. The instructions i used were in German though, hope that there are English ones as well. Have fun collecting for this amazing model.

The Tribute to The Razor Crest - Released!

Brickhunter plugin for chrome, is a life saver in this project! Does it all automatically with B&P PaB and BL
  12. Thank you very much! The pictures were already quite self explanatory but that description is very helpful in order to get it right :)
  13. this looks awesome, any chance getting some basic instructions, or should I just follow the mentioned instructions on reddit. yours seems a bit more refined, maybe just some info on your specific changes? by instructions I really just mean a description here in text, of course not proper instructions
