I might as well give my thoughts now that most of the sets have been revealed. I really like most of these, the only one I'm thinking of passing on right now is the Blade Cycle and Snowmobile set. Spinners haven't really been an interest of mine recently, but I may get the Lloyd and Garmadon one just to try them out. Samurai Mech: Very cute redesign, I would love to see more mechs done at this scale. Minifigs are great aswell, although I wish the skeleton boot piece could have been used for Kruncha and Nuckal. Golden Dragon: As someone who hates the old 2 piece heads, I think that the new head is a good improvement as it feels to scale with the rest of the dragon, which looks decent. The minifigs are the stand outs here. I've always liked the designs of the stone warriors and the new Overlord figure is fantastic. Storm Fighter: I never bought the original, and this looks like a big step up. It is a lot more substantial in my opinion. Earth Driller: Similar to the storm fighter, I think that the new driller has much more substance to it than the original, and it's great to finally get the giant stone warrior. (Interesting that they put Kozu on the box for the 'featured in season 2' logo, but he doesn't appear in either season 2 set). Monastery: Good to see that this version actually looks like how it does in the show, a pretty good set overall. (I wonder if the chicken is some sort of reference to The Master short?) Ultra Dragon: Looks a bit messy on the box, but looking more closely I think it's definitely still an improvement over the original. I don't really mind that some of the figures are repeats of other sets. An interesting wave overall, since it is becoming apparent that these sets aren't tied to the current story (well, at least not directly), I wonder if we could see more legacy sets in the future, especially since theses are only based off the first two seasons. I could see one or two legacy sets released along side the sets of future waves, for instance. That being said, I'm curious a to when we will get sets for the TV movie, since it is being released in the first half of the year, and the second half of the year sets will probably be season 10.

Considering the scale of the character, I think the best option would be (as others have said) to give Reinhardt a nexo knights style mech suit; or at least use the battle suit body piece as the core of the build. I never liked the idea of him being an axl-fig because it would make him way to small (especially if they ever make a big-fig Roadhog) in comparison to other characters.

I would say that for me, most of the essential characters have already been teased. That includes Tracer, Winston, Reinhardt and Soldier 76 for the 'good' characters. For villains, we already know about Widowmaker, but I would also expect Reaper to show up in the first wave, being (I think) the most prominent villainous character.

This isn't one of the six January sets for next year, which will most likely include the minifigures that have already been teased.

I think I might as well chime in to this topic now that the first set has been revealed. I recently got into Overwatch shortly after the initial announcement for the Lego sets and have been having a great time playing the game, having never cared for FPS games before. Although, I must admit, I'd rather see the sets based around the story over the gameplay itself. As for the Bastion set, I quite like it. If anything, it should have used a sticker on a grey 1x1 tile for the front of the head to approximate the eye slot, but the rest of the model looks fairly accurate for the scale. It is also worth noting that there is a gap of about 10 set numbers between the largest set of the six in the January wave and this Bastion set, so I wonder if we will see more sets for other heroes at this scale, possibly all as Blizzard exclusives?

As long as it is able to connect to Ninjago City and Ninjago City Docks, I'll be happy.

Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
JasonEffex replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
I don't think I have commented in this topic before, but I'd just like to say that the new Sandman minifigure looks amazing. Great reuse of the Nexo Knights Rogul leg piece, never thought we'd see it used outside of that theme. -
The new designs look decent, perhaps a little simplistic, but I do like how they seem to combine design elements from the DX and rebooted suits. I'm not really a fan of Nya's colours going back to dark red since it's not one that is associated with water. Hopefully it's just for this one wave, since I'm pretty sure that these sets will have no relevance to the current story, and they switch back to gunmetal for subsequent releases.

I suspect Penkid is right. This concept art for the show shows the mech being about three minifigures or so tall (about 11cm). Pixal's mech from this year is a little taller, being 4 minifigs (just over 15cm) tall, up to the top of her helmet. 150 pieces would make the new mech smaller than Pixal's mech (around 200 pieces) so it may well end up being a show accurate size.

Wherever it was from, does that mean that there is no icemobile set at all or might it have a different set number?

Wasn't 70665 supposed to be Zane's Icemobile according to Brickseek?

