Jurgen's Lil Devil up on Ebay
dolittle replied to Meatman's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi, Just do this: 1) Open the item on ebay 2) Locate the "Report Item" 3) In there select Copyright infringement (they are most careful with those) 4) Then select counterfeit/replica 5) In the reference box you will be shown, paste a link to this forum With enough of these eBay is bound to notice With my rating of over 500 (positive feedback), they are bound to at least give it a look :) If enough do it as well, it would steer enough to get the bid to at least suspended mode -
It is easy to spot fakes, do like so: http://www.google.com/imghp Click on the picture link (it is at the right corner of the search field) Put the URL of the image, for example: http://cache.lego.com/upload/Gallery16E7ACC4-674B-4FF1-B23C-AA3232300010/8c8940b2-d179-412f-8bd3-8bc7e49a4c5d.jpg And you will find your original :D

Hi, I saw it first on NatGo, but you can also find it on YouTube, it is a very interesting view into LEGO's factory, building process. Not strictly Technic, but still quite interesting to watch. Look for: "megafactories lego part X of 5" By HatStacks (I won't provide a link as it might be considered illegal to see as it is a NatGo show on YouTube :) )

Hi, Am I the only guy that gets frustrated by seeing such models? Not that I blame the builders, it is more that movies always look great and pictures too, but posting them and providing little information on the mechanisms makes me always wonder if it is just a good looking design or whether it really works... I always see those models where the designer added some sort of building pictures so that others can learn of what he did and evaluate its quality not just by "moving pictures" but rather by actually trying to recreate it. Just my two cents (rants). Thanks, Noam

Most valuable technic set.
dolittle replied to davidmull's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi, For me valuable isn't just price oriented, I am not sure if this was the question here.. It is what you get with the set. The harder to find parts and more expensive parts make for a more valuable set. For example the 8043 makes a great set - you get 4 motors ( 4 * 7.5$ ) , 2 IR receivers ( 2 * 15$ ) and 2 IR trans (2 * 9.5$ ) - I believe only these items would cost you 79$ while the whole set costs 200$ - so this is a great price for the parts received - making it very valuable. Thanks, Noam -
Quick poll about instructions
dolittle replied to mahjqa's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi, I paid before 5-10 euros (depending on the instruction and model type), I have done this before as a donation/booster to the guy making the instructions rather then seeing it as a "purchase". (I would also "expect" a part list that can I import into basebrick, or any other site to confirm and find out which parts I lack) -
LEGO Flight SImulator

That is really cute, too bad it didn't get through to the votes, it is original! -
Filled the survey, if you could publish the results publicly it would be great.

Hi, Have you guys noticed that the name of the "brand" is exploiter, which in simple terms really explains what this company is all about? Thanks, Noam -

Hi, I am trying to view the vectorracer.lxf provided in this forum under LDD, but it fails to show all the parts which is annoying. I decided to try and get LDView to show, but LDView doesn't natively support LXF, you need to convert it. Looking through the forum, people are mentioning LDD2LDrawAddOn, but that program isn't working, it isn't converting anything when I try to use it - no idea why - I can paste the log file, but it is pretty much useless log file. Anyone with an idea how I can properly look at the vectorracer.lxf file and see all the parts? Thanks, Noam

Announcing Enchanting
dolittle replied to Clinton B's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi, Very nice project, was is the target age? I think 10-12 years old won't like it so much as it is too story like and less "programing". Yes kids love to think/believe they are programming the robot. I think that the target age of 6-8 would be best, as at that age they love to make up stories, and your program looks like the perfect way for them to tell the robot "a story". Thanks, Noam
