    Razor Crest 1:150...ish

Here is my Razor Crest. Built to the same scale as all my other ships so it's nice to be able to put them side by side. The landing gear retracts but isn't clean. Both side ramps and the rear ramp lower with a hollow cargo deck. She's also quite sturdy as I went for a flat plate solution to the upper section. I don't usually model ships, I design my own and now I know why because this thing was so awkward. Everything I did to get one bit looking better ruined something else nearby and I ended up going round in circles. I'm probably happiest with the engines and least happy with not getting a smooth slope down either side in front of the pylons.
  2. Please forgive the shameless self-promotion. You may remember the novel-like prose of my entries. Playing AG gave me a chance to write and to learn. My characters (some of them) were ported in from a story I was working on before I joined AG. Unsurprisingly, it was also inspired by 90's multi-faction lego space and so there was a degree of overlap that made it easy to do that. As I played AG, however, my characters and story both evolved - my main character was a brunette until she became a minifigure for AG - now I can't imagine her without that distinctive red hair. After AG, some of my new characters and ideas ported back into my story too and finally (I know, it's taken a while), my first full novel is finished. Some of my AG chapters adapted straight into the early portion of the book; I first used the phrase 'Boxrunner' in my AG work. The book is at 'second draft' stage. It isn't published and I am seeking some beta readers who are willing to sit down and give it a proper read and then offer some feedback. I think it would be right to open that to the AG community who gave me such encouragement when the game was running. It's available in ePub format if you have Apple Books or some other suitable reader. If you would like to read it (and really will give it a good go), please message me and we will make arrangements. So a thank you to everyone who played this game. I learnt so much (and had fun) and my characters than I love and have invested so much time in would not be who they are without having been to Andromeda first. And as you would expect, a lot of the spaceships in the book have designed with Lego. : ) And yes... Yseult still has an attitude problem, ; )

Thank you. The stickers are just bleed from official sticker sheets cut off and sized as needed.

    AG - Introduction and Discussion

These are awesome. I remember that first go you had with Long and the difference only shows how far you've come.

    [MOC] Tomytronic 3-D

One of the coolest-looking handheld LCD games from my childhood, the Tomytronic 3-D. Mine was Sky Attack, the dark red one. A Tron-like tank game shooting recognisers overhead. The buttons would probably have been better as side-on plates but I was building for a challenge so time was pressing. Really pleased with how I got the overall shape though and the viewfinder eyeholes.

    [MOC] MR2400 Horizon

You read it correctly. I find these kind of builds all the more impressive for that very reason.

    [MOC] Red Walker

Be careful crossing the snow plains. Red Walkers prowl the tracks and prey on the weak.

    [MOC] Approach/Landing Pad 1

Built at roughly 1/150 or 'Trophy figure scale', the 34x34 section contains an octagonal landing/approach pad. There are two taxiway exits, against which you can place additional sections to expand the build. The techniques used to create the octagon are the same as those used in my Blacktron Landing pad, as are the methods for the edging and corner shrouds to hide the gap. I was uncertain what colours to do the ground with. I was going to do green but thought that would mean 'Earth' and didn't fancy Lunar grey so went with a mottled sand. Maybe Titan. The centre section can accommodate other numbers, I've tested 1-4.

    [MOC] MR2400 Horizon

Potentially, one of the more ridiculous things I've seen done with LEGO but all so beautifully executed. The ship is wonderful in its own right. Exceptional work.

    [MOC] Approach/Landing Pad 1

New section: Landing zones. The numbers and latter float so they can easily be removed and replaced as required. The 'G' is for general so you might use 'C' for cargo or 'R' for restricted, however you please.

    [MOC] Red Walker

Wouldn't have been out of place in AG... Though I would have had to follow it up with a MANTIS version twice the size! ; ) Thanks. Those feet are horribly delicate though and fell off so many times.

    MOC: Hologram from Home

This is beautifully built and presented.

    [MOC] Approach/Landing Pad 1

I've finished a second 34x34 section. This one is a Taxiway T-junction... I may be running out of small tan/dark tan pieces.

    [MOC] Approach/Landing Pad 1

Hangars maybe. I try to build in retractable landing gear to my micro-ships now. No wheels... They'll just have to hover.
  15. This is my custom body for the fun tracked RC racer set. It's based (loosely) on the 41999 Limited Edition Crawler. I've added lights and swapped the motors to L motors. The body is attached at the same points as the regular version and flips up the same for access.

... Discovered this whilst sat a home during lockdown because of a virus that came out of China... Not cool.

    [MOC] Approach/Landing Pad 1

Thanks. That's why with this one, the plan is for the ship to taxi from the pad to a landing zone where the facilities would be. More like a real airport, I suppose. The idea is for 34x34 sections that can be put together to form a spaceport. Other sections (if I get to them) will be taxiways, landing zones and maybe eventually a terminal with a tower. But there will be a least one more pad.

  19. I love this. The visual aesthetic and the scenery took me right back and reminded my of how I got drawn in all those years ago. Instantly showed this to my 8-year-old who agreed it looks awesome. Those were the days.

