Can someone give me a short summary for the proposal of the next contest?

As far as I understand, mix of

This and

This.

Build A and B model under 150~200 parts. Need a part photo or some other way to know how much part used.

A weight limit seems a lot easier to me.

Yeah, I think we converged to that as well, and about 300g seems to be a good limit.

One questions we had is whether tires should be counted into the weight in order not to penalize cars too much against builds that don't have wheels.

I'd say weight is weight. Using wheels is your own decision

But I am happy to exclude wheels if you all feel like that's better.

We'll still need to have a piece list because of the B model I guess.

Another question was about "expensive pieces" like pull-back motors, linear actuators and pneumatic

This would be very cool. 250 g without tires would fullfill most of the plans I guess :-)

Would be too heavy I think, better without any such pieces...

Yeah, would be better.

I had a look at TC9 A+B rules. No piece list was required, so maybe there is no need for this after all... I also noticed that TC9 was pretty close to what we are heading for. I don't have a problem with that, I wasn't here at the time.

Rules don't have to be complicated, just explicit enough. There will always be questions about any possible interpretation.

Having just a weight limit is fine, having a B-model or not should be a requirement I think

Just build one or two things that weighes 250gr or less, simple as that.

If there's only weight limit, then what's the contest really about? I think the B model requirement makes it more interesting, that's where we started from, no?

I don't think there's a need for requiring a part list. For such small builds, it should mostly be possible to see on the photos that parts of the B model are also in the A model. If something is not visible, it's possible to ask where it is, or even request more photos that make certain parts visible.

How about this, to keep it simple?

"Build a winter themed Technic MOC weighing not more than X grams."

This is the 30th contest so TC30 300 grams "sounds" good...

I have lookup up some weights and 300 grams is really light.

This set (well, the entire box) was just shy of 500 grams. This is of course including booklet etc.

Maybe we can up the ante a bit and go for 500 grams max! This allows for slightly larger builds, but nothing out of the ordinary. Can someone tell me what a small-ish moc weighs?

The 42167 Garbage Truck weighs nearly 400 g, the 42139 ATV about 630 g. Don't have any other official models in that scale right now.

Great, that's very useful. Thanks!

So 500 grams is quite a reasonable weight. Or do we think it's too much?

I am with @JoKo with 300 g. Original, we had models in mind with about 150...250 pieces. The 500 g would be models with 500+ pieces. The 42167 for example has 503 pieces.

The idea of making something small was originally with the idea of making A+B model, which is not a thing anymore. Also with the hope that it would help with having more entries.

TBH I would be more comfortable with 500g to play with, but if smaller means more entries I am willing to do with less
