VW Camper 10220 - modding ideas

Sorry to bump this ancient thread, but i had to share this. I made these modifications over a year ago, but never made pictures. Gave the VW Camper American style bumpers in a chroom look, feels like this how it was suppost to look, but the big curved peices on the front where never available in grey until a year or 2 ago.
  2. Is there another way to get digital instructions for the new 10295 set? The app doesn't work and only shows a white screen with a LEGO logo.

    LEGO Instructions App alternative?

Looks like LEGO is ditching black backed background thankfully! LEGO to ditch the black backgrounds in instruction manuals | Brickset: LEGO set guide and database

10295 Creator Expert Porsche 911 Discussion

Build my Turbo today, took me about 4 hours. What a fantastic model it is, best one so far from the Creator Expert line. The color white is perfect as well in combination with the interior. And for the first time in my life i missed a part, pretty sizeable one too. Black 1x6 smooth tile for the rear spoiler. Had a bunch of my own so no big deal.

10295 Creator Expert Porsche 911 Discussion

I think the Turbo looks better overall. Targa rear window looks weird with all those broken up pieces.

10295 Creator Expert Porsche 911 Discussion

I have no more room in my display cabinet damn it ! Maybe i need to find a spot outside of it for the 1989 Batmobile, as it takes up an entire level which can house 2 creator cars.

    DC Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

Seems the new wave of 1989 Batmobiles come with 3x 2x6 Tiles for the canopy instead of the 6x6 plate.

    REVIEW | 10274 Ghostbusters Ecto-1

Quality of LEGO is declining. Lot's of pieces these days not fit nicely and cause seams.

    More LEGO Ghostbusters in 2020?

I don't mind stickers, but i hope they are stickers so we can make a choice to have a classic Ecto-1.

    More LEGO Ghostbusters in 2020?

Man, the Ecto-1 looks amazing, can't wait to build it. Looks like it's already in stock, which means it will come out this year? Can't really tell what the length says, but looks like it says 47CM, which seems about right judging the wheels they used.

    LEGO Ideas Discussion

I doubt we'll ever see another car roll out of the Ideas garage beside the Caterham. Atleast i'm saving loads of money as i pass on both winning sets.

LEGO Creator 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

Oh man, this is some awesome news! $200 means atleast a 40CM long model if they scale it around the 15413 tires. If they use the 30699 tires then it's comparable to the London Bus in scale. The Ford Mustang is $130, so i'm hoping they scale it around the larger tires.

LEGO Ideas. Caswell Point Turned down.

Lego Ideas... more like Lego Space. It started off pretty good with the first 10 or so sets, which actually looked like the idea that was send in. They change it up way too much nowadays.
  14. Yeah, that's not too hot looking, very stubby.
  15. Can't find it, guess it will be revealed soon anyways.

That's actually good, i seriously hate hoarders.
  17. After more than 20 years being a shipwreck in storage bins she's finally restored into her full glory! The white and grey pieces had a hydrogenperoxide bath for roughly 6 hours, including the printed pieces. The sails are in great condition as they had been stored in between the manual at the bottom of a pile of other manuals. Funny how i found this harder to build than a modern set, because they don't tell you which pieces you need, and you basically have to compare the previous image for differences ^^

    [RESTORED] LEGO 6286 - Skull's Eye Schooner

She's looking for a display case, but sadly enough i can't find a size, as she measures 66cm x 23cm x 49cm My current display cabinet has room on top, but it's limited to 76cm x 37cm, and i don't want the display case on top to overhang. doesn't have anything i'm looking for. They either have a really large one 78cm x 26x x 52cm, which will overhang on the side If i mod a little hoever and remove the rowing boat and lower the highest flag, i can get the size down to 63cm x 23cm x 46.5cm, which means can work. It's a shame they don't offer something like 70cm x 26cm x 52cm.

Cheers! I guess then they only have for it. Which would overhang by 2 cm on the front on my current display cabinet...dang it :(

Does anyone have measurements (in centimeters) of the actual ship build, because it looks really tall and i want to see if has a case for it.
  21. Does anyone know the dimensions of the actual ship build.

    Your First Pirate Set!

Mine was either the Shipwreck 6296 or Eldorado 6276. Still own them both, but scattered across multiple boxes with parts. I did find some pieces related to them the past days, as i been getting the Skulls Eye Schooner together, which i got back in the 90s when we were on a holiday elsewhere in the country with the entire family.
  23. Been getting the pieces together for Shooner and Wild West sets, been great zoning out and forgetting what's happening outside my walls.

    Resurrecting the Black Skull

Been in the process of resurrecting her myself, found all the parts except one of the Blue Laterns, which i had to order on Bricklink. Found that some pirates had cracked arms and torso pieces, but i was lucky the Black Skull wasn't my only pirate set, so i had some duplicates to replace them with. Next step is to wash all pieces and giving the White and Grey pieces a peroxide treatment. Also ordered a salad spinner to get rid of most water before letting them dry naturally. Lucky my sales are in great condition, as i had them stored between the manual underneat a truckload of other manuals, so they're super flat. (On another note, i also found all my Wild West (Cowboy Tag on Bricklink) sets from 1996. Seems i own all of them except the small 6790 polybag. They're in GREAT condition still, just need a wash as well) I got Eldorado Fortress as well, which i may restore as well, but i noticed i need some more replacement parts for that, nothing that's not available today though.
  25. I would like this for nostalgia reasons, but i have no space for it. Instead i tumbled over my boxes of Lego to build 6286 again, which has been in pieces for over 20 years, and once rebuild i have no space for xD