Thoughts and observations on the leaks: Nya is absent from the spinners again, and is also the only one of the six main ninja to not get a vehicle or dragon this wave, which I find disappointing. Overall, I think that the choices of sets for the wave is decent on the whole, but I could do with fewer ninja vehicles. I look forward to seeing how the originals can be improved upon using modern pieces though. Fire Temple is the only set from the pilots, but is thankfully the biggest. I hope they are able to make a new Samukai minifig this time around (my original has unfortunately not aged well and much of the print has worn away over time). Four sets from the Serpentine season, perhaps each one will include a couple of sepentine from a single tribe so all four tribes would get representation in the wave (Pythor should be thrown in there somewhere for good measure too). Still disappointed by the apparent lack of more Season 9 sets, since there was a number of things that appeared in the season that haven't made it into sets yet. Since it appears that these re-releases don't tie into the current story, I wonder when the sets for the special event and the following 2019 season will be released. Is there a possibility of more than the usual two waves of sets being released this year? That's a cool idea, I'm imagining a smaller mech built using mixel joints instead of the larger ball joints. I hope they continue to make Ninjago modulars under the regular Ninjago line from now on. A set every two years or so would be brilliant (I doubt they'd be able to manage one per year).

Since the set numbers start with "41", I believe that means that this will be a minidoll theme, and therefore the replacement for Elves (since it seems unlikely that it will continue into 2019). As for what "AL" stands for, could it just be "Action License" or something like that?

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread

Incorrect. Tommy Andreasen clarified on twitter that the 4 episodes have a combined runtime of 88 minutes, which makes each one the usual 22 mins. He has also said that he doesn't consider this special event a season. As for the rest of next years content, to make it to six hours, there must have to be at least 13 more episodes. I think that the most likely scenario is that the next season will be longer than the usual ten episodes.- 4591 replies

This actually sounds quite plausible. I think that it is also worth mentioning that neither Chima or Nexo Knights launched in the same year as the release of a Lego movie. It could be Lego's intention to make sure the launch of a new theme isn't overshadowed not only by Ninjago, but also by the Lego Movie 2 by putting the next Ninjago season and accompanying sets on hold until the second half of the year. Regarding this rumor as a whole, I believe that if the Ninjago designers want to make the most of this opportunity, they would not just revamp some old sets, but also incorporate some vehicles and locations from earlier seasons that didn't appear as sets such as those other two Stone Warrior vehicles or the Overlord dragon. I think that Lego has gotten better at keeping things under wraps recently. I think the first we could hear about such a theme is from a leak of a retailer catalog. Last year, the 2018 1st half catalog leaked out at the end of August so it may not be too long until we hear something.

The rumor of re-releases sounds a bit dubious to me, the only way I see it working is if the sets are updated and modernised. I also don't see the logic in releasing more dragon sets after the three dragons that were part of the Hunted wave, since all those sets will still be on store shelves by the time January rolls around. It doesn't make sense to have so many similar products all available at once.

Checked Lego's image cache today and all of the new sets have been added. I also tried other set numbers to see if there were indeed any more sets that we hadn't seen yet. Alas, there aren't. I for one am both surprised and disappointed. Since Ninjago has consistently gotten 3 retail exclusive sets every summer, I was expecting there would be more to this wave, especially considering the other vehicles and dragons seen in the season 9 trailer. On the whole, I think that this wave is kind of bland. The individual sets are mostly good, but as a completed wave, it feels as though there isn't really enough of anything compared to how previous waves have been. Most disappointing for me is that I think that the missing things from the trailer could be covered in just two sets. I hope that the plethora of small spinner sets this year isn't the reason why Lego couldn't manage one or two more actual boxed sets. Speaking of which, do we know what happened to the Nya Dragon Master set?

A very good trailer indeed. I do wonder if there are any more retailer exclusive sets for the summer wave since there seems to be a good few things in the trailer that we haven't seen in sets yet. Not only is there an ice dragon, but a white and gold dragon (presumably for Wu) as well. Also in the trailer are another land-based Dragon Hunter vehicle and some sort of tank most likely piloted by Nya.

Although it's nice to get the belt piece in a new colour, I don't think it goes with the rest of the outfit, so I'll probably leave it off when I get the set. Another adjustment I would make is to give her a mask. I think a black half mask should work fine, got plenty of those spare. Other than that, the figure looks good, happy to see Skylor return. Another tid-bit of news. The description for the Ninjago City Docks lists some of the minifigures included; along with Lloyd and Garmadon, Dareth and Mystake are also in the set. Dareth's Dojo and Mystake's tea shop are said to be part of the build as well.

Lloyd and Nya will also be in the set if nothing has been changed from what we see in the preliminary image from the catalog. So while it's not a set with all female characters, 4/5 is still a sizable milestone in my opinion.

Zane has also leaked, and he too looks very good. He has an interesting combination of his quiver and the Mr. E armour piece which go together surprisingly well.

I think that might be incorrect, as you can find Lego on the floor plan for the fair. Besides, it would be odd for them not to show sets at an event like toy fair.- 3965 replies
