How many pieces do you have?

I would guess I have several million pieces. Don't have any clue really. Hell, I lost count of my minifig collection once I started topping 40,000 of them.

    To add backpacks or not?

The new Imperial Guards have printing on their backs. So do you still add a backpack to them or not? Previously I had not because they do have printing on the back and I did not want to cover it up. But now they look out of place next to my older Imperial Guards that do have backpacks and I'm beginning to think they look better with the backpack. Can an admin turn this into a poll?

You boys moderate these forums too much...

While the OP's case may not be the best example, I agree with his opinion. Some forums are severely over-moderated. For example, there may be five posts a day in a given forum, yet a mod will feel the need to lock threads because it's not something he is interested in. Well, that explains why there's so few posts in that forum when you have mods actively discouraging conversation. That means that there will be less traffic to eurobricks as there's not much going on. I'd rather have the freedom to choose what threads I want to read, than have people act essentially as censors.
  5. I tried weighing my Scorpion knights which I had handy. I've got 1,133 of the same minifig, helmet and sword in a plastic case. It came out to 10 lbs. including the case. So your estimate is surprisingly accurate. However, that lot on ebay wasn't pure minifigs and minifig parts. There seemed to be a fair number of pieces in there. I'd guess there were approximately 1,000-1,300 full minifigs in there. Also there are a lot of cheap minifigs in there. I'd guess you could end up selling each for about $1.50-$2 on average when everything is said and done.

    Mini knights helmet

PAB lists a new part: the "mini knights helmet." There's no pic yet, but being an optimist, I hope that it's the new great helm! Anyone know what it could be? BTW, the part is in metallic dark grey.

    Mini knights helmet

Has Lego ever released this helmet in metallic dark gray before?
  9. Under accessories, they now list a part called "butt" for $0.17. Now I'm curious as to what that is.
  10. Yeah, I can't believe they are getting rid of it. I've ordered 2,500 of that head and know that Lego has run out of them on occassion so I'm a bit surprised that they say that it didn't sell well.
  11. I've got the opposite problem: more money than time. So I find army building to be quite fun. Plus, whenever someone asks me a bunch of questions about my Lego collection, I could tell them I have the largest private minifig collection in the world. In the end, you should just collect/use Lego in a way that make you most happy regardless of what other people say.

    Vladek's Dark Fortress - 5 years on

I bought 63 copies of this set on clearance. I remember how giddy happy I was. It had been a LONG time since I found a clearance sale that good. I remember of much of a pain it was to drive them home and the weeks it took to sort. I remember people did not much care for the set due to the brightly colored knights. Man, it's been 5 years since then. I feel older now.

    Post Your Castle Army Here!

That is awesome! Do you have any close up shots? Is that one person's collection or several?

    What did you buy today?

I bought 700 of these from various BL shops:
  15. I opened up an PAB order from Shop at Home from last year recently. Normally I never bothered counting the pieces, but on that order I had two different torsos at 200 pieces each. One of them was MUCH smaller than the other, so I counted it and found only 122 torsos instead of the 200. I checked my packing slip and it does show 200 torsos were supposed to be there. Has this happened to anyone else?
  16. USA! USA! USA! No, but seriously, you European guys have it way better in terms of Bricklink. All the big, cheap sellers seem to be in Europe. I ordered close to $4000 on Bricklink last month and only $60 was to an American shop.

    Review: 6045 Ninja Surprise

I remember that the consenus on this set when it was released that it was pretty medicore and it ended up being one of those sets that languished on shelves. Funny how time can change peoples' perception.
  18. Last week I spent an obscene amount to get more white ninjas! Right now I'm up to 15 white ninjas and 11 forest babes, but with this set the sky's the limit!

Red Coat Army (577 and counting)

Hey, you're getting close to the size of my redcoat army. I blame Lego for that. I placed an order for 500 redcoats and they cancelled it saying they did not have that many sets in stock. I think they ended up shipping what they had which amounted to about 120 redcoats.

    Bring Back Lego Ninja!

I doubt we will see it any time soon. One of the reasons why I have quite likely the world's largest ninja collection is because of how poorly it sold the first time. It was discounted for months before they could get rid of everything. I've still got CASES of sets that I haven't opened yet.

    What I got for Christmas!

I got two of the same thing. One assembled in China: One assembled in Finland:

What DIDN'T you get for christmas?

Save this quote and read it again in about 15 years.

What did you buy this year?

I bought somewhere along the lines of 2,500 sets +/- a couple hundred sets this year. And another $10,000 or so for parts from BL and ebay. I try not to think about it too much as it would probably horrify me and make me question my sanity.

    Car Talk

One of the main reasons why only super expensive cars have suicide doors is because it makes it easier for the chauffeur to exit and open the door for the passenger. Unless you plan on hiring a driver, adding suicide doors on a Chrysler is, frankly, lame. On a related note:
  25. Over 35,000 minifigs. I guess that puts me in the quantity category.