    [MOC] Blacktron De-Phaser

Finally got a plain background thing done for everyone that proved how well the design worked by not being able to make out the (to scale) 15 metre tall exo-suit.

    [MOC] Blacktron De-Phaser

A few tweaks, a backdrop and a name change and it's done. I'm enjoying my take on the old enemy. I'd like to do a ship or vehicle, just dread the thought of how many little black claws I'm going to need to get After building my Rectifier, a Blacktron answer to Perter Reid's pesky Turtles, I suppose it was inevitable I'd do an Exo-Suit too. Chest cage is probably my favourite bit with some mad greebles going on, loads of new parts all getting used for their structural arrangement... But I also loved using the Elves curved elements on the legs, and the blaster rifles on the shoulders... best NPU here is the bananas though. Yellow bananas in, I like to think, a good non-banana role... ... Never looking at a Banana the same. Thanks for looking.

    AG2 Prologue

I think it's a fair point that with all the coding involved, there's a lot of stuff for AG that kind of lies on Bob's shoulders. I don't know if anyone else has the knowledge to continue that work without him. But it's also a fair point to say that if AG is now shelved indefinitely, the best thing to do is just say it. I don't think any-one doubts Bob's desire to do AG2 but life gets in all of our ways... frequently in my experience and if point number one is true... Then AG has had its day. At least then anyone who keeps building and telling stories knows the basis upon which they do.
  24. Chapter 28: Blinding Light She is lying down... the air is cool. She hears a rustling sound, a pitter-patter. It’s raining. I’m getting wet. The smell of rain on stone, her breath is short, she is tired. There is another sound... crying. The pressure of hands upon her chest. The taste of iron in her mouth. A creature kneels over her, tall, etherial. It leans towards her. “You must find Upsilon” it whispers, its lips unmoving. “You must not lie down.” Why can I hear you? “You must not lie down.” it repeated. I failed. Her reply came as a thought but she could not make the words. “You have not yet begun.” the voice whispered a reply within her mind. I don’t understand... “You must not lie down.” The creature reached out, placing it’s hands on Yseult’s chest. From it’s eyes, a blinding light, pierced with red... growing brighter, hotter. A hum behind it, whirring, faster. Suddenly, a blinding light... The smell of burnt hair and scorched metal filled the air as the laser skewed away from Yseult’s face, narrowly missing her ear. Around the black creature’s tail was a black metal hand which raised the creature aloft, writhing and screeching in panic. Another large black metallic hand encompassed the creature’s body and a moment later, they were separate, pulled into two with relative ease by the dark behemoth that was Yseult’s saviour. The laser, now discarded, smoked upon the hangar deck and as the dismembered creature writhed, desperate to escape the dark clutches of whatever had it. It would not writhe for long though as the free hand of its captor now reached for its head and with a short jolt, the creature became limp. Discarded to the hangar floor, its lifeless body landing with a deadening clank, Yseult was finally able to take in the thing that had come to her rescue... It was huge, mighty, a plethora of black bone and spikes... It had four legs, two huge arms and from its back, two larger versions of the smaller creature’s laser... Its chest was a maze of black metal work that was difficult for the eye to make out and above that, a head... Similar to the creature’s but with larger horns, the two were clearly kin. It looked down at Ysuelt with its piercing, merciless single yellow eye. Repositioning itself, it crouched, lowering the torso as much as it could and with a whirr, the cage that formed the chest opened up. Ellie was dwarfed by the monstrous exo-suit that surrounded her. She was breathing heavily, adrenaline in her veins, beads of sweat on her brow... relief in her eyes. For a moment, she just breathed. The carefully stepped out of the frame and climbed down, cautiously looking for foot-holes in the dark skeletal bodywork. Yesult was already standing by the time she got down and had stepped towards her. The two just stared at each other until finally, Ellie’s arms reached out and vigorously embraced Yseult who, after a moment of feeling somewhat out of her comfort zone, more casually did the same. She could feel Ellie’s heat pounding. The rush she thought. Ellie wasn’t used to it, she was an engineer, not a soldier. The emotions racing through her were obvious - panic, courage, fear, relief... all rolled into one hectic mess of adrenaline. Fuel for the soul. But Ellie was a different person, not used to this... That may have to change. Ellie released the embrace and Yseult followed suit without hesitation and instantly felt a little more at ease. Ellie was breathing deeply, regaining control, bringing herself back down. Her hands on her stomach, like she was stopping herself form being sick. “Okay?” Yseult asked. She didn’t know what else to say. Ellie nodded, her eyes closed, slowly, she was regaining her composure. “Don’t.” she finally said... “Touch... Anything...” There was a short awkward pause before Yseult found she couldn’t stop her cheeks tightening and a cheeky smile growing on her face... it was contagious and as soon as she noticed it on Ellie too, it only became harder to suppress... They both burst into short laughter, Ellie putting her hand to her face in embarrassment. They looked at each a moment, unsure what the right thing to say next was. Yseult pointed up at the exo-suit... “Can I have a go?” she asked, a wry cheeky smile on her face. Ellie couldn’t help it and laughed again.
