I picked the Cannon battle as my favorite set.

I've picked up 2 already, but i'll need another 30 to get all cannons i'd need for the constitution. :pir-look:

The last set i'll probably get (if i even get all of the new pirate sets) will be Brickbeard's Bounty.

There's no way i'm spending $100 for a set with just under 600 pieces. :pir-sceptic:

I'd much rather get the Medieval Marketplace for $100. More bricks, better bricks, more figs, and better built.

Mine has to be Soldiers Fort, Although I don't own it since Ive been working on my ship, But the Soldiers Arsenal and Cannon Battle are the best ones I own.

But my overall favourite Pirate "set" this year has to the the 6789 HMS Unicorn. Its a brilliant set :pir-grin:

I think the soldiers fort would be the best set because of the soldiers and the design. It sort of reminds me of half of the imperial trading post but it looks a bit better than the ground half. Cannon battle would be the best small set because of the cheap price and you get a soldier and pirate with accessories and a :cannon: .And of course soldiers arsenal would be the best little set because of the accessories. :pir-classic:

Brickbeard's Bounty got me into the Pirates line, so that gets my vote, but my favorite minifig is the shipwrecked pirate from loot island

I'm also eagerly anticipating an add-on to the fort :pir-classic:

I voted:

Soldiers Fort

Soldiers Fort

Cannon Battle

Pirate Impulse

If I could I would have voted for the Soldiers fort in every category :pir-grin:

It really is the best, it has a little bit of everything

All of the 2009 pirate sets have been really good and I really need to buy some more :shark:

It's soldiers fort for me!

I like the nice buildings, and the details are great.

It is also not stuffed full of all sorts of things.

I'd say the Soldier's Fort because if you buy alot of them you can put them all together to make one big fort!

If you also count 2010 I would pick the Imperial Flagship.

I wasn't sure if the flagship was included.

Cannon battle: 2 awesome minifigs and a metallic cannon :pir-wub:

That's combines pretty much all that is good in the new pirates line.

On the other hand, I think many sets are really lacking compared to the classic ones.

I recently bough a Brickbeard's Bounty (because it was cheaper) and although I knew about some constructive flaws previously, I was heavily disappointed!

The parts, minifigs and colourscheme might be nice, but everything else is simply awful!

It falls aprt quite easily, esspecially the rudder (which is solely because a inverted 3x1 slope was used there); the rigging is unstable and looks silly.

It also seems incomplete without a deck (I know Rick has added one  ), esspecially at the f'castle.

Put it next to a BSB or a SES ( I own both) and its really looking poorly designed and crappy.

Just my thoughts on this topic.
