I was searching the web for news articles on LEGO and came across a cool blog at http://www.brickbending.com The techniques and examples are so cool I had to give it a try. Here's what I made. It contains 300 1x2's of various colors. I figured it would fall apart the first time I tried to move it but it's surprisingly stable. I was able to pick it up, hold it, and even roll it around and it still hasn't shattered back into 300 pieces. I've seen something similar done alternating 1x2's and round 1x1. Anyone else tried this with any success? The website has a alot of other cool examples of what this guy has done with this technique. ~LCM

A friend of this posted it to my facebook wall today and I thought I would share here as I have never seen one before. I even looked thru Gary's CD and didn't find anything like it.

In the interview with the Designers they have stated that Friends is going to be a continuing line. Now that we know that is their plan should friend have it's own forum, a sub forum in city or another forum, or stay as a part of city. I am just curious. Myself, I would like to see it a sub-forum in city. While I enjoy looking at the Friends designs, It really seems to clutter the city forum when I am looking for city themed ideas. I also see the positives in giving Friends it's own Stand Alone Forum. It would be easily found place for specifically Friends related topics and builds and make it easier for new people who join specifically for friends related topics. ~LCM

Some small changes to my Beverage Store. It now has a name. Hinc's Beverage. Named in honor of the Amazing Hinckley. Only one change coming. Need the new style blacksmith Hammer for over the door. Come to Hinc's and get Hammered! I've removed the paperstand out front as it looked to cluttered. Overhead Shot Commentw, Questions, and Suggestions always welcomed. Brick On! ~LCM

Say Goodbye to one of my first buildings I made for my city. The propriator of Lightning Hardware and I sat down and talked. He found a really nice piece of property and has decided to build a new store. Updates Later today. Goodbye Lightning Hardware!

Amazing, so much beauty packed in there. Loving the style of it all.

Behing the counter we see a display of tools available, the paint center, and a welding set. You can also get a toilet or a refrigerator at Lightning Hardware. A wide selection of small tools, garbage cans, and even dynamite! Drawers full of screws, nails, and drill bits. A drill press, and some saws inside the front door. and out front the smiling owner Sean with a display of new mowers that just came in.

Use a Technic pin or a Technic beam, usually works for me.

I want to reiterate my thanks to the Staff at Eurobricks for allowing me to do this. Maybe in a few months we'll do something like this again with another theme.

Only thing I can see missing is the Life Guard Bouy from the CMF. Kinda surprised with a coast guard theme we aren't seeing that peice used.

The 1st and 2nd Place voting were so tight in fact, after 3 times of hand counting with different results I finally broke down and made a spreadsheet. Only 2 votes were disqualified (for editing). ~LCM

The roof is on and one last piece is being moved onto the property from the old store.

The Walls are Finished. Now to put a roof on it and start moving in. Of course there is landscaping to be done in the front as well.

The front walls go up rather quickly.

The Cement team was very quick to pour the foundation. The owner Sean and the Foreman discuss plans for the store out front while the crew in the back smoothes out the pad.
