Example of the issue (and a hacked fix): I found this video a while ago about the billy bookcases. I haven't tried it yet, but intent to try it in the future. Quote
westracing01 Posted February 13 Posted February 13 (edited) The only thing I didn't like about the Tudor Corner was the senseless second chimney. Other than that, really nice set. One of my favorites actually. Edited February 13 by westracing01 Quote
thomol Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Read somewhere (maybe in this thread) that fake chimneys were used at the time since multiple chimneys were a sign of wealth and status. Quote

I haven't tried it yet, but intent to try it in the future. I currently store my modular in the Billy book cases. Interesting work-around but too permanent for my taste. As my modular grow, I was swapping around and given some are much taller than others, that required me to relocate the shelves to different slots. Wouldn't look good having a random slot half way up a shelf. For mine, I simply built the case with a couple of washers sliiiiightly separating the vertical sides from the top and bottom. Sure, there's a gap a bit bigger between where the doors meet but only a little bit. I simply ran a line of celotape down it then used a sharp knife to slice it so it acts as a dust barrier (as I do on all my cabinets that display lego to reduce dust ingress). It honestly works much nicer than cutting lines in my opinion. I can't remember how to post images but if anyone wants to see, I can find out and get them up. Edited February 23 by Roflusmaxmus Quote
Yoggington Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Another way to beat Billy Bookcases modular width issue: (make it a height issue instead) Quote
Brick900 Posted March 15 Posted March 15 (edited) Anyone notice there was no vehicle GWP with the Tudor Corner, as compared to other recent years? Obviously, there is nothing wrong with switching the style of GWP. Edited March 16 by Brick900 Quote
Lionbear8 Posted March 18 Posted March 18 question guys the new sushi restaurant via Brinklink. is it Modular and connects to the line? Quote

Lion King Posted March 18 Posted March 18 I always want to get a Japanese restaurant for modular buildings collection…. I think we had flower cart GWP for the collection some years ago? Quote

But the BDP Sushi restaurant can probably be easily modified to be modular. 16 hours ago, Lionbear8 said: question guys the new sushi restaurant via Brinklink. is it Modular and connects to the line? I think it will only be a matter of time when someone makes a MOC to it is modular compatible. But since Lego has a say in the final design, it would be interesting how they steer the designer away from a modular compatible final design. This already comes with a vehicle so no GWP needed with this. LOL! Quote
Lion King Posted March 22 Posted March 22 I saw another big Ninjago City set - Workshop. And it seems it has 4 floors. I still wish that modular building will have four floors one day… Quote
Roebuck Posted March 28 Posted March 28 The next modular will have this flower pot and the new pigeon part, calling it now Quote

Lion King Posted March 30 Posted March 30 I’m so glad we will get pigeons! Since Natural History Museum already has doves, i can replace them with new pigeons! I will order 150 pigeons off PAB. Quote

More or less, doves are usually smaller species than pigeons but they are in the same family. Unless there is a American langue thing like calling the foal a pony 5 hours ago, RichardGoring said: Pigeons are like rats. Doves are like rats with a good PR team. I am unsure which species should be offended by people calling pigeons flying rats I am sure rats are smarter, but they have a very bad reputation. Personally I think pigeons are very interesting and I never get tired of watching them fly around Quote

The OG for the feral pigeon population are called ‘rock doves’ and live on coastal cliffs. That they have adapted so well for cities & towns is pretty remarkable. Makes them more resourceful than things like puffins & gannets for sure. Rats are also super smart, resilient & adaptable. It’s interesting that lots of humans have disdain for creatures that they have helped to spread and colonise the planet, and which do so well in their shadow. Quote
RichardGoring Posted March 31 Posted March 31 I jest, sorry, but it is a perception. Personally, I don't give a thought to pigeons and don't care about them either way. Had no idea about their origins - fascinating. Rats on the other hand are great, and I love them. Mice too. Just a shame about disease in cities. I've been tempted to get a pet rat for a long time. Yeah, had to look the set up, to see what was meant, because a dove/pigeon mould in that set is something I thought I would remember. I would just see them as birds there. Quote

I do understand that dove and pigeon are interchangeable depending on what we see, I’m still happy about a new pigeon mold! Quote

Lion King Posted April 9 Posted April 9 I kee wishing for 0.5-baseplate modular building sets…. So that would be more affordable and fun to get every year while waiting for a full-baseplate modular building in winter. Lego, lease take note! Like… daycare, clinic, ramen/sushi restaurant, apartment, movie video store, seafood restaurant, seance, run-down & haunted townhouse, travel agency’s office, post office, tea shop, ghost hunter’s HQ (hehe), Johnny Thunder’s HQ, etc. Quote

But I think many people would be disappointed because the pricing might not be what they expect... There are efficiencies, like packaging and shipping, in selling a larger set with 3,000 pieces in one box rather than 2 that have 1,500 pieces. Also, buildings half the size would typically require more pieces than just half a usual Modular since you can't typically have an open side. More pieces would be needed to close it up. The only way I could see it working is if TLG either sells a design that is smaller than half a normal Modular at half the price, or sells something that is about the same as half (or larger) for more than half the price of an existing Modular. Honestly, I would be interested (not necessarily committed) to either, but I don't know how well received the larger community would be. Quote
