I was tempted to say the orange was just the red mixing with the gold, but you're right it does look distinctly bright orange.

A joke at other fans' expense. It's still the site forcing me to say something I don't agree with, and symptomatic of a general problem with adult Lego fans to be of somewhat elitist attitude to whatever doesn't fit their personal tastes. You say the filter reflects a "fact" when not only is that fact not provable, but probably isn't even that true when you factor in the fans that don't post on boards.Lego or Mega Bloks, It's all just plastic at the end of the day. Why spoil it for others? Certainly doesn't make me want to be more active in a community that uses others as the butt of it's jokes. I am, at least. I am also pretty excited over the trans-purple claw-pieces and other useful bits. I'm usually only interested in system sets for pieces like these that I can use in Bionicle, so having these in Bionicle sets to start and a lot more common is pretty much a dream come true for MOCing. I still think they're trans-purple, and it's just the photoshopping/touchups that washed out the colour, but I would not be at all against them being trans-clear for versatility reasons.

(spelled wrong because that's the best way to seem smart when insulting something) I'm sure there's other cute auto-corrections it does.Though really, it's the attitude of adult Lego fans in general. Eurobricks is just an example. I'm sure the other sites you posted are just as unfriendly to whatever doesn't fit their preferences. I think your sketches are fine. I'll be interested to see how close your predictions are.

The irony is that you're saying this on a site that enforces it's own opinion over others in a crude way, delibertaign putting down those who share an opposite viewpoint. Built right into the posting system no less. I don't know, but it's been nagging me, too. Though I agree with the above now that I think of it, it's probably just a holder for stud ammo, since none of the other Toa ahve it, but Umarak has some sort of stud holder.

Kopaka's is not centered, either. I think it's just for variety. Each mask does something different with the runes that lead up to the Nuva symbol. That, too. Not the worst thing ever, just something of note that I my try and change.I'd actually not mind a unified eye colour if it was a completely different colour than before, like real yellow or... pink? But yeah I think the oddity comes from how some of the Toa have unchanged eyes while others do not. It has everything to do with what was being discussed. Poeple were discussing visual gender stereotypes, he was saying that there's no need to adhere to those stereotypes. Though I agree, it's been talked to death and doesn't need to be repeated here of all places, but his comment wasn't out of place at all. How quaint.I love how frighteningly inconsistent the Bionicle fanbase is. First, CCBS was ruining what used to be a technic-based line, now technic is ruining CCBS by makign the sets look more like OG Bionicle sets. You really can't make up your minds at all. Seems like people hate/like whatever's convenient so that they can complain about something, I guess.

I think the only thing I don't like about these sets that I can't easily fix is the fact that the Toa seem to all have blue eyes. I prefer some level of variety, even if it's just two different colours. Not the end of the world, though.

PoF/Narmoto is the one I've modded the least, actually. I gave him longer arms and turned his tonfa things into just a double-ended sword. Otherwise I liked him. I mean, they're pretty different since they have totally different torsos, and look to have unique limb builds. But the are very similar, which is why I'm treating them as power-ups instead of full on new bodies.

I'm modding every single one of these new sets, even the ones I like. (which is most of them, TBF) I'll be modding the Toa to resemble powered-up versions of their 2015 selves, I'll be modding Umarak to be a bit bulkier, and I'll be modding all the critters into different things because I'll likely be stealing some of their parts for the Toa. Modding and being creative is the best part of Bionicle. Especially now that we have more technic integration, there's more parts I can use.

I just went through this entire thread and I have to say, you are amazing! This is beyond incredible work, and I really have to compliment you on not being afraid to modify or paint Lego pieces where you have to, depsite the weird stigma around do so. (it's just plastic, and easily replaced) Your design is incredibly complex and yet so intelligent. Well done! -
Whoa, and now all of a sudden the gearbox is "dreadful?" It's like as soon as the year coems to a close eveyrthign in it has just become total shite for no reason.Lego fans, man.

I agree, I like the set version more. It also feels less... blatantly evil. Iike it's still mean-looking, but Makuta wasn't always a horrible guy according to the story. It feels like it could be the mask of a neutral dude as well as a villain. Plus, it feels more like the MoCr's contemporary with the addition of the cheek protrusions. I really like it, and I'll definitely be getting extra sets to try and make a "Protector" Makuta. No kidding. When I first saw these pictures, I thought "man this'll make some folks on Eurobricks happy for sure" and then NOPE. "Old sets were too simplified!" "New sets are too detailed!"

Same. I love the technic aesthetic, I mean, that is Bionicle. The only thing I don't like is how they all use the same weapon, but that's not an issue of the parts aesthetic. And the limbs made of technic is awesome.

Because the finality and quality of this teaser and the old 2015 retailer display mockups are totally identical. :/Also, the Ignika was never the G2 logo. The "Ignika" as we saw it was a placholder mask with a vague imprint of the Mata Nui robot symbol in it. This is literally the Mata Nui island in it's exact form and detail (blacked out of course) used on what is clearly finished, high-quality promotional artwork. I don't believe personally that it is Mata Nui, or if it is that it is connected to G1, but you can't mock people for seeing a connection that is quite plainly there. As well as parallel dimensions, bad guys becoming good guys, good guys becoming bad guys, secret societies, secret islands, ancient spirits, all-powerful alien creators, etc.The main story wasn't complicated, but Bionicle wasn't just the main story. -
Oh man I am ready for these sets. Granted they look pretty sweet as-is, but I can't wait to tweak them to my liking.

Kopaka's upper arms are so very technic. I'm only worried that he may have limited articulation. But they really seem like they want to go more OG Bionicle.

The added technic, all new torsos, and positively badass technic-techno detailing has me pretty excited. I love Tahu. Though I can see myself tweaking these a lot, mostly colours for the CCBS armour.

CCBS, Bionicle, system and Ben-10. You'd think so many different subsets would make for a visually clashing design, but it's super streamlined and reserved. Amazing.
