Traykar the swift Posted March 15 (edited) Wasn't fond of the small minifigure or technic rovers released this year so I wanted to build my own. Made it just in time for march, the month where everyone is building space rovers. Honestly didn't know if I should've posted this here or in the lego town theme. The top detaches to become a small Cargo tug that should be compatible with the modules seen in the big rover, the space base, and the space station sets. Nothing else can plug into the rover body though. Edited March 15 by Traykar the swift
Lyichir Posted March 15 Another really cool space MOC! You can definitely tell it was inspired by those Technic sets, but you've done a great job converting it into a fully enclosed, full-featured rover. Love the way the cockpit separates, and the way those batteries are enclosed!

Love the way the cockpit separates, and the way those batteries are enclosed! That's the thing! There's a lot of great parts and ideas in the sets. The new color of canopies, the grey rubber tires, the white and orange colors. I just kinda feel like a lot of the designs could just be better. The technic sets are cool, but kind of gappy, and I don't really get the extending design for the mars crew exploration rover. At the same time, some of the city sets like the two rovers just feel a bit unpolished imo. Nothing I can do but build mocs.
