MOC: Good Night Emerald Night

The derelict, rusted boiler of the Emerald Night locomotive taking its' last journey to feel the final sting of the scrapper's torch.

Built for Tim's Mini Challenge #1: Weathering.

Hmm...I'm thinking that I prefer it in dark green and gold.

Great job, very nice idea. It made me feel sad though to look to my window sill and see the Emerald Night looking so mighty and powerful then looking at your rusty version. Nice SNOT use.

Interesting idea. This would be the way I can include the emerald in my collection

The real one does not fit in my "modern" collection.

Very nice how you just use a basic wagon and added it on there.

the emarald night fits with "modern" collections, it can be a preserved steam locomotive thats been fitted to main line safty regulations(many have been)

Thanks to everyone for the replies. Believe me, as a steam engine fan it was painful to build this MOC, but at the same time I have to recognize it is a logical and very real step in the lifespan of most steam engines. I'm tempted to turn this into a sort of maxi-vignette, put it on a 16x32 green baseplate and add some grass, flowers, and maybe another piece of derelict machinery.
