Aanchir Posted December 31, 2009 Hello, everyone! I'm here to showcase an MOC series called "Dr. Inferno's Getaway" which was on display at Brickfair this year, but which I've never put online. It's meant to seem like an actual set, so it consists of three MOCs: two Agents vehicles and an Inferno vehicle. First, Dr. Inferno's getaway car: -- Any car driven by Break Jaw has to have shark fins. And that's more than just a fancy grille in the first pic. Check out how the hood opens: - That's a blunt shooter, folks. More on that in a minute. First, trunk detail. The trunk opens and has a clip to hold one of Break Jaw's torpedo launchers in case it comes to a confrontation. Plenty of cargo space left, especially if the torpedo launcher is removed. - Yup. Plenty of room... (Apologies for playing to stereotypes here: I'd have just as soon used one of the dudes but I don't think Fuse's "scared" face is quite as sympathetic-looking.) While we're in the back, let's take another look at how that blunt shooter works. Pull the exhaust pipe like so... WHAM! Here's a bottom view that kind of shows the mechanism: Now let's flip back up to the top. The second and third images below show how the top comes off. Too clunky to work as a highway convertible, but it sure beats disassembling the vehicle to get the minifigs out. -- Note that while I mostly used click-joints, the place where it separates combines a click-joint and a minifig tool-clip, so it joins in the right spot but readily opens. Tonight or tomorrow, I'll post Part Two of this MOC, and you'll see how the Agents plan to take down this beast of a machine. In the meantime, comments and criticisms are welcomed! Darth Legolas Posted December 31, 2009 I simply love it! The very first picture reminds me of a real car! But opening trunk and hood, with a blunt shooter! This is real Lego set quality! The details are great, and the Dr. Inferno symbol on the trunk is perfectly placed! It reminds of the Batmobile, for obvious reasons! Welcome to Eurobricks! Inconspicuous Posted December 31, 2009 This is an absolutely incredible MOC! So many details are packed in to the little thing, from the blunt missile, to the trunk and opening roof. I really love the jaws at the front. I'm looking forward to the rest of the set.
Grimmy Posted December 31, 2009 Wow this is a really nice car! I like how you used those technic pieces that people often use for steering, on the grill! I especially love how it fits 4 yes FOUR minifigs! I rare site in Lego cars which often makes me sad that most Lego cars are 1 seaters. I notice that they made that big 2 seater carrage piece to fix that but still never a 4 seater around. The girl in the trunk was funny because of the expression it went so well. We have the Gold Tooth's set unopened. We might put it together today. I noticed that you have room to seat one more and the gold baby t-rex is missing. Might want to put him in there lol
brickzone Posted December 31, 2009 (edited) Wow - this is a neat little MOC. The "jaws" of the bonnet are just classic over-the-top Agents style! The incorporation of the missile shooter is artfully done and a great play feature. It encourages me to try and incorporate one into my own MOCs. All in all a perfect Agents MOC. Indeed it's so awesome I'm tempted to try to put together my own one for my Agents collection - I currently only have the Lego sets for the baddies (I've only MOCs for the Agents thus far). I agree four-seaters are difficult. I only really managed this one because of how oversized Agents vehicles usually are. I've tried for many years to make one in six-wide and still have trouble. Corvus Posted January 1, 2010 Neat! A great getaway vehicle, and very Agents-esque. My favorite bit is the teeth grill.
