The leakers usually get the shape and general details well. As for what's inside, it's up to their understanding of it and maybe how others translate their leaks. The Tudor Corner certainly left them guessing wildly for months, and they never disclosed the haberdashery shop. Ngl though, as fun as getting a clocktower is (although there's already on top of the Town Hall), what's inside the other buildings sounds way too mundane for a 20th anniversary set. The deli is redundant with Green Grocer. I guess the hardware store follows a trend of crafts shops (tailor, haberdashery, clockmaker, carpenter) which I find nice, but I can't see that as celebratory in any way. Hopefully the clocktower is as tall as Town Hall's to make it a nice centerpiece for a row of modulars. And I really hope the leakers got the deli wrong and it turns out to be a small post office. 835 Posted Friday at 08:25 AM Posted Friday at 08:25 AM This sounds a LOT like a description of the BrickAtive modular "Old Town Pub" (even the colors match ~90%). Interestingly, every mentioning of this MOC is gone from their own website as well as from rebrickable. Could still find it on their flickr account though: This MOC has been realized (illegally, afaik) from a different brand. The pub/exhibition on the right hand side might fit the hardware store, the abandoned building on the left might be a tight fit for any type of business though. Quote

I mean, obviously, it’s 20th anniveary set. Assembly Square and Boutique Hotel have references to the preivous modular buildings. I am sure Clock Tower has some cool references to the previous modular buildings in fun ways. Don’t get me but I’m happy I get a clock tower since I don’t place Town Hall. I will reserve my judgement until there are more leaks or offical images on Clock Tower. And I hope it still has a deli. Quote

Agreed! A deli sounds like a fun idea! I hope they have Jamie Berard make this one, one last hurrah if you will. The charm of his modulars has never been replicated as well, and it's been 10 years! An anniversary set isn't just about the references to past sets, they're also milestones for the collection. The 3 previous ones were groundbreaking in their own ways (height, width, angled walls technique). And thematically, they were imposing too. I can see the clocktower ticking that last box, but not the buildings surrounding it. That's why I called the hardware store and deli a bit too mundane for an anniversary set. Quote

I would prefer a deli and hardware store much more than a hat store and clock workshop in my opinion. Really killed my interest in the last two. Quote

Well I don’t agree wiht you on hardware store and deli as “mundane” for 20th anniveary set. They could have some references to previous modualr buildings like deli for Green Grocer and Cafe Corner while hardware store for Shopping Street, Tudor Corner, And others. I am sure Clock Tower nods to Town Hall. The annivearry set is also about width, height and unique shape as we got Town Hall (height), Assmelby Square (tidied) and Boutique Hotel (unique shape). Porbalby Clock Tower might be taller than Town Hall? Who knows…. We know the next Modualr Muslims won’t’ be wide because of 32x32 baseplate. It’s really interesting that Shopping Street is a set mix of Assmelby Square and Boutique Hotel but no direct reference to Town Hall as a cooking itself but only the crest on marching band’s hats. If you think hardware store and alto are too “mundane”, why Assmelby square included dentist’s office, music shop, etc, tho? They are also mundane. Yet they are fileld with Easter eggs. Quote
Lion King Posted Friday at 04:04 PM Posted Friday at 04:04 PM I want to add my thoughts about the next midfield building. I’m slighlty disapproved that the price tag will be $250. But I’m glad it won’t be a 1.5 modualr buidling or we have to buy it at $300. Boyyyyyy Hotel was the first set to have price tag increased to $230 in 2022. Fast-forwarding to 2026, Shopping Street is the first set to have ptrice tag marked $250. I get that there is chaos around the world right now, such as gas price roaring, wartime economy, supply shortage, etc. Quote

When I read that it was a 32x32 again I was a bit disappointed because the Museum retires this year and there won't be a 48x32 modular available after that. I was hoping since it was the 20th anniversary that it would be grand and something groundbreaking. We needs pictures. Quote
PatrickLisse Posted Friday at 04:27 PM Posted Friday at 04:27 PM (edited) I was hoping for a 2 baseplate building for the 20th anniversary, or a very big cool building with lots of parts. O well it is still all rumors...... And i read about pricing here, but whe only get 1 building a year. And for the 20th ann i would spend more for it :) Some are bying 1000$ sets. That is astonishingly close, and I wonder if this is what's been seen and reported on, rather than the official set? Also, today I learned that BrickAtive is not just one (prolific) person on Rebrickable but a collection of people. The Old Town Pub is still on the Eurobricks post from 2017 - Quote

The Old Town Pub is still on the Eurobricks post from 2017 - I would be willing to bet somebody either: Option 1 (AKA 'Mistaken Identity'): Person A thought that other brand's copy of the MOC was Lego, and thus wrongly thought it was an official LEGO set. Option 2 (AKA 'Source Confusion'): Person A was wishing it was the next modular, which Person B picked up on and thought Person A was a leaker, therefore publishing the "leaked" info as a "fact". Option 3 (AKA 'Ego Trip'): Person A purposefully wants to delude and confuse people, and so published this MOC as a leaked set just to grain (temporary) cred for their ego / and or reasons unknown. Option 4 (AKA 'Fake Out') LEGO leaked the fake set model on purpose to find the holes in the system and plug them, and somebody (or multiple people) fell for it and have likely lost their job. Remember, LEGO has a job just for plugging set leaks, and this could be them tying to be proactive about it, rather than reactive. In any case, this 'set' is too close to the MOC to be real, and we NEVER get D2C, LEGO exclusive sets leaked this badly six months before release... It's just unheard of in this modern day and age. If the Lego designers can play as well on perspective to highlight the clocktower's height, it's going to be great. Btw, I hope they go for an "old town" style again for this set. I think that would make a nice combo with the Tudor Corner. Quote

Tudor Corner’s facade is a champion of the Modular Building Collection. I jsut love that the building is tied to the past like Tudor Corner. Quote
