[MOC] Police Station 10278 - Mini Modular

Thank you! Your mini looks quiet nice, as you could include the dark tan accents. As I want to build my models with bricks, there are a few limitations regarding available bricks and collision rules. The side stud of 4070 earling brick does in Studio not collide next to normal bricks (as the LDraw file seems not correct), in real you have to place a brick with hole next to the 4070 side stud to avoid stressed elements. Unfortunatelly the 1x1 plate with holder above the left diamond also didn't collide in Studio... At building the mini these two parts are stressed very strong, so I had to fix this. Updated this to an inverted 1x1 round plate, now the holder fits pretty nice into the hollow stud. Additional made a small fix at the inner structure to hold the right SNOT side of the 1st floor better in place. And I had to change a plate underneath the vertical support structure of the soap sign into a tile, as the LEGO molding on top of a solid stud increases its height by 0,14mm...... results into slightly stressed structure.... Jamie Berard - "Stressing The Elements" io file and instruction are updated already to V2.

Just found an interesting picture regarding spare parts of 10278 at promobricks.de So if you're already owning the police station, you can safe a few bucks by using these spare parts for the mini modular. Primarily the new half circle tiles are included too. These spare parts will safe a few lots with single bricks.

[MOC] Police Station 10278 - Mini Modular

I got most of the special parts including the new 35399 tiles. Unfortunately Lego PAB has not yet shipped my ~350 bricks order. So a picture of a real mini will take some more time.... Thank you all for your kind words! @LEGO Instructions For You It's an honor that you choose my minis to be the first MOC instructions at your YT channel. Feel free to put them online. My instructions are free to share.

[MOC] Police Station 10278 - Mini Modular

Final design: Made some small changes at the inner structure and changed the bench in front of the donut shop, as 4865/4865b in reddish brown is quiet expensive. Fun fact: buying the set 8201 with 2 included wall elements 1x2x1 in reddish brown is sometimes cheaper than buying 1 single 4865/4865b part in bricklink (depends on location of the buyer/seller)..... 385 parts: Studio file and PDF building instruction: 10278 Police Station Mini Modular - Bricksafe Happy new year and happy building the mini police! Hope you enjoy There are a few rare/high priced parts: # 11402h (hammer in dark azure): You can buy the complete set 11402 or a single hammer 11402h. To reduce cost, you can replace the hammer and headlight brick by 1 additional transparent brick 35382. # 49668 (plate 1x1 with tooth in dark orange) used as awning of the newspaper stand is quiet expensive, as it is unique in 41596 (brickhead beast). A cheaper option might be a common 1x1 plate 3024 in dark orange or the plate with tooth in flame yellowish orange. # 35399 (flat tile 1x1 1/2 circle in reddish brown and nougat) used as awning of the donut shop is a new coloured part, first released at 10278 police station. So it will take a few weeks until this part will be for sale at the shops. Lego PAB already list these parts, but currently not available... Nougat seems to be a re-used rare color since many years, so I can't recommend an alternative nougat-coloured part until 35399 will be available. Maybe you can use a medium nougat tile temporarily. no, of course this is an azure-blue bird... ...that only looks like a hammer after the shrink
  7. Preview of my 10278 police station mini modular. 8x8 base plate. 380!!! parts. Number of parts increased once again 25% compared to last year. Height fits my other Lego mini modulars. Stability of all parts was checked positive. Contains two parts, which will be first time released in the modular 10278 in new colours (24246 tile, modified, 1x1 half circle). I'm still optimizing parts/cost usage and working at the PDF instructions. Also have to build the real version to identify issues, so there might be small changes to the final mini. Expected final release mid January. I'll add this informations at my bricksafe page: 10278 Police Station Mini Modular - Bricksafe

Final version. Made some small changes at the bookshop upper facade. And the last 3 mini modulars together: Happy xmas, happy building, enjoy! LDD files (ATTANTION! [MOC] Bookshop 10270 - Mini Modular

This year I had the time to build the (digital) mini version much earlier than the last ones. So this is my mini version of the 2020 Modular Building "10270 Bookshop". Both houses are build on a 4x8 base plate, so you can split them like the original. 301 parts (birch version). Height fits other Lego mini modulars. Stability of all parts was checked positive. Bricklink with all parts (condition new) is approx. 40-45€. There are a few parts, which are quite expensive like the plate 1x1 round in earth blue or the orange one with hole at the chimney. I'm still optimizing the parts/cost usage. The upper bookshop facade looks a little bit angular. First I tried to use the part 56619 (batman handcuffs), but this part is only available in black color. Also the variety of parts for the red roof is limited. So I designed an alternative which is a near match to the original Modular, hopefully. As the birch is an significant part of the bookshop, I've also made a version which includes the tree. LDD/Stud.io files will follow as soon as I've build and check a version of real bricks. Enjoy the preview:

[MOC] Corner Garage 10264 - Mini Modular

Thank you for the kind words! Stud.io render some colors slightly dull & dark. I had this problem also at the teal color of the Diner which I made end of 2018. Unfortunately I'm not a good photographer, too :-P https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/168416-moc-downtown-diner-10260-mini-modular/
  12. Mini modular version of the latest Modular Building "Corner Garage". 8x8 base plate. Fully buildable with 327 parts. Height fits the other Lego mini modulars. Lego PAB is approx. 50-70€. Stability of all parts was checked positive. The gas station roof is the only component, which connects to the base plate using a single stud. So this part is a little bit fragile. As at my last mini modular, I've tried to contain as much details and proportions as possible into the mini version. Unfortunately 45° angled parts are quite complicated at this scale, so that my expected result is not as detailed as i wished it should be. So I would call it a solid design. I've tried a lot of different brick combinations, but most of them are too coarse for the mini scale or didn't allow to connect the next bricks properly. There are a few high priced parts included, like the sand blue 1x2 plates (6198156) or dark orange parts (especially 1x2 plate with slide (4616022)). Also there is an old part included, as this is important for the structure/stability: part 3935 (Wing 4x4/45° right). These parts will result in a higher price than my last mini modular. Without these parts the design wouldn't look like it does. LDD file for free. Happy building, recoloring, modifying and so on https://bricksafe.com/files/shell.shock/moc-corner-garage-mini-modular/moc_cg_mini.lxf Attention: LDD file is missing three 36841 pieces (2x dark orange, 1x medium stone grey), as they are not available in LDD. I have inlcuded 3 parts of the 36840 1x2 plate in the LDD file, so they should remind you not to forget ordering these missing parts. Also LDD still uses old element/design ID numbers such like the 1x1x2/3 roof tiles or trans clear parts. Newer parts are available and much more cost-effective. Please check brickset parts database.

[MOC] Downtown Diner 10260 - Mini Modular

Thank you. I've built Oscars Mini Modulars in the past: A very very small update regarding the DD mini: Replaced the last visible stud on top of the arch by a flat tile 1x1 (6213782). Currently still a rare brick. Meanwhile I'm trying to shrink the corner garage by a hot wash :-)

Pictures of the final DD mini modular. Especially teal and purple are slightly dull at rendered images.
