So they can design proper width rims... Why the hell didn't they do this for the McLaren MP4/4 and simply used the already available threaded tires for a rain look?
-
No doubt classic, like all the cars in the Icon series. Seeing how they butchered the MP4/4 tires i highly doubt perfection in that department.
-
Can anyone confirm that the McLaren rims fit in the 15413 tires?
-
I think i'm going to go the route of a hackjob with original LEGO parts. Get 2x 56904 and 2x 15413 and glue them together, i'll see later how i fill the hallow area of the 56904 tires. Could be as simple as rolling up some black paper.

I think these are currently the best looking, but i find them far too realistic looking on a LEGO model. LEGO ICONS Senna F1 Mclaren Mp4/4 Goodyear Replacement Wheels & Tires - Etsy Netherlands

This set no doubt is going to have a lot of mods, so much is wrong with it.
-
I was thinking something like this to fix the tires. Sure they ain't slicks, but Senna was a king in the rain :D
-
Seems the tire size is actually based on 49.5 x 20 so perhaps double it up with the 49.5 x 14 and then single 49.5 x 20 in the front.
-
First looks arn't very positive, mainly due to the aweful rear tires. Hopefully the tires are 15413, then they can be doubled up for the rear and single in front as rain tires look.
-
Had the set up for sale at first, but i got another idea instead. Now it lives on as a Doka and stays in my collection =] The Doka build is from Rebrickable and i added a bunch of mods from my own.
-
Last good Ideas set was the Caterham, but that's just me cuz i like cars.
-
Pulled the plug and decided to go through with the MOC from Rebrickable, and it's well worth it. LEGO MOC 10248 Ferrari F40 MOD by NKubate | Rebrickable - Build with LEGO I also applied some mods of my own by lowering the suspension by roughly a plate thickness, with an illegal mod really as i had to glue those extra pieces in order for it to be structural sound. And the rims in the front are less deep, just like the real car.
-
Hopefully those tires also fit on the recently released pickup truck.
-
Ordered printed pieces from Steindrucker because of the TERRIBLE Lego stickers, look at the difference.

Yeh, they're really really bad. I wish they had made them transparent.
